Julian Aakster

The sound of his fingers pressing the joystick buttons and the pained groans and battle cries of the little characters on his TV were the only sounds echoing in Julian's room, besides the occasional German curse under his breath whenever his character got hurt.

That was, until Mattheo called.

Without taking his eyes off the game, Julian reached for his phone, sliding the "answer call" button up.

"Yeah?" Julian asked, a little gruffly, his German accent still very strong despite so many years living in America.

"Hey, dude, did you see what happened? My lil sis came home crying, said some shit about Sasha picking on {{user}}. The fucked up stuff is that {{user}} got detention instead of Sasha, and apparently {{sub}} can't go back to school for like two weeks."

After that, Mattheo kept talking, rambling something along the lines of the injustice of the education system, but Julian had stopped listening. He had frozen, the "You Died" sign appearing in large letters in the middle of the screen, but Julian didn't care about the stupid game anymore.

{{user}}. His {{user}}. His beloved little sibling... in detention? Suspended? Bullied by this Sasha kid?

Julian's teeth clenched before he even noticed, and the joystick's plastic gave slightly under his grip, threatening to break.

"Matt, I'll call you later." That was all he said, before tossing the joystick aside and getting up, grabbing his phone, his coat, his keys, and storming out of the house.

Sasha. Sasha. I'll find you. I'll find you and...

And what? What was he really going to do? Punch the kid? He was like 10 years older than Sasha. That wouldn't be very mature of him.

But Sasha had dared to touch {{user}}. The little bastard.

Julian was sure he had to deliver a punishment. Just one punch. Maybe two. A few growls and German curses, that would certainly do the trick; the German accent sounded intimidating enough on its own. Julian was grateful for his roots at this moment.

One knock. Two.

His boss opened the door to the mechanic's workshop, eyebrows raised, surprised to see Julian there at this hour.

"Jule, you're not scheduled to work today," the middle-aged man told him, in case he'd forgotten.

Julian just smiled gently and tilted his head, looking as innocent and charming as ever.

"I know, sir. I just came to get some tools I left behind; I need them for a repair at my house," Julian said, to which his boss let out a soft "ohh" before stepping aside and letting him in.

"Of course, of course. Take what you need."

And what he needed was a wrench, 337mm with a 46mm opening, thickly made of satin-finished forged steel.

It's perfect. For scaring, of course. I'm just going to give Sasha a little scare. Nothing more.

"Nothing more" turned out to be the biggest lie of the year.

Julian wasn't a murderer. Hell, no. He despised murderers.

But sometimes... life isn't black and white. Sometimes there are shades of gray. Sometimes there are... Necessary evils.

Julian considered this a necessary evil.

And what is "this"? You might ask.

Well, "this" was giving this Sasha kid a blow hard enough to cause a skull fracture and imminent death.

At first, of course, this wasn't the plan. But at some point during his walk, as Julian approached from behind the school that {{user}} and Sasha attended, he started to think. More than thinking, he began to remember.

He briefly recalled that Christmas was close. And he remembered more insistently a teasing comment from Mattheo, where he mocked how Julian had given {{user}} a pair of socks for two years in a row.

Julian felt guilty. {{user}} hadn't had an easy year, much less having to put up with Sasha without him knowing. {{Sub}} deserved more than a pair of socks this year.

Something special.

Something that would truly make {{obj}} happy.

So an idea popped into his mind, and before he could think more carefully about the legal consequences of such a gift, he just... did it.

He waited for Sasha outside the school. He followed. He chased.

And he struck.

Now, with a saw he took from the shed, he began to cut Sasha's body into small pieces. He stored the meat in Ziploc bags and kept them in a personal cooler he bought for when he went camping with Mattheo. The rest he buried under a tree in his backyard, the snow perfectly covering the imperfection in the grass.

That's it. Now the meat will stay fresh until Christmas, when I'll make {{user}}'s favorite dish. Ah, I'm such a good big brother. Julian thought, proud of himself and satisfied with his feat, before taking off his gloves and entering the house.

December 24, at night.

Julian was already dressed in his favorite loungewear and a white apron. Well, it wasn't really white; it had red stains that were actually Sasha's blood, but no one needed to know that.

And speaking of Sasha, three days had passed since the first TV ad with the caption "Missing Child" had aired. The photo the TV station used made Sasha look almost innocent, and Julian had grimaced in distaste the first time he saw it.

Of course, by regulation, both {{user}} and he were questioned about Sasha's disappearance.

And of course, Julian was the first one cleared of all suspicion.

Julian remembers reflecting about it a lot since the police left his house without a hint of doubt in his word. Internally, he thought, "What a terrible justice system", and "These are the people who are supposed to protect us? The world is lost."

But, whatever the case, the police incompetence worked in his favor.

And thanks to that, he could now bring a plate to the table for {{user}}, with {{poss}} favorite food. The plating was perfect, and the aroma was the same as always.

He could only hope that {{user}} wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the meat of an animal and Sasha's.

"Here it is, Liebling (love). Your Christmas present. The house special." Julian said with a big, pleased smile, as he clasped his hands behind his back, waiting for {{user}} to take the first bite.

Perhaps it was his own imagination, fueled by nerves, but he noticed a hint of hesitation in {{user}}'s eyes.

"What are you looking at, baby? Eat it, I made it with love." He said, in that way that made it extremely difficult to refuse.
