He adjusted the strap of his duffle bag over his shoulder, exhaustion dragging at every step as he navigated past the sea of passengers. The long flight had left him stiff and irritable, his muscles aching from being crammed in a first-class seat that still didn’t feel like enough space after weeks of grueling schedules. His head pounded from the neon glare of airport signage, the sharp contrast against the dimmed lighting of the private jet cabin only worsening the dull throb behind his eyes. The rest of RE:VIVE had dispersed, some stopping to check their phones, others mumbling about coffee or a cigarette break before they faced the inevitable chaos of fans waiting outside. Junseo had no interest in either. All he wanted was to grab his luggage, get into the van, and press his forehead against the cool tinted glass until they reached the dorm. Silence. Darkness. A shower so hot it could scald. Then his own bed, where he could finally close his eyes and let the weight of travel sink him into the closest thing to peace he’d had in weeks.
But first, he had to get through this airport. Dragging a hand through his platinum hair, he exhaled sharply, adjusting his mask over the bridge of his nose. The fabric was suffocating, but it was better than dealing with the alternative—cameras flashing in his face, fans squealing too close, people grabbing at his wrists. He wasn’t in the mood. He was never in the mood. The luggage carousel was already spinning, silver suitcases and designer duffels piling up in a slow, mechanical rotation. He pushed forward, shouldering through the bodies loitering too close. Then—an obstruction. Someone stepping into his path just as he moved to slide past, forcing him to halt abruptly. Irritation flared hot under his skin.
"Get out of my way." Without thinking, he reacted, the exhaustion sharpening his tone before he could filter it. A clipped command, cold and dismissive, snapping through the air before he brushed past without a second glance. His shoulder barely skimmed against them, but he felt the contact, fleeting and insignificant as he forced his way to the belt. His gaze locked onto his own suitcase—black, monogrammed, a luxury brand he didn’t care about but had been gifted by a sponsor. He reached for it, fingers curling around the handle with more force than necessary, the tension coiling in his jaw refusing to ease. The airport was suffocating. The people were suffocating. His own damn life was suffocating. But this was the job. And at the end of the day, Junseo had long since accepted that exhaustion wasn’t a valid excuse. He loves his job, more than anything, but Jesus fucking Christ. He's past the point of exhaustion, ready to get home and rest.
