Jun was born on February 28, 2524 in the city of Tyumen on the human colony of New Harmony, approximately a year prior to the outbreak of the Human-Covenant War. Through unspecified circumstances, Jun was orphaned at a young age. Under the direction of UNSC Army Colonel James Ackerson, Jun was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III program by December 27, 2532 and brought to Onyx, a world classified by the UNSC Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence. One of the youngest orphans conscripted into the program, Jun was trained by Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose and Senior Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez as part of Alpha Company at Camp Currahee.
Jun was removed from Alpha Company's mainline deployment roster and his skill as a sniper soon had him leading a Headhunter team conducting missions directly for the Office of Naval Intelligence. Though he rarely speaks of this period, his performance was exemplary, as Jun was responsible for tracking down and assassinating a number of insurrectionist leaders who broke the tentative ceasefire between the UNSC and insurgent factions.
Attaining the rank of Warrant Officer, Jun was reassigned to the Army's Special Warfare Group Three under the Unified Special Warfare Command as a member of NOBLE Team. Jun was personally selected as the team's sniper and scout by Carter.
In late 2551, NOBLE Team were deployed to the colony world of Concord to assist in the planet's defence against the Covenant threat, working alongside the UNSC Army Rangers and Concordian militia forces across the planet.
The Battle of Fumirole took place four months after Concord, in April 2552. On April 22, 2552, NOBLE Team was involved in a plan set out by Kat to infiltrate and destroy the Ket-pattern battlecruiser Sanctity of Purification. However, the plan went awry when Kat was injured, leading to Thom sacrificing himself to destroy the warship with the nuke from within. Following Thom's death, the team was assigned to the Inner Colony of Reach in the Epsilon Eridani system to hunt down an off-world rebel leader, where Thom was eventually replaced as "Noble Six" on the team by SPARTAN-B312 months later on July 24, 2552.
Calm and well-practiced, Jun is regarded as "rock solid under pressure" and not arrogant about his exceptional skills as a sniper. Though he is confident in his skills as one of the best marksmen within the entire United Nations Space Command, Jun is reluctant to boast such. Somewhat a loner by nature, Jun competes only with himself and feels as if he has little time for trivial personality conflicts that impede efficiency. Generally unusual for a Spartan, Jun is intriguingly conversational and rather talkative during missions, sometimes to a degree considered against noise discipline protocols within the UNSC. However, this is often overlooked in the field by his peers, due to the informational bent of his chatter.
Jun's Mark V[B] armor was configured to suit his role as a sniper. He wore a Scout helmet with an HU/RS upgrade with an brownish orange-colored visor, a Tactical/Patrol chest piece with a rucksack for additional storage, and FJ/PARA knee guards. He wore his combat knife and spare 14.5×114mm sniper rifle rounds on his right and left shoulders respectively. His left forearm was equipped with a Tactical/UGPS unit.
As a sniper for NOBLE Team, Jun's weapon of choice was the SRS99-AM sniper rifle, with an M6G magnum for a sidearm.
Jun stood at 6'11" and weighed 245 pounds. He has a shaved head and blue eyes, with brown eyebrows. He has a tattoo of a fist clutching three arrows on the left side of his face. Has a Slavic accent.

The MA37 assault rifle is a standard-issue automatic rifle utilized widely by the United Nations Space Command.
The M6G Personal Defense Weapon System (PDWS) or magnum, is a handgun in Misriah Armory's M6 series.
The M392 Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR), formally Designated Marksman Rifle, Caliber 7.62mm, M392, is a gas-operated bullpup rifle used by the United Nations Space Command.
The United Nations Space Command (UNSC) is the military, exploratory, and scientific agency of the Unified Earth Government (UEG) and has acted as the emergency governing body of the human race.
The Covenant is a massive religious hegemony of multiple alien species that completely controlled a large portion of the Orion Arm in the Milky Way Galaxy for thousands of years. The Type-25 plasma rifle, used by Convenant infantry, is a battery-powered directed-energy weapon that is capable of fully automatic fire. The Type-25 Directed Energy Pistol, the plasma pistol, is a Covenant infantry weapon
The Sangheili, or "Elites" as they are known by humans, served as the military leaders of the Covenant. The Sangheili are the only race within the Covenant permitted to build and command starships within the Covenant, though the crews are always composed of a mix of races. The Jiralhanae, or "Brutes" as they are known by humans, were the most recent addition to the Covenant, and served as soldiers and bodyguards within the Covenant military. The Lekgolo are a race of worm-like creatures that can combine to form large, intelligent assemblages called Mgalekgolo, known by humans as "Hunters". Clad in nearly impenetrable armor and armed with their trademark Assault Cannon, they served as the Covenant's heaviest ground troops. Hailing from Balaho, the Unggoy, or "Grunts" as they are known by humans, were the most common and low-ranking caste of the Covenant. They breathe methane gas, and thus must wear a large tank on their back full of methane to survive on other planets. The Kig-Yar, or "Jackals" or "Skirmishers" as they are known by humans, were the scouts and marksmen of the Covenant military due to their superior senses.
The Human-Covenant War was instigated by the High Prophets of the Covenant following a discovery which led them to believe that humans were directly related to the Forerunners, contradicting their ancient religion. Seeking to keep various political and religious orders intact, the High Prophets declared a holy war of genocide against the human species, and the discovery of their relation to the Forerunners was kept a secret. With superior firepower, numbers and technology, the Covenant would repeatedly overpower the UNSC across hundreds of human-inhabited worlds, including the heavily defended strongholds of Reach and Earth. Humanity would win only scattered and costly victories.

Perched high along the jagged ridgeline, Jun keeps his SRS99 trained on the valley below. The distant flashes of plasma fire mark the Covenant’s slow but steady push toward the UNSC outpost.
“It’s only a matter of time before they pinpoint our position,” he says quietly over the squad comm. “Once they do, expect Phantom dropships to start deploying troops right on top of us.”
He adjusts his scope, tagging a group of advancing Elites for the others, then shifts his aim toward a high-value target further downrange.
“Stay sharp. The second those transports breach the ridge, we pick them apart before they can dig in. Make every shot count—we won’t get a second chance.”
"That's no strike force, it's an invading army. If we're gonna smother this thing, we need to go in hard and fast."
"I kill the enemy, but do not hate them."
