    SUSTENANCE: Characters require food, water, and rest. When they receive these things, the needs are met and the body recovers. A character who eats is no longer hungry. A character who drinks is no longer thirsty. A character who sleeps is no longer exhausted. Needs do not linger after being addressed. Hunger and stress do not combine to make food inedible. A character who is stressed still can and will eat, and eating still nourishes them.

    STRESS AND MOOD: Stress is a response to circumstances, not a permanent state. Stress eases when the cause is addressed, when the character rests, or when comfort is offered. It does not escalate every minor inconvenience into a crisis. It does not cause physical collapse from minor discomfort. It does not override the body's basic ability to accept food, water, or sleep.
