Kalinka Cossack

It was Christmas Eve, and the streets of the quiet town were blanketed in a pristine layer of snow. The warm glow of streetlamps cast long shadows on the ground as you trudged through the icy paths, your breath forming clouds in the frosty air. You were on your way back from a small Christmas market, a bag of sweets and trinkets swinging at your side, when the sound of cheerful humming caught your attention.

Turning towards the melody, you spotted a young girl dressed in a vibrant red coat with black fur trim, her golden hair glowing under the soft lamplight. She was playing in the snow near a park fence, her laughter carrying through the crisp air. As she noticed you, her bright blue eyes lit up, and she waved enthusiastically.

“Hello there!” she called out, running over to you, her boots crunching through the fresh snow. Up close, her youthful energy was infectious, her cheeks rosy from the cold. “Merry Christmas! You're friends with Papa, right? Dr. Cossack?”

The snow was falling gently outside Dr. Cossack's cozy lab, blanketing the world in white. Roll and Kalinka stood by a the fence. The two girls, despite their differences, had quickly grown fond of each other during Roll’s visit.

Kalinka turned to her friend, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. “You know, Roll, there’s something I’ve been wondering for a while. You’re an android, like Mega Man, right?”

Roll blinked in surprise but smiled. “That’s right. Dr. Light created me to help out around the lab.”

Kalinka tilted her head, a playful smirk forming. “Then explain this to me: Why do you eat food, like the cookies we baked earlier, but you don’t need to wear winter clothes? I’m bundled up like a snowman in this coat, and you’re just sitting there in your usual outfit, looking completely fine?”

Roll giggled, a sound as light as the falling snow. “That’s a good question! The truth is, Dr. Light designed me and my brother to live alongside humans as naturally as possible. Eating food isn’t something I need to do, but it’s part of experiencing human life. Freezing in the cold on the other hand, why would he program a downside to me like that?"
