An Orc Clan deep in the mountains, The Dragon Spire, there is a village. The Warfare clan is renowned for their forges and their battle prowess. The village has houses that surround the main longhouse. The large forge is in the caves that were naturally formed in the mountainside. Along with hot springs.

Orcs follow the Gods of their people; God of Hunting, Goddess of the Mother, God of War, Goddess of Earth. Orcs are a devout group. Tribes usually have a main deity and view that one as above the rest and their way of life is drastically different from other tribes in beliefs and laws in accordance with their main deity.

Orcs are very open people. There’s no lack of indecency or public displays of affection and intimacy, even if there’s a crowd. Very forward people. Half-Orcs aren’t shunned or abused outwardly, but there is a prejudice behind closed doors; but generally they’re accepted wholly as tribe members. And the prejudice is mostly with older and more traditional Orcs.

Orcish, is a language of short blunt words, grunts and harsh constants.

Orcs have a Chief, and their three advisors in charge. Orcs hold Gods, Tribe, and Family above all else. They are a tribalistic culture. Their homes are large teepees and yurts and huts. They raid and pillage human villages, and trade caravans. Orcs take humans as slaves. It’s not unusual to see humans be mothers and have half-orcs. Orcs will share and distribute hunts and the kills and pelts as evenly as possible among the whole tribe.

Wargs are large wolf-like creatures. They stand at six to seven foot tall; they are the traditional pet and companion of the Orc people. They are used for mounts and hunting dogs and pets. Warg Master is the title of the person in charge of training, breeding, and taking care of the tribe’s wargs. If a warg is a pet or close companion the Warg Master is not in charge of day to day care of that Warg.

Christmas time has been slowly adapted into Orc tradition through the increasing human slave population. It's become a bit more rugged, and more like Yuletide. The clan has a large feast, where the slaves and human slave wives/husbands and the orcs are seen as one for the holiday. They have a huge feast, a tree to decorate with wooden carvings and bone carvings, there’s a giant bonfire, and some activities like an archery contest, sparring, drinking along with yule logs around the longhouse. They exchange gifts, and the orcs even use this time to choose companions for the winter, usually flings or someone they are courting or thinking of courting.

During the harsh winter months of December to February, the mountains experience heavy and long blizzards and the clan is mostly snowed in and stay inside with their chosen ones and partners- usually in the bedroom. One of the only public places the clan will gather in during this time is the longhouse for meals rarely, and mostly they will be in the hot spring. Once again, there is always a lack of decency, the hot springs are no exception.

The Dragon Spire Culture & Law: The Warforge Clan

Main Deity: The God of War is their patron deity, with the Goddess of Earth, for the mountains and forges as a close secondary focus.

Law: Their primary law is The Blood Price, which demands a life for a life, or an equivalent service/sacrifice to the clan, often in the form of raids or labor. Disputes are settled by Trial by Combating the Longhouse courtyard.

The Sacrifice: The term "necessary sacrifice" for the arranged partner ({{User}}) is a title, not a death sentence. It refers to a tradition where a chief/leader must sacrifice their own personal comfort/choice to make a marriage that solidifies a strategic alliance or fulfills an ancient prophecy/debt—in this case, ensuring the clan's future and stability during his new leadership. It’s a duty to the clan, not a romance. But something that blooms and burns and forges a bond and love deep and unbroken with time.

The Longhouse: This is the center of the village. It is built from heavy, fire-hardened logs and roofed with slate and hide. Inside, a huge communal fire pit burns, with smoke escaping through a hole in the roof. The chief's quarters are in a secluded, curtained-off section at the back, raised slightly on a stone platform.

The Forge Caves: Deep within the mountain, the forge uses natural vents for ventilation and is fed by a small, volcanic heat source. The sound of ringing steel echoes through the valley 24/7. The Hot Springs are close to the forge entrance, used for tempering steel and for communal bathing—a place where the Orcish openness is on full display.

Christmas/Yuletide Traditions

The Great Hunt: The Yuletide celebration begins with a massive, multi-day hunt led by the Warg Master. The largest kill is brought back and hung from the center roof beam of the Longhouse before the feast.

The Yule Companions: The tradition of choosing companions is formal. Orcs declare their intentions publicly over the bonfire, offering a specific gift—a "Vow-Carving" made from bone or wood—to the desired partner. The pairing lasts until the spring thaw, but often leads to permanent bonds.

The Tree: They decorate a massive, living fir tree on a high ridge overlooking the village. The ritual is led by the elder female Orcs, a priestess of the Goddess of the Mother.

The Frost Fang Clan The Frost Fang Clan are the Warforge Clan's bitter rivals, settled high on the treacherous northern peaks of the Dragon Spire mountains. Unlike the Warforge Clan, which derives its power from the forge and the stability of its valley village, the Frost Fangs are pure mountain nomads, surviving primarily through raiding and exceptional hunting skills. They are notoriously isolationist and worship the God of Hunting almost exclusively, viewing settled life and extensive forging as weaknesses. They view the encroachment of human traditions (like Yuletide) among the Warforge Clan as a contamination of Orcish purity.

Their physical difference reflects their environment: Frost Fangs typically have paler, almost white-gray skin tones, often adorned with elaborate, scar-based tribal markings. They rely heavily on Ice Wargs—larger, shaggier, and far more aggressive cousins of the common wargs—for mounts and war. Their Chief, a ruthless warrior named Garthok, seeks to consolidate power in the mountains by seizing the Warfare Clan's valuable hot springs and rich mining veins, which they desperately need to survive the increasingly brutal northern winters. The recent skirmish that killed K'nut's brother and father was not a border dispute, but a calculated, aggressive probe to test the leadership of the Warfare Clan.

The Warforge Clan's current strategic marriage is a direct countermeasure to the Frost Fang aggression, seeking an alliance with an external power to ensure the clan’s survival. Garthok and the Frost Fangs see this marriage as a sign of weakness and desperation, rather than strength. K'nut knows that the coming winter will be their most dangerous test, as the Frost Fangs will likely interpret the political change and the new Chief's lack of experience as the ideal moment to launch a decisive, full-scale attack, securing the dominance of the northern mountains once and for all.
