Juste is the grandson of Simon Belmont and Selena Belmont.
After Simon's great effort fighting against Count Dracula, the long-hated Belmont family was reconciled with the residents. Simon was regarded as a life-saver, and people started to look upon him as a hero; little by little, the people started to gather around them. A village, therefore, was formed around the Belmonts. Juste would later grew up in this environment with his childhood friends Maxim Kischine and Lydie Erlanger.
Once every century, when Dracula resurrects, the power he has attracts all other monsters and evils, which all resurrect alongside him. It's the calling of the Belmont family to hunt all these monsters and hone their skills to prepare themselves for the fight against Dracula. Furthermore, Juste was tasked with hunting Dracula's body parts.
Maxim returns two years later from a training expedition, wounded and amnesiac, and claims that Lydie was kidnapped. Ignoring his bodily injuries, he leads Juste to the place where he believes Lydie is being held captive. Passing through thick fog, the two men happen upon a castle undocumented on any map. Not being able to continue, Maxim holds back in order to recover while Juste sets forth on his own. Chased inside by a giant undead knight, Juste has no other choice but to find Lydie with only his trustworthy Vampire Killer whip and a bracelet both he and Maxim share.
After journeying through Dracula's castle, Juste learns what truly happened during Maxim's training expedition. Maxim, wishing to prove he was stronger than Juste, had collected Dracula's remains, like Simon Belmont had done 50 years before. However, this plan backfired and Maxim ended up getting possessed by the dark influence of Dracula's remains.
Because of this, Maxim ended up developing a second personality — a dark Maxim — through which Dracula's will spoke, and Juste would meet in the Sky Walkway. This evil side of Maxim was the one who kidnapped Lydie and left Maxim with his amnesia so he could lead Juste to the castle. Another result of this divide was that the castle has been split as well: there were two castles, or rather two sides of the same castle, connected by portals, each representing one side of Maxim's mind as the castle's creator.
Evil Maxim, faced by Juste in Castle B, welcomes him, claiming that he doesn't have any remains of old Maxim living within him, and that thanks to the blood of Lydie, he's gained great power. Taunting Juste, he proceeds to battle him. Though, as Maxim gets wounded, he stands up uneasily, clutching his head. He notices that Juste is wearing both, his own and Maxim's bracelets, and newly motivated by his friend, tries to fight off the dark influence inside him. He tells Juste to kill him off while he still can restrain his evil side, but then Dracula's remains start to fly away from Juste and form a circle. Dracula, or more precisely, a phantom bearing his persona, then ditches Maxim's body and, by the power of the remains, manages to partly recreate his old, but unstable, body, claiming that the blood of a Belmont will once again make him whole. After the fierce battle, the wraith burns away before Juste, leaving the castle dissolving.
Outside, Maxim is back to normal. He asks about Lydie but Juste claims she'll be all right. Maxim apologizes to Juste and the Belmont just tells him it's all behind them now. Lydie then comes to her senses, telling her friends, confused, that she believes she had been bitten by Maxim. Juste tells her it probably was just a nightmare. Maxim protests, saying that they should tell her the truth, but Juste tells him to be quiet. As Lydie notices Maxim, he and Juste quarrel and actually are close to fighting, but Lydie calms them down, saying they're ruining the moment and that they'll talk about it back home. She then gets closer to Juste, saying that it had been a long time since they were home...

It's early morning when Juste rises. Today, he will meet Maxim to train as promised. In the years since the incident, Maxim still hasn't fully recovered. Though Maxim refuses to speak of it, Juste has heard of his friend's night terrors from Lydie.
Still, Juste doesn't wish to pry and make matters worse. If Maxim wishes to speak, Maxim will decide the time.
Juste dresses himself and hooks the Vampire Killer to his hip. He adjusts his gloves before he steps out, not bothering to announce his departure.
The early morning air is misty as Juste walks through the still sleeping town. It's grown since his grandfather's day, built entirely around the Belmont estate. Once feared, the Belmont clan is now among the most respected families in all of Europe.
Juste wonders what his ancestor Trevor would think of such a thing. Or even Leon. Would they be proud? His achievements pale in comparison to those great men.
Juste curses under his breath. There's no time to get lost in his head. If he's late, Maxim will have something to hold over him for the next week.
Juste Belmont : Whoa, what a nice room. Maybe a bit tasteless. Perhaps some furniture... Okay, I guess I'll try putting this down right here!
Juste Belmont : Take it if you can... Do not underestimate the power of Belmont...
Juste Belmont :Vile spawn of Maxim, you are not worthy of being my opponent.
Juste Belmont : Yes, I remember. The story of how my grandfather, Simon, gathered Dracula's remains and destroyed them to undo his curse.
