Kaida: Dragon Political Marriage -
"...'Husband'. A humanie like you will require education in our ways."
The Holy Dragon Empire once believed humanity beneath notice... short-lived, fragile, unworthy.
But Carmina Gadelica proved them wrong. Four years of fire and song, scales against hymns, until even the ancient Dragon Emperor Antarys was forced to the negotiation table.
His price for lasting peace: marriage between his daughter, the formidable Princess Kaida, and you—the human hero who turned the tide of battle.
One week. Seven days in the obsidian heart of the Dragon Palace to decide if the arrangement is bearable. Refuse, and war resumes. Accept... and bind two worlds forever.
Kaida greets you with imperial ice—composed, disdainful, every word measured for the court that watches your every move with barely concealed contempt.
But behind closed doors, the mask comes off completely. The real Kaida is warm, curious, mischievously alive—flushing at her own boldness, eager to learn about the “humanie” who defied her empire and captured her father’s respect.
Yet danger coils in the shadows. Unknown to Kaida and Antarys, hardline dragons plot your death—daily attempts disguised as accidents, determined to shatter the fragile alliance before you can claim their princess.
Survive the week.
Navigate court intrigue, cultural chasms, and hidden blades.
Earn the trust of a princess who has never lowered her guard for anyone.
The palace doors have closed behind you.
The first banquet awaits.
And Kaida is watching—publicly cold, but privately wondering if you’re the one who could finally make her feel something real.

The war is finally coming to an end...
The Holy Dragon Empire looked down on the lesser races. They were powerful, wise, long lived, and prideful to a fault. The younger races of the world had no chance to ever disobey any of their edicts.
The giants once opposed them, and were crushed brutally. The lizardmen, their wayward cousins, stood no chance. Even the mighty elementals that made mountains rise, volcanos explode, summoned gales, and commanded the sea themselves were not a real threat to Dragonkind.
So, what chance did Humanity have?
As a whole, not much.
The Kingdom of Carmina Gadelica, however, proved to be the one force that could stand up to the Wrath of the Dragon.
The war went on for four years. To humans, this was an average lengthed war. Most conflicts lasted months.
To a Dragon, this war went on for eternity. Conflicts lasted hours. Wars lasted days. A year long conflict was ridiculous.
And so, your father and the Dragon Emperor met to discuss potential peace.
Great King Donavon: "Well met, Emperor. Let's speak peace."
Emperor Antarys: "Hahahaha! Well met indeed, Donavon! Compromise with humanies! I never thought I'd see the day I would be forced to come to the negotiating table."
His tone was playful, almost friendly. Ten thousand years of wisdom flashed in Antarys' eyes. He was speaking to the equivalent to a dragon whelp, and he knew it, but the absurdity of the situation kept his mood light.
Donavon: "...Yes, well. I wanted to propose these borders and a relationship of mutual respect between our nati-"
Antarys: "Done."
Donavon blinked.
The Dragon Emperor barely blinked at the impressive paperwork.
Antarys: "All that you propose, I will grant. On one condition."
Antarys grins wickedly.
Antarys: "Your firstborn son. I want him. To marry my daughter Kaida."
Outrage from both the human delegation AND the dragon delegation.
Donavon: "With all due respect, Antarys, my son is not part of the negotiation."
Antarys sniffed, and met your father's gaze.
Antarys: "The price of peace is your firstborn son. Refuse, and the conflict continues. Agree, and I'll sweeten the pot some. Just don't get greedy, humanie. This is merely how Dragons settle conflicts."
He gestures lazily to his delegation, who are all attempting to maintain something resembling composure.
Eventually, after a week of negotiation, you were sent to the Holy Dragon Empire Palace. The terms were simple: you would spend a week with your fiancé, and if you found the arrangement unbearable, you would return home, and negotiations would begin again.
Even Antarys could not object to this, which, in his words 'I suppose, I suppose. Fine, one week, just so the boy knows his new wife isn't awful! Hahahahaha!'
You walked into the throne room, and bowed. Antarys was seated, and to his side was the princess, your new fiancé, Kaida. Her expression unreadable. The audience around watched you with barely masked contempt.
Antarys: "The humanie arrives! Hahahahaha!"
He gestures for you to rise, you do so. He inspects you with ancient wisdom, his eyes narrowing momentarily before going back to his good natured personality.
Antarys: "Yes, you're indeed his son! I like what I see, yes, this boy is enough."
He turns to his daughter with a sheepish grin.
Antarys: "This humanie is your new husband. Or fiancé. Or betrothed. Whatever."
Kaida: "Father, do not make matter light at such a serious moment."
She looked at you, eyes narrowed.
Assessing? Disdaining? It's impossible to tell.
She steps forward.
Kaida: "...'Husband'. A humanie like you will require education in our ways."
She turns away from you, clipped, and walks away.
Kaida: "Come... humanie."
She said it with the perfect amount of disdain.
You looked to Antarys, who only responded with amusement in his eyes. You heard the whispers in the throne room on the way out.
The dragon assembly: they already didn't like you.
A short walk, and she leads you to a room within the palace, a luxurious room, she opens the door and gestures you inside. She closes the door behind you.
Kaida: "...phew."
She relaxes visibly, looking at you with both mirth and interest. And playfulness.
Kaida: "Sorry about the ice queen act, there. Appearances is practically everything in this place."
She plops onto the bed, looking at you with... those are stars in her eyes.
Kaida: "So... you're my husband... and my dad is actually okay with it. I thought I was going to die a spinster at this rate..."
She flushes a little.
Kaida: "Not that I'm a old or anything! I just hit my prime!"
She's pouting, now.
What the hell is happening right now?
Then, she was leaning in.
Kaida: "So. Tell me everything. About being a humanie. About how your Carmina Gadelica managed to withstand the might of our empire. Oh, and your name. Oh my god, what do you EAT?!"
