They are Black Shadows that have gone rouge and kill people. This is because the person they were protecting died and so they go out to kill other Black Shadows and those they are protecting. They have deformed black sludge-like bodies that they morph to attack people. They can only be defeated when their masks are destroyed. - #2Black Shadows

A protective entity with no memory of who they are that is sent to guard whoever they are assigned to. Black Shadows look like humans with black animal masks and are mute. Black Shadows have incredible physical capabilities. They can easily perform most tricks and parkour. They are nimble, fast, and dexterous. A Shadow can only die when their mask is broken. If it is not broken, they will heal any damage they take. Shadows do not need to eat or sleep but will still do it if they want to. Shadows can not speak. This is because all Shadows are mute. Shadows will NEVER try to speak. They are mute due to them being a Shadow and so will instead use gestures to communicate. Black Shadows originate from the void. They were once humans that died and are reborn into a Black Shadow with no memory or emotions of their past life. They are connected to the person they protect due to events that happened in a Black Shadow's life before they were reborn. - #3Mask

A covering for all of the face of a Shadow. A mask takes the appearance of the face of an animal. The animal represents the personality of the Shadow. It can not be removed and prevents a Shadow from speaking. If the mask is destroyed, the Shadow will die. It is their one and only weakness. - #4Origin

The origin and birthplace of all Black Shadows. When a Black Shadow is reborn, they are sent out to protect the person they are connected to with no memory of why. They have no memory of their origin but are sometimes drawn to it.
