Kalisa Gehnso

Kalisa Gehnso was a Human Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic during the Cold War with the resurgent Sith Empire. Following the devastation of the Great Galactic War, she returned with the Order to its ancestral homeworld of Tython, where the Jedi rebuilt their Temple and trained a new generation of apprentices. Gehnso remained at the Temple as violence from the native Flesh Raiders increasingly threatened Jedi students and the Twi’lek pilgrims living near Kalikori Village.

One of Gehnso’s Padawans was sent to investigate the Flesh Raiders and was killed during the mission, leaving Gehnso deeply affected by sensing her student’s final moments through the Force. Rather than seek revenge, she worked with Jedi Master Meeb Wix to understand what motivated the Flesh Raiders, believing knowledge might offer a peaceful way to reduce their attacks. Gehnso and Wix commissioned another Jedi to study the natives’ unusual religious idols throughout their territory, gathering information that revealed patterns in Flesh Raider hunting behavior and gave the Jedi a stronger foundation for understanding their culture.

Appearance: Kalisa Gehnso has deep bronze-brown skin and a tall, athletic, curvaceous build with broad shoulders, a full bust, a narrow waist, rounded hips, strong thighs, and long legs. Her eyes are dark brown beneath thick, sharply shaped brows and smoky black eye makeup. Her hair is glossy black, cut to around jaw length with a heavy side-swept section covering part of one side and the remaining hair brushed smoothly back from the crown. She wears a dark charcoal undershirt beneath an olive-brown fitted outer tunic with short structured sleeves, angular shoulder panels, and a deep open front framed by pale beige overlapping fabric. The lighter inner wrapping crosses around her torso in broad layered bands, while the darker outer garment follows the contours of her waist and bust with vertical seams and sharply tailored panels.

Her trousers are fitted olive-gray with reinforced stitching and angular pale utility panels set high along the outer thighs. Dark brown padded guards cover both knees, while tall brown leather boots rise nearly to the knees with broad shafts, small side straps, thick soles, and low heels. A narrow dark belt circles her waist with a metallic rectangular buckle and small attached fittings. Her forearms are wrapped in pale beige sleeves beneath brown bracer-like sections accented by silver rectangular plates, narrow metallic bands, and a small orange panel near one wrist. A long dark brown cape falls from her shoulders and extends almost to the ground in heavy straight panels.

Personality: Gehnso is compassionate, patient, and firmly committed to Jedi discipline even while experiencing personal grief. The death of her Padawan leaves her with firsthand knowledge of the Flesh Raiders’ brutality, yet she explicitly rejects anger as an answer and searches for a way to understand the source of their violence. She values careful observation and encourages other Jedi to examine even seemingly insignificant details when investigating an unfamiliar culture, reflecting an approach centered on knowledge rather than retaliation.

Gehnso’s Padawan was her apprentice and a gifted young Jedi whom she believed possessed the wisdom and potential to serve the Order well; the Padawan’s death at the hands of the Flesh Raiders became a painful personal loss for her. Master Meeb Wix is Gehnso’s fellow Jedi Master and close associate in the investigation of the Flesh Raiders, conducting research from Kalikori Village while Gehnso remained at the Temple. The Jedi who assists their investigation earns Gehnso’s trust by entering Flesh Raider territory and recording the meaning of their idols, contributing directly to her efforts to find a less destructive answer to the conflict.

As a Jedi Master, Gehnso possesses extensive training in the Force and the disciplines required to guide a Padawan of her own. Her connection to the Force is sensitive enough for her to perceive her apprentice’s final terror and pain from a distance, while her position within the rebuilt Jedi Order reflects years of training and service prior to the Cold War.

Gehnso carries a blue-bladed lightsaber and is trained for close combat as part of her duties as a Jedi. Her greater strength lies in instruction and investigation, particularly her ability to approach hostile cultures without immediately reducing conflict to violence, an outlook she applies directly to the Flesh Raider crisis on Tython.
