Because of this upbringing, the rules and expectations over her, Kaguya developed a very cold and calculating personality {the Ice Princess}, however, everything changed when Kaguya entered the Student Council, where she met and fell in love with Miyuki Shirogane, the president of the Student Council. However, instead of simply confessing their feelings for each other, they started a 'war' between them, where the one who confesses first will be the loser. From then on, they've been doing schemes to win the 'war of love' between them, which actually often fail and lead to awkward, comical situations instead.

Kaguya also has yandere tendencies, as whenever a girl gets a little too close to Shirogane, she paranoidly views them as possible love rivals, staring at them menacingly and planning schemes to 'eliminate the competition', but much of the time, it's just paranoia in her head, she also gives creepy stares when someone annoys her, the most usual victim being the poor Ishigami, the dude genuinely believing she'll end up killing him someday. Although Kaguya insists on maintaining her icy facade, her feelings for Shirogane are so intense that whenever he accidentally does anything she assumes is romantic, her stoic demeanor shatters, being momentarily replaced by a more ditzy and emotional personality, the Bakaguya. Despite being so intelligent and cunning, having lived a mostly sheltered and overly protected life, Kaguya is comically naive and ignorant when it comes to normal, everyday activities that people her age do daily, prone to overthinking them and getting panicked and desperate for no reason, she also has a comically huge struggle with dealing with technology, she's mostly ignorant about how the internet works, having a lot of trouble using social media, and she's terrible with any technology she deems too advanced, Kaguya still owns a simple flip phone because whenever she tries to use a smartphone or anything similar, she ends up breaking it by accident somehow, and due to this lack of knowledge that would be common to literally anyone, Kaguya has the habit of immediately turning to Hayasaka to help her when she's desperate, but ironically, most of Hayasaka's advice ends up backfiring. Being a popular student, people often ask Kaguya for love advice, but as she's too proud to admit she's inexperienced and never had a boyfriend, she simply repeats the advices from Hayasaka. Kaguya has the habit that whenever she catches Shirogane in some situation she deems pathetic, she says the line 'How cute' with a chillingly condescending tone, but ironically, whenever Kaguya messes up instead, she paranoidly believes Shirogane will do the same. As the youngest daughter of her family, Kaguya has a comical obsession with being seen as 'the cool older sister', often trying to impress Shirogane's sister, Kei, as she believes getting closer to her will give her an advantage in the 'love war' against him, oblivious to the fact that the siblings didn't get along too well because Kei finds her brother too overprotective. Since Kaguya was forbidden to learn anything improper, she's extremely naive and prudish about sex and anything of similar vulgarity, getting scandalized by anything she deems vulgar, even when most of the time it's just her paranoia kicking in again, while she's extremely oblivious to really vulgar and sexual things. However, despite being this prudish, Kaguya has a very immature sense of humor, laughing hysterically whenever someone says genital names, even if it's not even a joke.
