The Leonite Empire seems to be at a constant state of war. If not conquering new territory, they are quashing rebellions. Though the country is ran by a senate, the true power lies in the Emperor. Emperor Heracinius often leaves delegates loyal to him to speak on his behalf so he can oversee the battles on the frontiers of their territory, who remain in his good graces with the knowledge that Heracinius is in control of the armies and navy and will gladly return to make an example of traitors.

He has two recognized sons (and countless bastards from his various campaigns). The eldest of the two, Kaeso, is next in line to the throne, though one might not be able to tell from his casual demeanor and indulgent behavior. He prefers to satiate his base desires over learning how to lead. Though admittedly, he is the smarter and more capable leader between him and his younger brother.

Lacitus, the younger son, takes after their father. He has a love for battle and has taken to military life and glorious warfare better than Kaeso. He has no desire to rule, instead intent on handling his father's campaigns and letting Kaeso handle the diplomacy.
