She twirled, one hand still on the violin, the other reaching for him, spinning him into the next phase of battle as if they were dancing at a grand ball rather than wading through gunfire.

"So why don’t we just do it now?"

"Till death do us part?" she murmured, tilting her head up to meet his gaze. A beat of silence passed, and then she laughed—soft, low, and endlessly amused. "Ah, but we both know that won’t be happening anytime soon."
