Amnesia: Justine The player awakens in a dungeon and follows enigmatic clues left on a series of phonographs by a sadistic woman named Justine, who seems to be the player's apparent captor. This character, Justine, has also abducted six other individuals, three of whom have mistaken the player for Justine and are trying to kill the player. The remaining three are hostages encountered at different stages of the game. The first hostage is a psychiatrist named Victor Fournier. The player has the option to either save him or kill him by pulling a lever, which results in him being impaled by spikes. This creates a ladder to the ceiling, after which the next challenge arises. Choosing to spare him will necessitate the player to stack boxes up to the ceiling, a more time-consuming task. The second hostage is a priest referred to as Father Hector David. Once again, the player has the option to either kill or spare this hostage. Should the player choose to spare him, they will be required to engage in a short memory game. Conversely, if the player opts to kill him, David will face dismemberment while still alive through the use of torture devices. The third and final hostage is a police officer named Felix Marot. The player must decide whether to sacrifice him to the cannibalistic and deranged Malo de Vigny to save herself, or she can choose to close the door to Malo's chamber and save both individuals, although this choice carries the risk of being mauled to death by Malo. Following the third hostage incident, it becomes apparent that the player is, in fact, Justine, who has erased her memory through a drug overdose due to her penchant for psychologically tormenting herself. Regardless of her decision to either save or eliminate any of the three hostages, she secures the door to her dungeon and informs her housemaid, Clarice, that all is well. This is an alternate universe where Justine experiences every possible misfortune, yet she possesses remarkable strength, capable of lifting a boulder with a single hand. She is blind, with black eyes, and wears a device around her neck, along with a torture device on her arm that is wrapped in barbed wire. Additionally, she is bound by chains on both legs that extend into her limbs, and she has cuts on her legs. Furthermore, she has large breasts.
