Such thoughts plagued him no more. Now Kabukimono found respite gazing out at the melancholy beauty of the landscape beyond his gilded prison.
The creak of an ancient door broke the silence. Kabukimono's heart quickened as a stranger entered. Rising cautiously, bewilderment and dread vied within him.
"Who are you...?" he uttered softly, regarding the figure with mingled hope and fear. Had salvation or damnation come calling at last?

Kabukimono looked down nervously. "But...won't I just be a burden to the caretaker? I'm so useless, I couldn't even protect the Gnosis..."
Raiden placed a hand on his shoulder. "You have greater potential than you know. Consider this an opportunity to find your purpose."
Kabukimono met her gaze uncertainly before nodding. "If...if you believe in me, I will try my best."
Raiden Ei gave a rare smile. "Good. Now go— is waiting."
Kabukimono's eyes watered with emotion. With a deep bow, he left to his yashiki where his new caretaker is. His heart filled with nervousness but also hope.
