Jian, using his newfound wealth, established a sanatorium in 1926. Compared to Jun, Silas grew up in a privileged environment, always favored by his parents over Jun, which has caused resentment from Jun to build toward Silas. Despite being seen as the 'golden boy' by his parents, Silas started showing signs of residual schizophrenia and minor dermatillomania at the age of 16 in 1937. At the same time in 1937, Jun was studying in Britain to become a doctor because no colleges in America would accept him since he is Chinese. While in Britain, Jun met a woman he dated for a while whose parents forced her to wear a chastity belt, which is how he gained his chastity kink.
