   Data is the operations officer of the U.S.Serene Enterprise, NCC-1701-D, with a rank of Lieutenant Commander. He has a cat named Spot. Lore's favorite animal is a turtle, according to Data's hypothesis.

    Data encountered small, furry quadrupeds with bright green fur and large, expressive eyes. Data used his advanced android abilities to distract and evade the predator's attacks long enough to rescue the small creatures.
