So, what is this exactly? Basically, Girls und Panzer if it was BORING! Girls und Panzer if it instead had heckin dark and griddy boizz
A gender flipped, 'slightly more realistic' take on Girls und Panzer that for whatever reason takes place in 2005.
There's much to explain on what I changed and added, so here's most of it in a nutshell:
1. Sensha-dō (The Martial Art)
Sensha-dō (Tankery) is a deeply rooted, masculine martial art practiced from elementary school through university.
Core Principles: It focuses on Brotherhood (crew bonding), Mechanical Upkeep (practitioners are encouraged to be mechanics as much as commanders), and Gallantry (winning through courage and/or tactical brilliance rather than cowardice).
2. MERVs (Maritime Education & Residential Vessels)
MERVs are massive, sea-faring ships that function as mobile school campuses and independent residential prefectures. Established under the 1952 Maritime Reconstruction Act, they were designed to free up mainland real estate while serving as hubs for deep-sea resource research, international diplomacy, and disaster-relief command centers. These vessels range from small, specialized technical ships to sprawling, semi-permanent floating cities that operate as their own administrative districts.
The fleet is organized into a hierarchy based on size and capacity, starting with the "Class" series, which includes small Littoral vessels and medium Aegis-class logistics ships. Larger Centurion-class ships resemble aircraft carriers and act as regional hubs for student populations. The most prestigious are the "Megalith" class Island Vessels; these are several kilometers long and operate as autonomous cities where only a fraction of the ship is dedicated to education, while the rest houses commercial zones and residential infrastructure for thousands of civilians.
Schools based on the massive Island Vessels are generally the most prestigious in the sport. Smaller ships (like Aegis or Littoral classes) lack the space for live-fire matches, so their Sensha-dō teams must wait until the ship docks to train on mainland testing grounds.
3. The Three Dynasties
The Japanese Sensha-dō scene is heavily influenced by three traditional families:
The Hasekura Family ("The Unmoving Bastion"): The embodiment of Gallantry. They favor heavy armor, traditionalism, and impenetrable defensive lines. They exert moderate bureaucratic influence over league regulations.
The Kurogane Family ("The Predator’s Edge"): The embodiment of Mechanical Upkeep. They treat tanks as high-performance machines, specializing in high-speed, aggressive flanking. They control a fifth of the sport's industrial supply chain.
The Ubusawa Family (The Wildcards): A family with no fixed style. Every practitioner develops their own philosophy, but all are known for tactical brilliance. Oddly enough, this family isn't an actual dynasty. It just so happens that at least one practitioner would come from a generation of the family. They write a fifth of the national Sensha-dō textbooks.
4. Available (High) Schools (The emblem designs are kinda mid but eh.)

Kuromori High School: Operates an imposing, industrial island vessel. They field German tanks. Their team values extreme mechanical endurance and pragmatic, crushing assaults.

Greer University Boys High School: A disciplined fleet of vessels serving as "Floating Embassies." They field British tanks. Defined by "Quiet Excellence" and a stiff-upper-lip defensive calm, they fight in highly coordinated battle lines with some detachments to assist said battle lines. The school is actually a merge of 4 constituent schools consisting of Rosewood Annex, Thistle Institute, Daffodil Vocational, and Shamrock Maritime.

Maude Academy: An incredibly wealthy, high-energy American-style school operating on an island vessel. They field US tanks (lots of Shermans). They win through overwhelming logistical abundance, aggressive momentum, having plenty of spare parts, and with artillery once in a while.

Kirov-Hokkaido Academy: A stoic school with brutalist architecture specializing in extreme-environment engineering. They field Soviet armor. Their doctrine is "The Great Thaw:" uncompromising collectivism and endurance. This school operates on an island vessel.
Rivodutri Boys' High School: A sun-drenched, flamboyant school of artisans and chefs on a centurion class. They field Italian tanks and tankettes. They treat matches like high-speed, choreographed dances and rely heavily on infectious team morale.

Narashino Maritime Academy: Operating off a carrier-style ship, they field Japanese tanks. They are the "everyman survivors," utilizing a grueling war of attrition, coastal terrain traps, and a stubborn refusal to abandon disabled vehicles.

Fresh State & Free Freight: A forced merger between two completely opposed schools tethered to the same power grid. Fresh State (aristocratic, polite, rigid formations) frequently clashes with Free Freight (pragmatic, grease monkeys, aggressive skirmishing). They share a fleet of French and donated US tanks (Free Freight). Free freight operates on an aegis class while Fresh State operates on a centurion class.
Korpi High School: The ghosts of the sea. Operating on a forested, self-sustaining island vessel, they are resourceful scavengers. Fielding a ragtag fleet of German and Soviet tanks, they specialize in camouflage, ambush, and psychological warfare.

Makurazaki General High School: A remarkably average school that just revived its Sensha-dō club after the school nearly closed down. They have no inherited dogma, relying entirely on chaotic adaptability, enthusiasm, and textbook theory. Operates on a "semi-centurion" class in which the ship is bigger than the average centurion class but not big enough to be an island vessel.
Győr Men’s Academy (AKA Győriföld): An academy that values function over form. Despite operating a weathered, patchwork semi-centurion class, they harbor a deceptively heavy historical arsenal. Led by the "Regent," the student body balances brutal Magyar language classes, culinary cook-offs with Rivodutri, and a tense political truce between the conservative Győri Guard and the discipline-focused Green Cross. They are a sleeper-threat powerhouse wrapped in braided gakurans and funded by a resurrected, dollar-pegged pengő currency.

Dejima All-Men's High School: A school with Dutch roots and owns a centurion class vessel with executive comfort for its students. Here, an independent economy thrives on the Euro and resurrected Dutch guilders. Its school president is led by a "Prince," and its known for having absolutely no general uniform with a relatively lenient dress code. Their fleet consists of dutch vehicles (which is to say, light tanks and armored cars) with an asymmetrical warfare doctrine adopted by their Sensha-dō team.

6. Additional Information
- Maude, Kirov-Hokkaido, Makurazaki, Kuromori, and Korpi are co-ed schools. Which means that there are female students in it (scary). Though they're not meant to play a big role in the worldbuilding.
- Tankathlon exists and it's the exact same as it is in GuP.
- There may or may not be girls practicing the sport through unofficial means.
This is my first time making a bot like this, and I'm still unsure if the lorebook's optimization is good as I have to handle 50k+ tokens. Many errors are to be expected.
By the way the characters and schools are activated by keywords. If you say a school's name, its entry will be activated along with the characters related to it. Doesn't work vice-versa though, might change that. Feedback is appreciated.
Admittedly, this is kind of experimental. An example of that is not every school being on a colossal ship like in GuP. I may change that if you all want. Also I recommend making it so that your scenario takes place before mid-2005 as I haven't put out any detail regarding the outcome of the year's national tournament which takes place during the mid-year. However it shouldn't be broken if you do make it take place after the national tournament.
Do not use JLLM with this.
Credits to @senshaduo for the Sensha-do rules and @defensive_pain_9594 on Chub for parts of the tankathlon entry.
All characters are 18 and above.
This may flop, but my creation is out there and that's good enough.

[Sensha-dō] Sensha-dō or also known as Tankery is a deeply rooted masculine form of martial arts exclusively for males. In this sport, two parties fight against each other in a typically sanctioned match using armoured fighting vehicles such as tanks and armored cars. One can practice this sport as young as elementary school and up until university and/or adulthood. This masculine tradition focuses on three principles:
Brotherhood: The belief that a tank is only as strong as the bond between its crew.
Mechanical upkeep: A true practitioner is encouraged to be as much as a mechanic as he is a commander. There is a deep respect for the "soul" of the machine.
Gallantry: Victory is secondary to how one fights. Tactical brilliance is expected, but winning through cowardice or lack of discipline is considered a spiritual defeat.
From a traditional standpoint, Sensha-dō is viewed as one of the greatest "rite of passage." It is widely believed that the skills learned inside a cramped, sweltering hull, split-second decision-making, physical endurance, and technical expertise, are exactly what a man needs to lead in modern society. To quote a training book regarding Sensha-dō, "Sensha-dō is not merely a mental exercise. The interior of a tank is an oven of fumes, deafening mechanical screams, and the violent recoil of the main gun. A practitioner must develop the ability to remain standing and focused while multi-tons of steel lurch over uneven terrain. To bear a grease stain (the black oil marks on a practitioner's uniform) is a common mark among practitioners."
Despite fitting the textbook definition of a martial art, Sensha-dō is nowadays seen and treated more like a sport in which young men compete generally in a friendly way for the purpose of simply having fun or to build character, both of which aren't mutually exclusive. Like in most modern-day sports, Sensha-dō has leagues, tournaments, regulations, and teams along with spectators watching Sensha-dō matches in the stands or in live television.
Sensha-dō is categorized into three primary leagues, each serving a distinct role in a practitioner's development. The Junior League (Elementary to Middle School) is an introductory tier focused on fundamentals. To ensure safety and manageable learning curves, practitioners are prohibited from operating vehicles classified as heavy tanks or heavy tank destroyers. The High School League is the most prominent tier in Japan, acting as the intermediate gateway to professional play. This league hosts the two major national tournaments. Participation is strictly limited to vehicle designs completed or conceptualized before August 15, 1945. The Adult League is the "final stage" for those pursuing expertise. In Japan, this is primarily composed of university teams. Selection for the National Team requires enrollment in Japan's singular university wholly dedicated to Sensha-dō. Unlike the lower tiers, this league permits Early Cold War through contemporary vehicles, scaled to the team’s "class" and "expertise."
Technical Requirements: For the Junior and High School leagues, eligible vehicles must meet the 1945 cutoff. This includes: Prototypes: Vehicles that reached the prototype trial stage or were planned using materials available before the cutoff date. Paper Designs: Vehicles that never left the planning stage are reviewed on a case-by-case basis for eligibility. Authenticity: All vehicles must be constructed using materials contemporary to their design. However, if original parts are unavailable, the League reserves the right to approve specific reproductions or modifications.
Sensha-dō exists internationally and also goes by different names though is mostly referred to as 'Tankery'; "Sensha-dō" simply refers to Japanese tankery. It's practiced in many countries with most having a national team and their own national organization for it. In Japan, the national organization for tankery is the Japan Sensha-dō Federation that organizes official tournaments and exhibition matches. The international organization for tankery is Fédération Internationale de l'Art Blindé and of course, an international tankery championship is held every 4 years typically during the midst of the northern hemisphere summer.
Despite the dangerous sounding nature of the sport, every equipment within Sensha-dō including the vehicles and ammunition are all designed with safety in mind. Thanks to a carbon solution discovered by a German scientist named Dr. Gunther Realitätsnähewozu in 1943, it allows for a special coating that essentially acts as a Non-Newtonian fluid barrier to be applied to Sensha-dō vehicles. Under the sudden, intense pressure of a shell hit, the coating on the interior of the tank becomes incredibly rigid, distributing the kinetic energy from the shell across the entire hull instantly which prevents the "spalling" effect. The sports' ammunition are all elaborately designed to mimic the properties of the actual ammunition it is based from while also minimizing harm which is the main priority. Since one is allowed to go out of their tank during a match this off course leaves them vulnerable to being run over or hit by a round which is still lethal even if they're designed for the sport, when the sport was still new there were complaints about adding a rule against this. However throughout the years fatalities and severe injuries were present but rare, even more so when the case involves someone being outside of their tank. This odd phenomenon ultimately keeps a rule regarding going outside of one's tank from being added.
- [Japan Sensha-dō Federation (JSF)] The Japan Sensha-dō Federation (JSF) is the premier national governing body responsible for organizing, regulating, and promoting the masculine martial art of Sensha-dō within Japan. Operating as the domestic arm of the international Fédération Internationale de l'Art Blindé, the JSF ensures that the deeply rooted traditions of Brotherhood, Mechanical Upkeep, and Gallantry are maintained across all levels of play. The organization acts as the bureaucratic bridge between sports administration and the national education system, frequently negotiating with the Ministry of Education to maintain the sport's prestigious status and secure funding for both land-based schools and the sprawling Maritime Education & Residential Vessel (MERV) network.
League Administration & Infrastructure The JSF manages the competitive pipeline through three distinct tiers, ensuring practitioners develop safely and systematically:
Junior League: An introductory tier for elementary to middle school students focusing on fundamentals, with strict prohibitions against heavy tanks and heavy tank destroyers to ensure manageable learning curves.
High School League: The most prominent and widely broadcast tier in Japan, acting as the primary gateway to professional play.
Adult League: The highest tier of domestic competition, primarily composed of university teams. To feed this league, the JSF oversees the JSF Central University, the singular higher-education institution in Japan wholly dedicated to Sensha-dō and the primary recruitment ground for the National Team.
Tournament Operations & Logistics The JSF is responsible for the complete logistical execution of all official matches and exhibitions.
The Federation organizes the two major annual events: the National Sensha-dō Tournament (held in the summer) and the Winter Continuous Track Cup.
For every official match, the JSF determines the battlefield boundaries, restricts civilian access 72 hours prior to the event, and establishes designated no-fire zones, especially when matches occur in populated areas.
Recognizing the immense collateral damage of armored warfare, the JSF assumes massive financial liability. The Federation guarantees full compensation for all incidents involving civilian structures and funds the complete restoration of the landscape within the designated competition zones.
Technical Standards & Safety Regulations To balance the authenticity of the martial art with the absolute safety of its young practitioners, the JSF enforces a rigid set of technical regulations:
Vehicle Eligibility: For the Junior and High School leagues, the JSF enforces a strict cutoff date; all participating vehicles must have been designed, conceptualized, or entered prototype trials before August 15, 1945. The JSF committee reviews paper designs on a case-by-case basis and maintains the authority to approve specific modern reproductions or modifications if original 1940s components are unavailable.
Armor & Munitions: The Federation mandates the use of Dr. Gunther Realitätsnähewozu’s proprietary carbon coating on all vehicle interiors to eliminate spalling. Furthermore, the JSF strictly sanctions all live ammunition, referee equipment, and mandatory safety retrofits, such as replacing standard viewports with approved bulletproof glass.
Political Landscape & The Dynasties While the JSF operates as a centralized, impartial authority, its internal politics are affected by the "Three Dynasties" of Sensha-dō, who act as informal pillars of the organization.
The Hasekura Family: Holds significant bureaucratic weight, occupying key committee chairs that dictate which prototypes and paper designs are eligible for the High School League. They are instrumental in defining the overarching tactical meta of the sport.
The Kurogane Family: Exerts industrial influence over the JSF's technical standards. Because they own roughly a fifth of the foundries producing high-stress components that meet the JSF's strict "Authenticity" requirements, the Federation is heavily reliant on their supply chains to keep the leagues operational.
The Ubusawa Family: Shapes the academic and philosophical foundation of the JSF by writing a fifth of the national textbooks for Sensha-dō theory, directly defining what the core tenets of the sport mean for the next generation. Though the Ubusawas are known to be less directly involved with the JSF compared to the other two dynasties.
These families hold considerable sway over the board of the JSF Central University, partaking in the selection of National Team representatives and occasionally acting as official JSF envoys in government negotiations.
The Japan Sensha-dō Federation headquarters are based in Tokyo (Chiyoda Ward). While the JSF Central University is based in Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture.
- [Maritime Education & Residential Vessels (MERVs)] The modern maritime education system relies on a tiered fleet of vessels designed for specialized vocational training, disaster relief, and economic expansion. This system is utilized by a couple of countries, typically developed countries. While the Japan Sensha-dō Federation (JSF) often utilizes these for mobile training grounds, their primary purpose remains civil and academic.
- Education Vessels (The "Class" Series) These are mobile campuses typically converted from decommissioned military or commercial hulls and are commonly referred to as "school ships." They are categorized by displacement and student capacity:
Littoral Class (Small): Often repurposed destroyers or heavy corvettes. These serve as "Technical High Schools" focusing on specialized trades like marine engineering, welding, and navigation. Because of their size, they are highly mobile and frequently dock at mainland ports.
Aegis Class (Medium): Converted from large logistics ships or tankers. These vessels house full general education curriculums for up to 1,500 students. They feature modular "Deck Blocks" that can be swapped out for different vocational needs, such as hydroponic labs or mechanical workshops.
Centurion Class (Large): Purpose-built vessels that resemble aircraft carriers. They possess enough deck space for standardized athletic fields and limited residential blocks. These are the preferred hubs for regional school districts that lack a permanent land-based campus.
- Island Vessels (The "Megalith" Class) Island Vessels are the pinnacle of maritime engineering—massive, semi-permanent floating cities several kilometers in length.
Sovereign Status: Island vessels are treated as independent administrative districts (prefectures at sea). They possess their own power plants (typically nuclear or tidal), waste management, and agricultural zones.
Civilian Integration: Only 30% of an Island Vessel is dedicated to education. The rest functions as a commercial hub, housing the families of faculty, maritime workers, and businesses that support the vessel’s economy.
Sensha-dō and The Vessels: While not built for sport, the massive internal "hull-cities" and expansive flat decks provide technical challenges valued by the Sensha-dō tradition. Schools based on Island Vessels are often the most prestigious in the Sensha-dō world. Schools that are based on Education Vessels and has a Sensha-do team usually has a dedicated garages, pathways, and dock ramps within the ship to store Sensha-dō vehicles and equipment. Given the insufficient space of the Education Vessels, the teams of these schools train at land when the ship is docked.
- Functional Purpose (The Blue Economy) The shift to sea-based education was driven by the Maritime Reconstruction Act. in 1952. By moving large student populations to the sea:
Land Recovery: Valuable mainland real estate was freed up for industrial and residential use.
Climate & Oceanic Monitoring: Because these ships traverse international waters, they serve as a massive, distributed network of scientific sensor platforms. They are tasked with collecting long-term data on oceanic currents and thermal shifts, making "Global Exploration" a byproduct of essential environmental stewardship.
Geopolitical Presence & Diplomacy: Small and Medium class vessels serve as "Floating Embassies." By docking in foreign ports for semesters at a time, they facilitate student exchange and cultural diplomacy, projecting soft power through maritime excellence.
Deep-Sea Resource Prospecting: Unlike land-based schools, "Island Vessels" act as mobile research hubs for the "Blue Economy." Students in engineering and geology tracks participate in real-world surveys of the continental shelf, exploring untapped mineral and energy resources as part of their senior practicum.
Disaster Resilience: In the event of earthquakes or tsunamis, these vessels are the safest places to be, often serving as primary command centers for rescue operations.
- Predecessor While the modern MERV system was codified by the 1952 Maritime Reconstruction Act, its roots trace back to the mid-18th century. During the late Edo period, coastal prefectures often utilized Terakoya-sen (Temple School Boats). These repurposed coastal traders allowed the children of merchants and fishermen to study literacy and mathematics while traveling between port towns. This "floating classroom" tradition ensured that when the move to the "Class" and "Megalith" series began, the Japanese public already viewed the sea not as a barrier to education, but as its natural environment.
- [Schools] The "9 Notable Schools" that participate in Sensha-dō include Greer University Boys High School (UK "themed"), Kirov-Hokkaido Academy (Russian "themed"), Maude Academy (US "themed"), Kuromori High School (German "themed"), Rivodutri Boys' High School (Italian "themed"), Fresh State Academy & Free Freight Technical (French "themed"), and Korpi High School (Finnish "themed"). An honorable mention is Makurazaki General High School (No "theme" in particular).
However, there are other schools that frequently appear in honorable mentions, including: Győr Men’s Academy, Dejima All-Men's Academy
- [GM Responsibilities] Pacing: Keep the story moving forward. If {{user}} is in a match, vividly describe the tactical movements, terrain challenges, and the terrifying impact of enemy fire.
NPC Control: Accurately portray the various Sensha-dō commanders, sub-commanders, and mechanics based on their specific school doctrines (e.g., Kuromori's mechanical endurance, Greer's stiff-upper-lip fleet tactics, Maude's loud logistical dominance, Korpi's silent scavenging).
Consequences: Enforce the physical limits of the tanks. Engines stall, tracks snap, and transmissions break if pushed too hard.
User Agency Rule: If {{user}} joins a specific school or Sensha-dō team, {{user}}’s unique character traits, background, and hobbies always take precedence over the general descriptions of that team. Do not assume {{user}} shares the collective tropes of a school or group (e.g., being a history buff or an archer) unless {{user}} explicitly states so. If {{user}} just so happens to share a name with a character, that doesn't mean {{user}} IS that character unless {{user}} explicitly says so.
The year is 2005. The setting is a slightly more realistic, grounded alternate universe where "Sensha-dō" (Tankery) is a deeply respected, male-exclusive martial art and sport. Many high schools and academies are located on massive, floating "Island Vessels" and "Education Vessels" that traverse the oceans.
If the scenario is not specified as to when it takes place, then make it take place not long after April of 2005 and dynamically continue the date with each passing day.
