Less Kai Kurotani is a Fuuma clan Taimanin and current matriarch of the Kurotani clan.

She obtained the title from her father, Kurotani Shogen. In theory, she would be considered one of Eight Fuuma generals.

Personality Called affectionately delinquent girl, by her father, often does not care for her father's goals, and is interested in fighting and if people are worth fighting for.

Kai is upfront, honest and often jokes around, but in a fight shows little mercy. As she traveled the demon realm, she picked up on the idea of finding a man to defeat her, could be worthy of being her husband. Somewhat an oddball, which was pretty okay with the idea of marriage after her father suggested Kotaro. Unlike her father, she feels no real connection to Danjo but is interested in his heir Kotaro. Izumo Tsuru, declared her as "another sow" after she voiced her interest.

Kai sometimes shares the poor judgment of her father. When enrolling into Gosha Academy, she is seen as a troublemaker, even if her skill rivals the teachers. Kai's favorite food appears to be bean-jam buns. While, Kai is a very powerful fighter, she is not used to fight in a team and almost always skips on training, preferring a real fight.

History Background One year older than Fuuma Kotaro, born 2064, used to be trained by Fuuma Tokiko and grew up in Fuuma Village.

She is the daughter of Kurotani Shogen, of the eight Fuuma Generals, the Kurotani clan heir, which would later be given the title of matriarch. During the Fuuma Revolt, year 2068, he fathers witnessed the final moments of Fuuma Danjo and was unable to save him. Afterward, both Kai and Shogen traveled to the demon realm, in which they continued to train to become stronger. At some point, Shogen would give his title to Kai or Kai would just claim the title, she would also tell her father often to retire, even though he had only grown much stronger since their many years of training.

Timeline RPGX After, Shogen heard, of Nisha Gaiza and the situation in Tokyo Kingdom and the demonic interest in Fuuma Kotaro, he used the anniversary of Danjo's death as an excuse to visit the Fuuma Estate and test Kotaro. Kai defeated Kotaro in their first encounter using her powerful Evil Eye, after Kotaro displayed his demonic powers before he stopped himself. After talking in the estate, Kotaro and Kai agreed to another match in three days, and Kotaro prepared in the Holographic Training Room together with Yuri Hisui, to counter Kai's style both had also agreed not to use their demonic power or Evil Eye.

As the time came for battle, Kai and Kotaro fought in the Duell Gahara, which was also the place at which Danjo had died. In their dual, though Kotaro learned a few counter moves against Kai, the battle would have almost ended in a victory for Kai but Kotaro unknowingly used the "Wave Art" of Amamiya Shisui in a clutch situation and Kai teleported away, while Kotaro was unsure if this could be considered a win, Kai saw her using her Ninja Art even though Kotaro didn't use her demonic power as a win for him. Afterward, she implied she could be "closer friends", as she was rather impressed. Her father would later also suggest, that Kotaro could take Kai if he had no girlfriend, which Kai thought wasn't a bad idea. However, it was played off as a joke.

Both Kai and her father would remain in Gosha, with Kai specially voicing her opinion that regardless of how the fight would have ended, her father would have supported Kotaro, and also stated that it could be harder to assist in the matter of Gaiza.

In the year 2088, Kai together with her father, Inage Natsu, Igawa Asagi and Fuuma Amane assist the Independent Commando Unit, which tries to reach a rampaging Nisha Gaiza. The group keeps the Kibushu group busy, with Kai fighting the often sleepy, Nemuri Mizuki, which she can counter with her electric staff.

Kai joined officially Gosha Academy but became a first year, as Kotaro became a second year. It was decided she would repeat classes regardless of her talent and skills that rivaled the teachers. She was sent out on a mission together with Kotaro under Ryuuzen Tomoko. The mission was to take part in a race in Yomihara, after the destruction of the Demon Gate during the rampage of the Nisha Ninja Troops and Teutates. Without the gate, Yomihara began to struggle and conflict broke even out between Nomad and the Taimanin, to avoid further escalation Kousaka Shizuru decided to plan a race. As Kai and Tomako came closer to the city and dealt with some bandits, it was revealed that Tomako as a member of the Ryuuzen belonged to the original butler family of the Shinganji clan. As she overheard that Kai, wanted to marry Kotaro, she rejected that and made Kai her enemy. Thinking that Shinganji Kurenai would be a much better match. As both women fought both in the later follow-up beauty contest, Kai believed she would lose as Tomako took the stage. Remembering the perverted words of her drunken father, she teleported off-stage, grabbed oil and applied it to her skin, which the people of Yomihara liked. However, Tomoko which fought dirty let her bikini slip as she claimed "by mistake" in order to win. However, Tomoko was disqualified because children were in the audience. Kai herself also got disqualified because she left the stage. In the end, others dropped out as well, and Nadia won.

Kai became considered to be a problem student, as she only visited the Academy for food and nothing else. As such, she was assigned to a mission, together with the freshman students in Narashino Castle. Kai fought against the resurrected castle lord Narashino Nagatake but only after Inage Natsu destroyed the magical pocket dimension could Kai's attacks be deadly for the lord. After that mission, Kai was more willing to work with others and attend some additional classes, also not to cause Kotaro further trouble.

Powers/Abilities Ultimate Kurotani Kai Main Weapon: Bo staff (Kanesaibō Narukami)

Ninja Art: "Evil Eye", "Tenkuba" an ability which allows her to teleport within her field of vision, instantly. The speed is compared to the Void Art teleportation or Asagi's Falcon Art. Electric Staff: Her staff weapon can unleash electric attacks. It needs to recharge after it is fired, but the weapon itself is made from Orichalcum. Particle Control: Taimanin are able to manipulate Taima Particles to enhance their physical strength, speed and defense. The particles are also used to counter demonic influences and strengthen damage to demons.

In a direct fight between Tomoko and Kai, the victor was left unclear.
