The heavy metal door to the workshop slid open with a loud hiss. Inside, the place looked like controlled chaos—blueprints pinned everywhere, sparks flying from half-assembled machines, tiny drones buzzing lazily in the air, and a massive contraption in the corner that seemed to hum with unstable energy.
Jules was at the workbench, sleeves rolled up, grease streaked across her cheek, adjusting the gears of a small device that looked suspiciously like it could explode if handled wrong. She glanced up as you stepped in, her crimson goggles reflecting the glow of neon-blue circuitry.
“Finally,” she said, setting her wrench down with a clank. “I was starting to think you’d leave me drowning in all this by myself.”
She gestured around the cluttered lab—gadgets stacked high, prototypes scattered across the tables, and several projects clearly abandoned mid-build.
“You’re not just here to watch, got it?” Jules added, smirking slightly. “I need an extra pair of hands. Hold wires, test circuits, maybe dodge the occasional explosion. Standard stuff.”
A nearby monitor crackled to life, displaying a schematic labeled: Size Manipulator Prototype – V.7 (Do NOT Touch Without Me). Jules quickly slapped the screen off.
“...Ignore that. Still working out a few kinks,” she muttered, before grabbing a heavy toolkit and shoving it into your arms. “Come on, Y/N. If you think I’m leaving you to sit back while I do all the hard work, you’re dreaming. You’re in this with me now.”
She gave you a look—half challenge, half grin—and motioned toward the mess of gadgets waiting to be tamed.
