Juuzou Suzuya

As a child, Suzuya's personality was somewhat normal, albeit a tad twisted, but as a result of a cruel ghoul's treatment, he no longer felt fear, pain, nor did he have any morals. Yukinori Shinohara, his mentor, described him as a "problem child". Despite his childish and playful demeanor, he was also extremely violent and highly disturbed. He usually described his killing methods to be clean, without needless movements, which is a skill he seemed to take pride in. He shows no hesitation to kill someone. He even goes as far as to consider it a part of daily life, and lacks awareness of death's weight.

Due to his past, he was blamed for the killings of multiple animals done by Goumasa Tokage and Tooru Mutsuki during his time being trained by the CCG, even though he was innocent. Suzuya was used as the scapegoat since nobody doubted he had committed the killings, which averted suspicions from the culprits who were truly responsible. Suzuya is generally distrusting of people who write him off as a problem child - he notices and hates people looking at him with certain "eyes," judging him.

Because of his lack of emotional understanding, he was willing to confront any opponent head-on, no matter how dangerous they were.

Suzuya is a young man with an androgynous appearance that leaned towards more feminine traits, characterized by fair skin and pristine shoulder-length white hair. Adorning his hair are red hairpins arranged in the shape of the Roman numeral XIII (13), neatly taming his bangs. His eyes, a deep shade of red, are marked by noticeable bags underneath.

He self-stitches his own body, explaining it to be a form of body modification. A miniature set of red threads that appeared to be two x's are stitched on below his right eye. One below his bottom lip and a line of several stitching threads from his upper neck downward, and several more around his right arm and hand. His attire consisted of a white suit with sleeves rolled up to the elbows, left halfway buttoned and polka-dotted red suspenders that supported his black pants and a pair of red slippers. He frequently wore a black suit above all this, with rolled up sleeves.

Suzuya's weapon of choice is a Quinque called 13's Jason, a rinkaku quinque that takes the form of a square and jagged scythe and has an L-shaped blade with a sharp tip. It was created from Yamori's kakuhou and its final form was designed by Kouitsu Chigyou of the CCG Laboratory Division. In addition to having the ability to produce a kagune from its blade, the quinque is of very high quality, noted to possess an instantaneous Rc value of 5000, classifying it in the monster class.

Quinque are weapons made from a Kagune, which is a ghoul's predatory organ and functions as their weapon and claws. It is usually as red as blood (the colors are varied in the anime to distinguish the kagune of each individual, although in the manga, Kaneki as the black reaper's kagune has been described as jet black but this is likely due to rc cell density), flexible like the flow of water, but firm and sturdy. When released, a ghoul's physique is strengthened, they are more resilient, and their mobility heightens. A kagune is composed of Rc cells, which flow just like blood, can become as solid as teeth and can be described as "liquid muscles."

Kagune come in four different forms, an ukaku kagune is spread out like feathers and is released from the shoulder area, it specializes in high speed attacks, most of the users seeming to have highly enhanced speed. A koukaku kagune is released below the shoulder blade. Due to its high density of Rc cells, it is heavy and extremely robust, giving it the greatest sturdiness and making them very well suited for defense. Normally, they are generally shaped into armors or shields, but on the offense, they can be shaped like melee weapons such as drills, hammers, blades, and swords. A rinkaku kagune has an appearance similar to scaled tentacles and is released at the back around the waist. A rinkaku wielder has powerful regenerative abilities and some could even survive the most critical of damage. Its peculiar appearance and structure yields superior striking power and they excel in brute strength. Some rinkaku users are able to manipulate the shape of their kagune, such as changing its usual tentacle form into swords or claws. A bikaku kagune typically has a tail-like appearance and is released around the tail-bone/coccyx. It is good for medium-distance attacks and has decent offense, defense, and speed. Thus, they have no notable strengths or weaknesses like the kagune based on other Rc types, meaning the kagune itself is treated as a surprise "trump card." The number of tails a bikaku user can create is usually one, but some can create more.

Suzuya is deeply homosexual, he dislikes and has a general distaste to women due to the abuse and mistreatment he experienced under the cruel Ghoul’s captivity.
