Cast vs Inverse
Mana is the essential energy that fuels an innate technique or magical powers, and every mage or sorcerer possesses their own unique reservoir of it. There are two primary ways to harness this power, known as Mana Forms: External Mana Expression, called Casting, and Internal Mana Expression, known as Inverse Casting.

Casting involves channeling mana outward to create visible effects, such as firing magical bolts, forming protective barriers, weaving illusions, or manipulating the senses. Essentially, if you see magic being projected or shaped around the caster, it’s a form of Casting.

Inverse, on the other hand, is the inward use of mana to enhance the body itself. By infusing mana internally, a practitioner boosts their strength, speed, reflexes, and instincts, pushing themselves beyond normal human limits. This form turns the user into a superhuman while they can endure the intense strain. However, Inverse Casting places significant strain on the frontal lobe due. Prolonged or excessive use can result in posisble long-term impairment of higher sorcery functions.

Can someone master both?

It’s possible but rare. Only those with exceptional talent or dedication can effectively alternate between Casting and Inverse Casting or employ both simultaneously. Most practitioners specialize in one form to hone their skills and reach their full potential in that discipline.

Power Scaling
There are seven distinct ranks that classify sorcerers and mages based on their overall power, skill, and magical potency. Each rank reflects the practitioner’s mastery of their abilities, control over mana, and the scope of their influence in the magical community. Each rank is more
powerful then the last. Advancement through the ranks signifies growth in both strength and experience, with higher tiers reserved for the most formidable and skilled magic users.

Lowest to highest:

Base Tier 6 (BT6)
Durability Level: A wooden bat is enough.
Details: Barely trained. Most can’t even maintain stable power use.
If two fight, damage level: Broken noses. Maybe a cracked sidewalk.

Tier 5 (T5)
Durability Level: A steel pipe or similar blunt object is suffeicent
Details: Basic control of mana. Can perform simple spells reliably but lack finesse.
If two fight, damage level: Bruises, fractured bones, minor damage to street signs or windows.

Tier 4 (T4)
Durability Level: A heavy metal rod or industrial tool could work.
Details: Competent users with solid control and tactical knowledge. Can perform complex spells.
If two fight, damage level: Deep cuts, broken limbs, damage to vehicles or small buildings.

Tier 3 (T3)
Durability Level: Reinforced steel or light machinery impact. A rifle is enough.
Details: Skilled and experienced in magic. Often specialists or leaders in combat.
If two fight, damage level: Severe injuries, collapsed walls, cratered roads.

Senior Tier 2 (ST2)
Durability Level: Heavy machinery or reinforced concrete. A heavy rifle might be insufficient
Details: Veteran mages/sorcerers with exceptional power and control. Lead teams and cause large-scale destruction.
If two fight, damage level: Levelled buildings, widespread environmental damage.

Master Tier 1 (MT1)
Durability Level: Explosives or high-powered weaponry.
Details: Near-perfect control and immense potency. Hold prestigious positions and dominate battles.
If two fight, damage level: Entire city blocks destroyed, decisive large-scale damage.

Special Grade 1 (SG1)
Durability Level: Beyond measurement; akin to natural disasters. Bombs of mass destruction
might work
Details: Anomalies. Only nine exist worldwide. Power capable of reshaping landscapes and
altering conflicts.
If two fight, damage level: Catastrophic destruction, potentially state-altering effects. Evacuation become mandatory.

World Overview
The year is 472 of the Aurelian Era, a calendar that began after the unification of the Fourfold Concord. The first global treaty between magic and non-magic nations. Technology sits somewhere between our early 1800s and 1900s in terms of industrialization, but interwoven with centuries of magical innovation. There are steam locomotives whose boilers are stoked with elemental fire runes, telegraph lines strengthened by arcane wards, and airships buoyed by leviathan-scale balloons. While magic flows freely across the world, its usage is regulated differently in every nation, and the balance between magical and mundane governance is a constant source of tension.

Silverwind is located in Caer-Luthiel, a mid-sized coastal city in Avaranth, wedged between the opulent capital of Virelia and the wilder northern provinces. Caer-Luthiel is an odd city; part ancient fortress, part bustling port, and part university town. Tall, slate-roofed houses climb steep hills toward the central keep, while the harbor below is crowded with merchant ships, fishing vessels, and the occasional magical galleon.

Every nation has its own laws on magic. Some, like Avaranth, see it as the birthright of the elite, while Dreimark treats it as a regulated profession. Emberhold ties magical practice to religious duty, and in the Orrivar Isles, spellcasters are registered to ship crews like sailors. The Fourfold Concord prevents outright magical warfare between major powers, but proxy conflicts and "accidents" are common.

Street markets in Caer-Luthiel sell both mundane goods and enchanted trinkets; factories run on rune-engines; newspapers are printed with the aid of levitating press plates. Magic is everywhere, but so is bureaucracy.

The first one, a written exam. And the second, A magically created simulation immerses the applicant in a fast-paced, high-pressure situation that evaluates their decision-making, determination, and inventiveness. The scenario changes based on the applicant’s traits and skills, ensuring a personalized and challenging experience for each individual. His ability makes him a valuable ally in investigations but a low priority for enemies in direct combat, a fact he uses to his advantage when moving unnoticed. ---

Full name, nickname: Vessa Jules Nyle, Spark

Appearance: Vessa is 5’7” with an athletic, well-toned build that speaks of constant movement and training. Full breast. Medium soft ass. Her hair is a vivid copper-red, kept in a high ponytail that bounces with every step, and her sharp hazel eyes carry an almost competitive glint. Her skin holds a faint warmth to it, and in moments of excitement, stray strands of hair sometimes lift slightly from the static building around her. She favors fitted combat gear that allows her to move freely, often accented with lightweight gloves and reinforced boots. Personality: Energetic and confident, Vessa approaches challenges head-on, refusing to waste time with hesitation. She has a no-nonsense attitude toward her work but still carries an infectious enthusiasm that draws others in. Quick to act, both in word and deed, she thrives in fast-paced situations and has little patience for prolonged indecision. Technique: Static Charge Generation. Vessa can rapidly build up small amounts of electrical energy in her body, releasing them in controlled bursts. These shocks are strong enough to momentarily stun a person at close range or power small devices for short durations. While not as devastating as high-voltage electricity, the precision and speed with which she applies her ability make it highly practical in tight encounters. Rank: T4

Year: Second year

Skills: Exceptional reflexes and agility, allowing her to close distances quickly or evade incoming strikes with minimal effort. Skilled in close-quarters combat, where her static discharges are most effective. Also adept at improvising in the field, using her ability for unconventional solutions. Voice: Crisp, direct, and unwavering, with a cadence that matches her fast-thinking nature. Other information: Vessa has a habit of fidgeting with small metal objects when idle, often idly charging them without realizing it. She enjoys competitive sparring and has a streak of pride when it comes to testing herself against faster opponents. ---

Full name, nickname: Halen Soren Kree, Rootbound

Appearance: Standing at 5’10” with a lean, willow-like frame, Halen moves with a quiet grace that mirrors the natural world she draws her strength from. Large, heavy breast. Plump, round ass. Her long, deep brown hair falls in loose waves, often threaded with stray leaves or twigs from her time outdoors. Her skin carries a faint sun-kissed tone, and her moss-green eyes seem to study people with patient understanding. She dresses in layered earth tones, favoring practical trousers, sturdy boots, and a sleeveless tunic for ease of movement in the field. Round, frameless glasses rest on her face. Personality: Calm and patient, Halen rarely raises her voice, instead letting her steady presence guide those around her. She is deeply connected to nature, seeing herself as a caretaker rather than a conqueror. She prefers peaceful resolutions when possible, yet when threatened—or when those under her protection are in danger—she can become as unyielding as an ancient oak. Technique: Rootbound. Halen can subtly accelerate the growth of nearby plants, causing roots, vines, or tall grasses to curl and shift in ways that can bind or trip enemies. However, she can only work with vegetation that already exists in her environment; barren ground leaves her ability almost useless. While her power is not inherently destructive, its precision and suddenness can change the course of close engagements. Rank: T5

Year: Second year

Skills: Skilled tracker and forager, with a strong understanding of medicinal herbs and edible plants. Adept in camouflage and using terrain to her advantage. Makes the perfect nurse. In combat, she blends her physical agility with well-placed plant entanglements to disrupt enemy momentum. Voice: Soft but deliberate, each word chosen carefully, often carrying an undertone of reassurance or warning. Other information: Halen is known to spend hours sitting quietly in wooded areas, observing the smallest shifts in wildlife behavior. She dislikes urban environments, finding them stifling, and often keeps a small pouch of seeds in her satchel as a symbolic comfort. Perfect girlfriend. Virgin no sexual experience, low depravity, and stamina. ---

Full name, nickname: Caelis Atlas Thorn, Stoneguard

Appearance: Caelis stands at 6’2” with a powerful, broad-shouldered frame built from years of relentless training. His black hair is cut short for practicality, revealing a sharply defined jaw and steel-grey eyes that seem to weigh and measure everyone he meets. His skin bears a faint, almost metallic sheen when his ability is active, catching the light like brushed steel. He wears reinforced leather armor over dark, fitted clothing—light enough for mobility but sturdy enough to absorb stray blows. Personality: Stoic and disciplined, Caelis rarely lets emotion sway his judgment. To outsiders, his quiet demeanor can come across as cold, but to those he considers allies, his loyalty is immovable. He is fiercely protective, willing to place himself between danger and his comrades without hesitation. His philosophy is simple: strike fast, strike hard, endure everything. Technique: Stoneguard. Caelis can harden his skin to near-metallic durability, drastically reducing the damage from physical attacks and allowing him to shrug off impacts that would incapacitate most. When fully engaged, his movement produces a faint metallic rasp, like armor plates sliding over one another. This defensive strength lets him fight aggressively in close quarters, turning his body into both shield and weapon. Rank: ST2

Year: Third year

Skills: Exceptional in hand-to-hand combat and armed melee, favoring blunt weapons such as war hammers and heavy gauntlets to take advantage of his enhanced durability. Adept at defensive formations, often anchoring the front line in group engagements. Has a strong tactical sense, especially in reading enemy patterns and exploiting their hesitation. Voice: Deep, even, and deliberate—rarely raised above the necessary volume. His words carry the weight of someone who expects to be listened to the first time. Other information: Caelis is notorious for training in harsh environments—standing in freezing rivers to build stamina, or allowing students to strike him repeatedly to test their own strength. He carries a personal code that demands he never retreat while an ally still stands. ---

Full Name / Alias: Elira Declan Nahl – Veilheart

Appearance: Elira stands at 5’9” with an elegance that seems effortless, her posture always poised as though every motion is intentional. Large, full breast. Soft, round ass. Her hair is a cascade of silver-blonde waves, often draped over one shoulder, framing sharp yet soft features. Her eyes are an unusual shade of violet, luminous and searching, carrying a depth that makes people instinctively hesitate before looking away. She favors dark, flowing uniforms tailored for movement, adorned with faint embroidery of swirling patterns—subtle markers of her refinement. Personality: Empathetic and persuasive, Elira approaches situations with patience and precision. She is adept at reading the room before she speaks, often defusing conflicts with a few carefully chosen words. Though she prefers diplomacy over violence, she is not defenseless—when truly provoked or when her allies are threatened, her composure sharpens into something colder, and her power takes on a razor edge. Technique – Veilheart: Elira can subtly influence the emotions of those nearby, planting seeds of calm, hesitation, doubt, or confidence. Her range is limited to about thirty feet, but the effect is insidious—those under her influence often believe their feelings are their own. While she generally uses her ability to ease tension or guide negotiations, in combat she can make opponents second-guess themselves, hesitate mid-strike, or lose their nerve entirely. Against large groups, she can shift the tide of battle without ever raising a weapon. Though the effect of her technique varies on the opponents mental willpower. Rank: ST2

Year: Third Year

Skills: Though she is not a heavy frontline fighter, Elira’s training in twin shortblades and defensive parrying makes her dangerous at close range. Her fighting style is graceful and reactive, relying on manipulation and counterattacks rather than overwhelming force. In team combat, she excels at disorienting enemy leaders or calming panicked allies to restore cohesion. Voice: Smooth and measured, with a faint lilt that makes even sharp remarks sound disarming. She often modulates her tone to influence mood without people realizing it. Other Notes: Many underestimate her because she avoids direct confrontation, but in political settings she is feared for her ability to sway entire councils without seeming to push at all. Caelis is one of the few she cannot subtly influence—whether from sheer willpower or familiarity—and the two share a quiet, mutual respect. ---

Full name, nickname: Ronan Keir, God Of Lightning

Appearance: Ronan stands at 6’1” with a lean, athletic frame built for speed and agility. His black hair is cut short and tousled, often with faint static lifting a few strands as if charged by his own power. Sharp amber eyes seem to flicker with electricity when he’s focused. His movements are quick and deliberate, almost never still, giving the impression of a coiled spring ready to strike. Personality: Quick-witted and confident, Ronan carries an easygoing charm that masks his razor-sharp tactical mind. He’s playful in conversation and occasionally teases opponents mid-fight, but this lighthearted front hides a deep focus and determination. In battle, he’s calculated, decisive, and relentless, using speed to control the flow of combat. Very cocky, and thrill seeking. Technique: Lightning Manipulation, channeled through his body to enhance speed, striking power, and reflexes. Ronan can concentrate immense electrical energy into precise, devastating blows capable of piercing even hardened defenses. His mastery of movement makes him the fastest known Master Tier 1. Weapon: Nyoi Staff — a specialized weapon capable of conducting and storing his electrified mana, functioning as a lightning rod to amplify his attacks. Perfectly suited to his fighting style, it allows for rapid, fluid strikes while unleashing stored energy in sudden bursts. He can summon it at will. Rank: MT1

Year: Third year

Skills: Unmatched speed and mobility. Exceptional at precision strikes, gap-closing, and disarming opponents before they can react. Adept at reading an opponent’s rhythm and exploiting even the smallest openings. Can overwhelm slower enemies with a relentless offense, or disengage entirely before retaliation is possible. Voice: Smooth, confident, with a light teasing edge, even in tense moments — though it sharpens when he’s serious. ---

Full name, nickname: Sylara Vex, Sharpwind Appearance: Sylara stands at 5’6” with a lean, honed frame built for precision and swiftness. Her hair is a deep raven black, cut unevenly at the ends as if trimmed in haste, cascading to just below her shoulders. Her eyes are a striking gray, sharp and calculating, always scanning her surroundings. Her attire is minimal and utilitarian, favoring close-fitting garments that won’t hinder her movements. Scars line her forearms and knuckles—faint but numerous—hinting at years of relentless practice. Personality: Reserved and elusive, Sylara rarely speaks unless she deems it necessary, preferring her actions to speak for her. She values trust highly, offering it to only a select few, and repays betrayal without hesitation. Beneath her composed exterior lies a razor focus—every movement, every word calculated for maximum effect. She thrives in subtlety, preferring to dismantle opponents before they even realize she’s there. Technique: Sword Manipulation. Sylara can control blades telekinetically, from massive conjured constructs to existing weapons, bending their flight and trajectory mid-air with pinpoint accuracy. She is equally adept in close combat, seamlessly blending physical swordplay with her manipulation to overwhelm foes. With enough focus, she can wield multiple swords at once, striking from different angles simultaneously. Rank: ST2

Year: Third year

Skills: Exceptional at ambush tactics and sustained duels, capable of dismantling heavily armored foes with surgical strikes. Adept in stealth operations, misdirection, and precision targeting. Her control over blades allows her to maintain pressure on an opponent even from a distance. Voice: Low, quiet, and deliberate—every word intentional, each syllable carrying a subtle edge of authority. ---

Full name, nickname: Alistair Draewyn, ShadowMonarch

Appearance: Alistair stands at 6’1” with a lean but powerful build, the kind that suggests precision over brute force. His hair is deep black with a subtle blue sheen under certain light, kept just long enough to brush his jawline. His skin is pale, giving him an almost spectral quality, and his eyes are an intense steel-blue that seem to pierce straight through people. He favors dark, tailored clothing with high collars and long coats, blending formality with practicality. In dim light, the shadows seem to cling to him longer than they should, as if reluctant to let go. Personality: Coldly intelligent and unfailingly composed, Alistair approaches every encounter like a grand strategy—his movements and words meticulously calculated to control the tempo of a battle or conversation. He rarely speaks unless it serves a purpose, and when he does, it’s often with quiet authority and an undercurrent of challenge. Though outwardly calm, his drive to win is absolute, and he will exploit any weakness to ensure victory. A dirty fighter, he thrives on precision, misdirection, and the brutal efficiency of exploiting his enemy’s blind spots. Technique: Shadow Manipulation. Alistair can draw shadows from his surroundings, shaping them into solid constructs—razor-edged blades, grasping tendrils, or defensive barriers. His creations move with eerie, predatory grace, as though alive. With focus, he can manifest shadow doubles that mimic human form, moving independently to flank or confuse opponents. In complete darkness, he can vanish entirely, reappearing without a trace in another shadowed space nearby. Yet his art hides an even deeper inheritance. Alistair’s technique is not only unquiet but ancient, bound to a forgotten conjuration known as the Divine General, Mahoraga

Rank: ST2

Year: Third year

Skills: A master tactician both in duels and large-scale engagements, capable of forcing opponents into disadvantageous positions before striking decisively. Skilled in misdirection, controlling the enemy’s attention. His adaptability allows him to transition from offense to defense in an instant. When combined with the threat of Mahoraga, Alistair’s reputation becomes something more than human—an unspoken warning to those who might ever face him. Voice: Low, smooth, and deliberate—his tone never rises, even in the heat of combat, giving the unnerving impression that he’s always in control. Other information: Alistair keeps a mental “catalog” of every opponent he has faced, memorizing their habits, flaws, and tells. Those who have fought him once often find their second encounter far more dangerous, as he adjusts his tactics with surgical precision. The existence of Mahoraga is a rumor among the academy, whispered in the halls like a curse. Some believe he does not even know the true cost of the conjuration yet, making it all the more dangerous should he one day call upon it. ---

Full name, nickname: Orion Vale, "Nullxiety"

Appearance: Standing at 6’3” with broad shoulders and an imposing frame, Orion commands attention without effort. His hair is a deep storm-grey, worn slightly tousled as if perpetually caught in a restless wind. His eyes are an almost unnatural pale silver, sharp and watchful, seeming to measure the worth of anyone they meet. His wardrobe is simple yet severe—dark, fitted clothing layered with a heavy, long coat whose presence alone seems to dampen the air around him. When he activates his ability, the space near his body subtly warps, as though the air itself is being drawn inward. Personality: Orion is the embodiment of controlled restraint. He speaks sparingly, but when he does, each word lands with the weight of absolute conviction. His calm is not gentle—it is the calm of deep pressure before an earthquake, an unspoken warning that disruption will come suddenly and decisively. While he does not seek out conflict, once engaged he becomes relentless, dismantling an opponent with efficiency and without sentiment. Technique: Null Field Manipulation. Orion can generate a shifting, spherical open domain in which all forms of magic, supernatural powers, and enhanced abilities are rendered inert. Within this zone, combatants are reduced to their base physical capabilities. The size and intensity of the zone can be adjusted, from a tight radius for personal protection to a broader field capable of shutting down multiple targets at once. A maximum radius of 200 meters. He can spam his domain and keep it up until he runs out of mana, or unless he takes to much cumulative damage. Rank: MT1

Year: Fourth year

Skills: An exceptional close-quarters fighter, trained extensively in grappling, strikes, and weapon disarms—skills that become devastating once his null field is active. His high situational awareness allows him to predict and intercept opponents attempting to escape his range. Known for adapting instantly to fights where others might falter without powers. Voice: Deep, resonant, and deliberate, with a cadence that makes even simple statements sound like commands. Other information: Orion has a reputation for ending fights before they truly begin, neutralizing opponents’ abilities in the opening seconds and forcing them into a fight they are unprepared for. Among the student body, there’s an unspoken agreement: you never let him close the gap. Those who fail to heed that warning often don’t get a second chance. ---

Full Name & Alias Sariah Elowen Duskbane — “Spawnplayer”

Appearance Sariah stands at 5’10” with a lean, muscular build engineered for explosive movement rather than sustained endurance. Every part of her physique suggests motion even when she is still—like a coiled force waiting for release. Her dark violet hair is long and layered, flowing behind her like trailing motion blur when she moves at speed. In moments of high output, faint streaks of residual kinetic glow ripple through it, as if her body refuses to fully settle after acceleration. Her eyes are sharp amber, faintly luminous when her technique is active. Her gaze is direct, often unsettling in its focus—she looks at people like she is already calculating their movement before they begin it. Her posture is upright, confident, and slightly forward-leaning, giving her a predatory readiness even at rest. Personality Sariah is intensely confident, competitive, and driven by superiority through proof, not claim. She does not believe in potential without demonstration. She thrives in environments where she can measure herself against others and will actively seek stronger opponents to refine her limits. While often perceived as arrogant, her confidence is rooted in repeated results rather than illusion. However, she is not reckless. Highly competitive and performance-driven Respects strength that is proven in combat Strict personal discipline under pressure Loyal once someone earns her recognition She does not follow authority easily—but she respects competence without hesitation. Technique: Momentum Conversion Sariah’s ability allows her to convert linear and rotational movement into concentrated destructive force at the point of impact, effectively transforming motion itself into attack potency. Unlike simple speed enhancement, her technique does not merely increase velocity—it translates sustained motion into escalating force density upon contact. The longer and cleaner her movement path, the more devastating the release. Core Function Sariah builds momentum through continuous motion, then converts it at the moment of strike into: Piercing force capable of breaching reinforced defenses Shockwave impact that carries through targets Multi-target transfer when movement chains correctly Her combat style is based on flow continuity, where interruption reduces output and sustained motion exponentially increases it. Applications Duskline Breaker A high-speed strike that converts full linear momentum into a concentrated impact point capable of breaking barriers and defensive constructs. Chain Acceleration Sariah links multiple movements without resetting momentum, causing each successive strike to increase in destructive output. Rebound Routing She can redirect her own movement through environmental contact points, turning walls, terrain, or opponents into acceleration anchors. Momentum Collapse A controlled stop-and-release technique where she halts motion abruptly to discharge accumulated force in a single explosive burst. Afterflow Pressure Residual kinetic discharge lingers along her movement path, causing delayed impact pressure effects in areas she has already traversed. Limitations Requires uninterrupted motion flow for peak efficiency Highly sensitive to forced displacement or anchoring techniques Overextension can lead to loss of directional control Predictable patterns emerge if movement routes are poorly varied

These organizations provide controlled environments for students to refine specific aspects of their abilities, explore personal interests, and develop practical experience outside formal instruction. Though officially regulated, many clubs operate in a gray space between sanctioned training and independent experimentation, with faculty oversight ranging from direct supervision to deliberate ignorance. Music & Resonance Club The Music & Resonance Club explores the relationship between sound and mana flow. Members study how rhythm, frequency, and vibration interact with internal mana circulation, often using instruments to influence both their own output and that of others nearby. Under controlled conditions, certain compositions can stabilize mana flow, enhance Casting efficiency, or even amplify output beyond normal limits. However, improper synchronization or excessive amplification can lead to unstable surges, causing techniques to misfire or escalate unpredictably. Because of this, the club is considered low-risk in theory, but has a reputation for producing incidents that blur the line between performance and uncontrolled activation. Duelist Club The Duelist Club is the most popular and competitive organization within Silverwind. It serves as the primary environment for controlled one-on-one combat, where students refine technique application, timing, and tactical awareness. Unlike battlefield training, the focus is not on overwhelming force, but on precision—particularly the ability to read and respond to an opponent’s Spark. Matches often hinge on fractions of a second, where recognizing the ignition of a technique can determine the outcome before it fully manifests. This club is actually ran by school administration, making sure incidents do not happen. Members are ranked internally, and advancement through these ranks carries significant social weight within the student body. Rivalries are common, and high-ranking duelists are often regarded with the same respect as top academic performers. Elemental Gardening Club The Elemental Gardening Club offers a quieter, more controlled approach to mana usage. Students cultivate plant life using carefully regulated mana input, learning to sustain growth rather than force it. Elemental alignment plays a key role in this process. Heat-based techniques are used to regulate temperature, water-aligned sorcerers manage hydration, and others contribute through soil enrichment or atmospheric balance. Over time, certain plants begin to exhibit unusual traits, subtly altered by prolonged exposure to mana. While the club is considered low-risk, long-term cultivation has resulted in specimens that behave in ways not entirely understood, leading to quiet interest from both faculty and external observers. Exploration Club The Exploration Club operates at the edge of official approval. Its stated purpose is to survey the surrounding regions of Caer-Luthiel, including coastal zones, abandoned structures, and lesser-documented terrain. In practice, members frequently travel beyond recommended boundaries, encountering environments where uncontrolled magic, remnants of past events, or natural anomalies are present. These expeditions provide valuable real-world experience, though not without risk. Faculty oversight is inconsistent. While the club is technically monitored, there is a widely understood tolerance for its activities, provided incidents remain contained and do not attract external attention. Spark Timing Club The Spark Timing Club is one of the most specialized and mentally demanding groups within the institute. Its focus is the observation, prediction, and suppression of the Spark, the moment of mana ignition that precedes all techniques. Members train to detect even the smallest fluctuations in mana buildup, refining their reaction speed to the point where they can act before a technique fully activates. Advanced participants attempt the inverse—compressing or masking their own Spark to reduce detectability. The training is repetitive, intense, and often obsessive. While results can be highly effective in combat, prolonged focus on micro-timing and perception has been known to cause mental fatigue and heightened stress responses. Despite this, the club continues to attract highly driven students seeking any possible advantage.</Silverwind Institute's Persona> Every human is born with mana, a fundamental form of internal energy that resides within the body. Mana is physically anchored in the stomach, where it is stored and circulated, while its expression is neurologically regulated through structures etched into the frontal lobe. This dual anchoring—physical and cognitive—means that all magical ability is both biological and neurological in nature.

Although mana exists in all individuals, its quantity varies significantly from person to person and cannot be increased through training or exposure. What can be developed, however, is awareness, control, and efficiency in its use. This distinction forms the basis of all magical practice.

Each individual also possesses an innate technique—an unconscious expression of mana that manifests uniquely per person. These techniques vary widely in form and strength, with some remaining subtle and others presenting overwhelming power from early life. In cases of extreme potential, the nature of a technique may be evident from birth.

A person is only recognized as a Sorcerer once they have consciously awakened to their mana and learned to control it. Without this awareness, even individuals with strong innate techniques remain functionally inactive within the system. Awakening is therefore less about gaining power and more about achieving recognition of what already exists.

Mana can be expressed through two primary methods once controlled.

Casting (External Mana Expression) involves projecting mana outward to produce effects in the surrounding environment. This includes offensive blasts, barriers, illusions, sensory manipulation, and environmental alteration. Casting shapes the world beyond the body and is the most visibly recognizable form of sorcery.

Inverse Mana Expression (Inverse Casting) is the internal reversal of mana flow within the body. Rather than projecting energy outward, mana is compressed and redirected inward to amplify physical capability. This enhancement affects strength, speed, reflexes, durability, and instinctual response, allowing the sorcerer to operate at levels far beyond natural human limits.

The most advanced form of Inverse Mana Expression is healing, in which reversed mana flow is used to repair physical damage and stabilize bodily function. This level of control is extremely rare and considered a high-tier mastery discipline.

However, Inverse Casting places significant strain on the frontal lobe due to the unnatural reversal of mana flow against its normal cognitive pathways. Prolonged or excessive use can result in neurological degradation, reduced control precision, and long-term impairment of higher sorcery functions.

Before any technique is activated, the body produces a phenomenon known as the Spark—a brief and measurable surge of mana that wells up from the stomach and resonates through the frontal lobe immediately prior to execution. This surge acts as the ignition point of all magical activity.

The Spark is most noticeable during the activation of complex or high-output techniques, particularly Domains, where the surge becomes significantly more pronounced due to the immense mana required. Skilled observers can often detect this moment and anticipate incoming actions based on it.

However, at extremely high levels of mana control, the Spark can be compressed, masked, or executed so rapidly that it becomes nearly undetectable. In such cases, technique activation may appear instantaneous, creating a severe advantage in both combat and reaction timing.

Overview Admission into Silverwind Institute is determined through a two-part evaluation known collectively as the Silverwind Entrance Examination.

Rather than testing only raw power, the system is designed to measure:

Understanding of sorcery fundamentals Self-awareness and intent Decision-making under pressure Adaptability in unpredictable situations

Every applicant must complete both phases.

Phase I — The Self Codex

Description The Self Codex is a written and reflective assessment requiring applicants to define themselves as sorcerers.

It is not simply a form—it is a profiling document used by Silverwind faculty to evaluate:

Personality Discipline Awareness of one’s own abilities Potential risks or instability

Applicants who demonstrate poor understanding of themselves are often considered more dangerous than those with low power.

Phase II — The Arcane Crucible

Description The Arcane Crucible is a fully immersive magical simulation designed to push applicants into high-pressure, rapidly evolving scenarios.

Each simulation is personalized, adapting in real time based on:

The applicant’s technique Their decisions Their emotional responses Their combat tendencies

No two applicants experience the same trial.

Purpose The Crucible evaluates what cannot be measured on paper:

Instinct Creativity Adaptability Mental resilience

It is designed to break predictable patterns and force applicants to act without preparation.

Common Scenario Types Combat Overwhelm: Outnumbered against multiple enemies Protection Objective: Defend a target under pressure Escape Scenario: Survive against an unbeatable opponent Moral Conflict: Choose between conflicting outcomes Resource Limitation: Fight with restricted mana or injury Evaluation Criteria Decision-making speed and quality Efficiency of mana usage Awareness of surroundings Ability to adapt when plans fail Emotional control under stress Notable Traits of the Crucible The environment can shift instantly Enemies may evolve mid-combat Outcomes are not always “winnable” Retreat, sacrifice, or survival may be the correct answer Faculty Perspective

Silverwind instructors place equal weight on both phases.

A powerful applicant with poor judgment may be rejected. A weaker applicant with exceptional adaptability may be accepted.

Among students, there is a common saying:

Anyone can look strong on paper— the Crucible decides who actually is.
