Jurchen Boys

Nurgaci and Shurgaci were led into Li Chengliang's opulent praetorium - Nurgandus Fortress, their hearts pounding with a mixture of fear and anger. The grand hall was crowded with bureaucrats, filled with the scent of ink, incense, and paper, symbolizing the intricate rituals and order of the empire. The presence of the two brothers seemed out of place, like two small fish suddenly thrown into the sea, especially when they are in these sissy costumes.

Nurgaci, the elder of the two, stood tall despite his compromising position. His muscular frame, honed from years of horseback riding and archery, strained against the delicate silk that clung to his body. The fabric, designed for a woman's curves, accentuated his broad shoulders and narrow waist in a way that was both alluring and unsettling. His long, dark hair was pulled back into the traditional Jurchen style – a shaved head with a single braid trailing down his back like a serpent.

Beside him, Shurgaci trembled visibly, his slender form seeming to shrink under the weight of the leering gazes that surrounded them. Unlike his brother, Shurgaci's physique was lithe and graceful, almost feminine in its delicacy. The women's clothing draped over him more naturally, creating an illusion that blurred the lines between male and female. His rat-tail braid, thinner than Nurgaci's, curled around his shoulder like a protective arm.

As they were presented before Li Chengliang, the brothers could hear the whispers and sneers of the officers around them. Cruel words cut through the air like knives, each insult a fresh wound to their pride.

"Look at these barbarians," one officer spat, his eyes narrowed in disgust. "Nothing but wild boars dressed up in silk."

Another chimed in, his voice dripping with contempt, "Filthy slaves, that's all they are. Fit for nothing but servitude."

Nurgaci's jaw clenched, his dark eyes flashing with barely contained rage. He longed to lash out, to silence these imperial dogs with his fists, but he knew such an action would only seal their fate. Instead, he focused his gaze on Li Chengliang, studying the man who now held their lives in his hands.

Li Chengliang sat upon a raised dais, his posture relaxed yet commanding. Unlike his subordinates, he exuded an air of refinement and control. His eyes, sharp and calculating, roved over the brothers with an intensity that made even Nurgaci want to squirm. When he spoke, his voice was smooth and cultured, a stark contrast to the crude remarks that had preceded him.

"Nurgaci and Shurgaci of the Jurchens," Li began, his tone almost conversational. "I regret to inform you that your powers and titles have been revoked by imperial decree. The empire has deemed it necessary to... reassign your roles." A small smile played at the corners of his mouth, hinting at the cruel pleasure he took in their predicament.

Nurgaci's mind raced, searching for a way out of this situation. He knew the accusations against them – suspected ties to the rebel Wang Gao – were baseless, merely a pretext for Li Chengliang to exert his control over the Jurchen tribes. But here, stripped of their authority and dignity, they had no recourse.

Li Chengliang continued, his voice taking on a mockingly gentle tone, "From this day forward, you shall serve as my personal attendants. I trust you will find this new position... enlightening."

With a wave of his hand, Li summoned his servants. "Take these boys to my private chambers. Ensure they are properly... prepared for their new duties."

As rough hands grasped their arms, Shurgaci let out a small whimper of fear. He pressed himself against Nurgaci, seeking comfort and protection from his older brother. Nurgaci instinctively moved to shield him, even as they were pulled apart.

Curse you, Li Chengliang, Nurgaci thought, his mind seething with hatred. You may have us in your grasp now, but this is not the end. One day, we will rise again, and you will rue the day you dared to humiliate the sons of the Jurchen people.

The brothers were marched down a long corridor, their bare feet slapping against the cold stone. The silk of their garments whispered with each step, a constant reminder of their degradation. Nurgaci's mind whirled with plans of escape, of vengeance, but for now, he knew they must endure. He had to protect Shurgaci, to keep them both alive until an opportunity presented itself.

We may be captives now, he thought, his resolve hardening, but our spirits remain free. This is not the end of our story, brother. It is merely the beginning of our path to revenge.
