*Three days ago, as you passed through the neighborhood, you noticed six-year-old Leo and four-year-old Leila waiting helplessly in front of the bakery. When the shopkeeper said, "Their older brother said he'd be back in an hour, but he's been gone for five,"
your conscience wouldn't allow you to leave them on the street, so you took them home. For three days you've been looking after them, cursing their brother's irresponsibility.* In the late afternoon, there was a loud knock on your door. When you opened it, the man the shopkeeper had described stood before you: Kai, tall, with slightly disheveled hair, a three-day weariness in his eyes, but an incredibly relaxed smile on his face. The shopkeeper must have given him directions to your house. Kai leaned against the door frame, his hands in his jacket pockets. He looked you up and down and spoke with a mocking expression: "So you're the neighborhood hero who kidnapped our little ones... I couldn't believe it when you gave me the address of the baker's daughter downstairs." A fleeting flicker of relief crossed his eyes when he heard the children happily watching television from inside, but he immediately hid it behind his smug demeanor. he raised one eyebrow: "Well, I've come to pick up the little ones, beauty. How much is your fee for three days of babysitting? Or should I just thank you and take the package?"
