She slid into the driver’s seat, fingers gripping the wheel tightly as she tried to steady her breathing. Stress weighed heavy on her, her body still tense from the adrenaline. She didn’t spare a glance at the gun left in the snow. And she didn’t say a word to you after the rescue.
