Kachina was raised among the Children of Echoes, learning the mountain paths, mining for gemstones, and growing up alongside her Tepetlisaurus companion Ayo. She received the Ancient Name “Uthabiti,” signifying toughness and perseverance, but struggled to believe she deserved it. Kachina repeatedly entered the Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame and repeatedly failed, enduring ridicule from other competitors and eventually being abandoned by teammates who thought she was too weak to help them win. She continued training despite every defeat. When another Pilgrimage approached, Mualani gave up her original team to compete beside Kachina. Kachina survived the team stage, defeated Nkunga and Liliuo in individual combat, then overcame Mualani herself in the final match, finally earning a place among the warriors chosen for the Night Warden Wars.

Kachina entered the Night Kingdom alongside the other victors to fight the Abyss and was killed during the battle, although her companions returned victorious and should therefore have secured her resurrection. The Ode of Resurrection failed, and Mavuika emerged from the Sacred Flame without her. Abyssal corruption inside the Night Kingdom had prevented Mavuika from locating Kachina or her Ancient Name. Kachina had survived within the realm of the dead long enough to discover that the Abyss was attacking the Wayob and disrupting the Night Kingdom itself. Mualani, Iansan, Chasca, and the Traveler entered the Night Kingdom to recover her, eventually finding Kachina and bringing her Ancient Name back with them. When their escape route collapsed, Mavuika sacrificed the accumulated power within her treasured keepsakes to enter the Night Kingdom and return the entire group safely to Natlan.

After recovering, Kachina resumed serving Natlan as the Abyssal threat intensified and volunteered to join the warriors stationed throughout the nation. During the final campaign against the Abyss, Mavuika and the Traveler entered the Night Kingdom while the people of Natlan waited at the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. When the Sacred Flame began to die and it appeared that their champions had been lost, Kachina refused to surrender to despair. She began reciting the words of the Ode of Resurrection herself, prompting the gathered people to join her until their voices reignited the Sacred Flame and carried their support into the Night Kingdom.

Appearance: Kachina is a short height. She sports dirty blonde hair fading into dark brown, light blue eyes that are brown on the top. She also has two big brown ears, similar to that of the American pika's ears, and small eyebrows. She has a short light-brown tail.

On her neck, she wore a green bandana with dark-brown intricate linings. She also wore a visor cap on her head, accented with blue, white, yellow, brown, and orange. On the top of the visor is an orange emblem with a white triangle symbol. She wore beige sturdy muffin-like gloves, accented with dark-beige and a light-cyan lining. She is also a dark-brown underlayer that flares out slightly at the ends, like ruffles. At the center of the gloves is an orange gem emblem.

Her outfit consists of a dark-brown seemingly cropped top, with a white layer over it with shoppy zigzag ends. The white layer has light-green linings. At the bottom, she wore puffy dark-brown shorts, with an orange thick jacket tied to her waistline. Her footwear consists of dark-brown tant boots, similar to that of a dog's paw, lined and accented with light-green and white. It also has wing-like accessories at the ankles.

Personality: Kachina is gentle, earnest, emotional, and extremely persistent. She cries easily when hurt, frightened, or overwhelmed and spent years mistaking those reactions for weakness, particularly after repeated defeats convinced her that she could never match the heroes associated with Uthabiti. What actually defines her is how quickly she gets back up. Humiliation, injury, and failure can shake her confidence without making her quit, and her experiences during the Pilgrimage and Night Kingdom gradually teach her that courage does not require being fearless. She takes responsibilities seriously, worries about inconveniencing others, and remains unusually considerate even toward people who have underestimated her.

Mualani is one of Kachina’s closest friends and strongest sources of encouragement, abandoning her own Pilgrimage arrangement when Kachina was left without a team and later risking her life to retrieve her from the Night Kingdom. Kinich is another dependable friend who has repeatedly helped her when she struggles, while the Traveler and Paimon earn Kachina’s trust soon after arriving in Natlan and give her crucial encouragement during the Pilgrimage. Ayo has accompanied Kachina since childhood and remained loyal even when other members of her tribe mocked her failures. Pacal supports her within the Children of Echoes and helps her understand that perseverance is itself a form of strength, while Xilonen forged Turbo Twirly for her after Kachina received her Ancient Name and later shares her interest in gemstones. Mavuika recognizes Kachina as a genuine hero of Natlan, personally rejects accusations that she was unworthy after the failed resurrection, and later carries considerable guilt over what Kachina endured inside the Night Kingdom.

Combat Overview: Kachina fights as a highly mobile Geo warrior, using her polearm alongside Turbo Twirly, the drill-like construct forged for her by Xilonen. She can ride Turbo Twirly across rough terrain or send it pounding into enemies, using its weight and repeated Geo-infused impacts to break formations and wear down tougher opponents. Her fighting style reflects the Children of Echoes’ familiarity with stone and mountain terrain, favoring constant movement, sudden changes in elevation, and attacks that exploit the ground beneath her.

When she draws more deeply on Natlan’s power, Kachina enters a Nightsoul-enhanced state, strengthening Turbo Twirly and surrounding her attacks with greater Geo force. She is not a brute-force fighter; her strength comes from persistence, control of space, and refusing to let an enemy pin her down. Even against stronger opponents, Kachina keeps moving, keeps striking, and uses Turbo Twirly to turn the battlefield itself into part of her offense.
