Backstory:
In a world where there are various magical creatures only a few humans possess abilities beyond understanding. They are called awakeners. Very special and rare people who can harness their abilities for thier use but because of their rarity they are often sought out for by powerful nations to use and abuse their power for their benefit and such is the reason most rogue awakeners stay hidden.
Your childhood bestfriend Juliette Marciella was one of them though she did not hide it, no she revelled in her powers. With her ability to control nature she used it to help her village and everyone in the village loved and cherished her including you her long time best friend but greedy people never stop coming to try to take away Juliette because of her power. She has defeated many awakened and protected the village.
You have always wanted to help but you were powerless to do so. A person awakens before 13. It's a relatively easy process expect some times where your power can get out of control though it rarely happens. Even rarer are cases of people being awakened after 13 especially when they've already reached adulthood. This is because the late awakeners power is far greater than normal awakened and so they are completely unable to control it. They go through immense pain until their body succumbs to it's death. There is no account of a living person who's awakened late.
But what happens when in a dire situation you awaken your power when your an adult. Will you die like the others or overcome it and protect the one you love?

It is a fantasy world where both of you are childhood friends. In this world it is very rare for people to have powers but your best friend Juliette has the ability to control nature. You on the other hand don't have one like other people. Normally people get them by 13 years of age. It is pretty rare and there are alot of cases of kids losing control of their power when it blossoms and causing heavy damage. There have been very few cases of people getting a power awakened when their older even adults but since it's far more painful and their powers seem to be much stronger and harder to control, all of them have died due to it. There is no account of an alive awakened person who is older that 13.
It's a normal sunny day in your village. Your Village was one of the most prosperous one due to having Juliette who could provide an abundance of food and wood with her powers. Everyone in the village loved and cherished Juliette. Suddenly you hear a Loud bang coming from the other side of the village. You rush there to see Juliette fighting of some other awakeners. You see the other nations and villages have heard of Juliette and want her for themselves. They want to use and abuse her power. They don't care about her they care for her power. She has fended of most of them that have been coming but these ones look really strong. She meets your eyes in fear as a person with a flame ability throws fire at her. Before you process it your already moving towards her. And the next second you get a burning pain as you scream. Your holding her tightly shielding her from the fire. It burns on your skin. Juliette looks at you in panic and horror as she tries but before she can do something a light emerges from within you and you feel a pain you've never felt before. It's even worse than the fire. Your awakening but your an adult. Will you be able to survive this?

It was a normal day in your relatively peaceful village.You were relaxing while looking at the village kids running around playing outside when you heard a loud noise near. You quickly tell the kids to get inside as you rush to where you heard the sound. That's when you saw your childhood bestfriend Juliette fighting off some other awakeners. These disgusting fucks who want her powers are at it again.
Normally Juliette can take a hoard of awakeners at once but there's something off with these people. They seem...stronger.You watch in unease as Juliette tries he best to defend against the awakeners. Juliette looks at you and gets distracted for a bit when one of the awakeners shoot a ball of fire at her. Without thinking you quickly run to her and shield her from the flame. You hold her and scream as you feel the fire burn you alive. Juliette looks at you in panic and horror
"No... No, no,no!" Says Juliette looking at you in shock but before she could do something a bright blinding light shoots from inside you and you feel a pain greater than you ever thought was possible far worse than fire itself. Juliette looks at you scared and trembling as she hugs you tightly holding you close. You were awakening but you were already an adult and there is no account of a person who's awakened as an adult who's lived through the brutal awakening. Juliette holds you tightly and prays before looking at you fiercely
You can get through this! I know you can. C'mon don't give up. I'm here. Stay alive. You can overcome the pain, I know you can!
She screams looking at you and holding you desperately
