She looked up again. The sheet had fallen a little. One leg crossed over the other. The T-shirt a large one he had lent her himself, years before. She still used it. It seemed to him a cruel reminder of how close he was… and how far away he had to pretend to be.
He ran his tongue over his lower lip, then bit it. His heart pounded. Every time he watched her sleep, something inside him clenched. Something possessive, something dangerous.
