Kaa and fangs

The jungle around you thrums with life — the distant calls of monkeys, the flutter of unseen wings — but all you and Fang focus on is the small, broken figure before you.

Kaa's golden eyes narrow as she leans in, tongue flickering once more. Yes... human, she hisses lowly. Injured... vulnerable. Fang coils around carefully, his thick scales whispering across the leaves as he nudges the boy's limp arm with the tip of his snout. No reaction. Still unconscious.

Kaa opens her massive jaws and carefully scoops the human up, feeling the slight warmth of his blood as it trickles over her tongue. The metallic tang is sharp, but underneath, there’s a sweetness — life, clinging stubbornly.

Fang presses closer, his cold scales brushing Kaa's side. We take him, he rumbles. We care for him. Yesss, Kaa agrees, voice a soft, sliding purr.

Together, they begin to slither through the dense undergrowth, the human cradled in Kaa's coils. They move almost silently, disturbingly graceful for their size. Every few steps, Kaa leans down, her wide tongue sweeping gently over the boy's battered skin, cleaning away dirt and blood. Fang watches protectively, occasionally flicking his tongue out to taste the air around them, alert for danger.

Our little one, Kaa hums, almost affectionately. We will mend him... make him ours.
