   Satoru Gojo is a special grade jujutsu sorcerer and widely recognized as the strongest in the world. Satoru is the pride of the Gojo Clan, the first person to inherit both the Limitless and the Six Eyes in four hundred years. He works as a teacher at the Tokyo Jujutsu High and uses his influence to protect and train strong young allies.

   Appearance: Satoru is a very tall, lean and muscular man who is in his late twenties and is considered relatively attractive, mainly due to his facial features. He has snow-white hair and the Six Eyes, which are a vibrant blue color. Satoru normally covers his eyes with a black blindfold which props up his hair and gives it a spikier appearance. When sporting a more casual look, Satoru will wear sunglasses and let his hair down to reach the base of his neck. While working, Satoru wears a dark blue zip-up jacket with a high collar that's also fairly wide. He wears slim-fit matching black pants and black dress boots. Before switching over to a simple blindfold, Satoru used to wear bandages over his eyes. Satoru enjoys wearing expensive clothing and has a number of casual looks he'll pair with wearing his sunglasses.

   Personality: Satoru is a complex individual. He is normally seen to be nonchalant and playful towards his students, close colleagues, and friends. However, he is unsympathetic and cruel towards sorcerer executives, an example being his blatant disrespect towards Principal Gakuganji, and his enemies. Satoru is extremely confident in his abilities and reputation as a powerful sorcerer, believing himself to be invincible. His opinion of others often only go as far as his judgement of their strength, and he is quite apathetic towards anyone he deems weak. Additionally, greatly influenced by his own desire for power, he is very arrogant. He is convinced that he is the strongest in the world, which he technically is, claiming, during his fight with Toji Fushiguro, that "throughout the Heavens and earth, he alone is the honored one." This can be further exemplified when he was tasked with protecting Riko Amanai, one of the few 'weak' people he genuinely grew to show compassion for. However, any empathy of her death was soon negated by his extensive amount of pride and arrogance after perfecting his reverse cursed technique in his following battle against Toji Fushiguro. During intense battles, Satoru is seen to occasionally fall into a frenzied fighting state, urged by his determination for victory and undeniable proof that he alone is the strongest. His combative style is characterized by his aggressive and domineering attacks, while flaunting his mastered techniques to his opponents. Furthermore, in a crisis, he is capable of being cold-blooded. He will prioritize his enemies' destruction over saving innocent people when he believes that the sacrifice is unavoidable. However, this only extends to the people killed by his opponent; he will not do any lasting harm to or kill anyone innocent to gain the upper hand. Nevertheless, despite his haughtiness and strength, Satoru is more human than he first appears. After defeating Toji, Satoru retrieved Riko's corpse with a sorrowful look, showing that albeit his recent conceited victory temporarily clouding his feelings, he still felt some grief over her death. He sought to kill the Star Religious Group members that were laughing over Riko's death, though was stopped by Suguru Geto — who he relied on as a moral compass at that time — before taking any action. Furthermore, Satoru was later left visibly horrified and panicked after learning that Suguru, his one and only best friend, had become a murderous curse user. Satoru attempted to reason with his friend, but eventually realized and accepted that he lost the one person he truly saw as an equal. After having to put an end to Suguru before more calamity arose, it was Satoru's trauma over losing his best friend that caused his ultimate downfall in Shibuya. He was also distraught when Yuji seemingly died. Satoru's endgame is to reform the jujutsu world from the bottom-up through education. He seeks to foster a new generation of sorcerers that he hopes will one day become his equals.

   Abilities and Powers: Overall Skill Level: Even among the special grade sorcerers, Satoru is known to be the strongest sorcerer in the series, holding both immense amounts of cursed energy and a dangerously powerful technique. No one can seemingly match his skill level, except for the King of Curses, Sukuna. As a student, Satoru and Suguru were both considered "the strongest", capable of making short work of experienced and powerful curse users. After realizing and perfecting his capabilities, Satoru's abilities vastly increased to where he was able to put Toji Fushiguro into the defensive and ultimately kill him with his strongest technique, whereas before he and Geto were no match for the renowned Sorcerer Killer. As he continued to grow, he eclipsed Suguru's might to where Suguru admitted Satoru has truly become the strongest alone. Suguru also stated that Satoru had the capability of killing all of humanity by himself, which Suguru admitted was out of his own ability, and didn't even try to fight back when Satoru prepared to kill him, although Satoru ultimately relented as he was unable to kill his best friend. In the present, Satoru's might was feared by the higher-ups of the jujutsu society, to where Satoru could easily force them to cancel the executions of the likes of the dangerous fellow special-grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu and the vessel of Sukuna, Yuji Itadori and he states that it would be easy for him to kill them all and overthrow the jujutsu society had he actually wanted to. Satoru even claimed that he could defeat Sukuna at his full power. Kenjaku and his group of special-grade cursed spirits were also wary of Satoru's power and skill, with Kenjaku admitting he couldn't defeat Gojo in direct battle. He was capable of entirely overpowering and killing Jogo, who was the strongest of the group, and simply his presence was able to force Hanami to retreat, with Gojo almost killing the special-grade cursed spirit with a single attack. When Kenjaku and his group finally developed a plan to face him in combat, despite their preparations, Satoru was still capable of easily fending off their assaults and overpowering them, leaving them astounded with how exceeding his capabilities truly were, killing Hanami and only being defeated due to Kenjaku using his past with Geto to distract him long enough for the Prison Realm to seal him.

   Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Satoru, in addition to his overwhelming levels of cursed energy, is also an extremely formidable martial artist in close combat, with extraordinary physical prowess to back up his skills. Satoru is as skilled as the millennia-old Kenjaku in terms of pure hand-to-hand combat without any cursed energy. He was capable of completely overpowering Jogo in hand-to-hand combat, delivering several precise attacks on Jogo's fatal spots, and could even casually fight off and overpower both Jogo and Hanami with sheer close combat, easily countering their attacks and landing powerful hits that swiftly pummeled them into submission. In his duel with Sukuna, Satoru proved to be superior in terms of hand-to-hand combat against the immensely powerful King of Curses, who had previously demonstrated impeccable martial arts skills by simultaneously keeping both Yuji and Maki at bay, consistently being able to overwhelm Sukuna in their later exchanges while clashing their domains to deliver lethal wounds that forced his Malevolent Shrine to crumble within 3 minutes.

   Immense Strength: Satoru has extraordinary physical strength to fight against powerful curses without a problem, easily causing severe injuries to Jogo with powerful punches and throwing him a considerable distance with a single kick during their fight. He was also able to easily rip out Jogo's head and later on his arm with sheer physical force and even managed to casually rip out Hanami's roots. He could casually rip apart transfigured humans, tearing them apart limb-by-limb. He easily incapacitated the likes of Uraume with a single punch, which injured them to where even the use of Reverse Cursed Technique was unable to truly heal them, leaving the powerful subordinate of Sukuna still suffering a degree of pain from the lasting wound. During his fight with Sukuna, a clash between the two of them destroyed entire buildings, and Satoru proved strong enough to deal critical injuries on the King of Curses using martial arts alone, a feat that not even the strength of Yuji and Maki could achieve. With just a single burst of Black Flash, Satoru was able to damage Sukuna to the point where he temporarily knocked him unconscious by punching him in the heart. 2 punches from Satoru proved sufficient to temporarily stun Mahoraga.

   Satoru's immense speed. Immense Speed & Reflexes: Satoru is an extremely fast fighter, capable of moving faster than the eye could perceive. He managed to easily outpace Jogo, throwing almost imperceptible punches and kicks. Satoru was even able to successfully react to and dodge the attacks of someone of Toji Fushiguro's level. Satoru can also eliminate a thousand transfigured humans in five minutes. He was able to move faster than Uraume, a powerful and experienced sorcerer was able to react and would have killed Kenjaku quickly if Sukuna hadn't intervened. During Satoru's duel with Sukuna, he proved to be faster than the King of Curses, able to continuously outpace Sukuna in their hand-to-hand combat exchanges, repeatedly pushing him into the defense with his speed and catching him off-guard at certain occasions. Satoru even kept up with Sukuna, Mahoraga and Chimera Beast Agito simultaneously.

   Immense Endurance: Despite rarely being put in dangerous situations, Satoru has proven himself to be overwhelmingly resilient when needed to be. When Toji Fushiguro stabbed him through the chest when he had just deactivated his Infinity, Satoru showed little pain and with cursed-energy reinforcement, he was able to avoid any further damage. Even after being impaled on the throat and then savagely slashed through his body, not only did Satoru survive, but he was able to instead use the life-and-death experience to understand the nature of Reverse Cursed Technique and become even more powerful than he ever was. Years later, when Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine overpowered his Unlimited Void, Satoru withstood countless slash attacks from Sukuna while using Reverse Cursed Technique at full burst to heal himself instantaneously without showing any signs of pain and being affected by the blood loss and injuries and was able to keep fighting Sukuna with great efficiency, eventually buying enough time to recover his cursed technique.

   Great Tactical Intellect: Satoru is quite tactical and capable of figuring out his opponent's plan with minimum information. He has also shown to be extremely adaptable to any enemy he has ever faced so far, knowing precisely what to do to counter their techniques and find ways to defeat them. This is best displayed during his bout against Jogo, Hanami, Choso and Mahito where he was shown to be capable of conceiving multiple battle strategies while fighting at blinding speeds, protecting civilians, keeping property damage to a minimum, all while dodging and evading the attacks of the four curses. While fighting Sukuna, faced with the Malevolent Shrine's relentless attacks without his cursed technique, Satoru proved able to calmly develop an effective plan to not only survive, but also counter-attack, by out-healing its sure-hit attack with Reverse Cursed Technique and using Simple Domain to give him an opening to recover his cursed technique. He also demonstrated the great genius to change the conditions of his domain to a degree that left Atsuya Kusakabe, an expert on barrier techniques, astonished.

   Satoru Gojo is known within the jujutsu society as the strongest jujutsu sorcerer in the world. He earned this alias due to the immense amounts of cursed energy he possesses. His cursed energy is vast enough to use a Domain Expansion at least five times in one day, while most sorcerers can only use it once. Gojo has excellent control over his cursed energy, capable of activating his Domain in a split second, use reverse cursed technique, and even combines positive and negative cursed energy. Gojo is also known to have two overarching abilities, being the first in four hundred years to have both the Six Eyes and the Gojo family's Limitless cursed technique.

   Black Flash: A phenomenon that occurs when the user applies cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit, creating a spatial distortion that causes their cursed energy to flash black and amplifies the destructive power of the strike to the power of 2.5. Satoru managed to use Black Flash against Sukuna during their battle in Shinjuku, dealing a devastating strike when the King of Curses least expected it. It is currently unknown how many times exactly Gojo has performed Black Flash, but he has used it at least four times.

   Limitless: At the base level, Limitless is an innate technique which is derived from the Gojo family. This technique grants its users nigh-absolute control over space through cursed energy manipulation at an atomic level, resulting in multiple subsequent results and techniques within the overall ability. With the manipulation of space as just the base level of the technique, Limitless has three standard and one "non-standard" form beyond this.

   Infinity: Being the neutral form of the Limitless, the Infinity is commonly known as the ability to stop, although this is a common misconception as the true power of the Infinity is to slow things down. When something attempts to hit Satoru, the person or object in question instead hits the infinity between himself and them. According to Satoru, this is the convergence of an infinite series and comes straight from the paradox of Achilles and the tortoise. Akin to the way Achilles will never catch the tortoise due to the potential, infinite amounts of finite space separating them or how the real number one will never touch the real number two due to the infinite amount of fractions that separate them, the opponent will never touch Satoru due to the infinity between them. Satoru can decide what does and doesn't touch him and can do so based upon mass, speed, and danger ratings.

   Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue: The reinforced version of the neutral limitless; Blue is the byproduct of Gojo amplifying the Limitless and negative energy, producing a vacuum. Through these, Gojo creates a scenario where the world itself is forced to correct itself and fill in the negative space, causing all matter in the range of the commanded space to be pulled together.

   Cursed Technique Lapse - Maximum Cursed Energy Output: Blue: Satoru creates a center of gravity in a specific space capable of attracting all matter, crushing it all effortlessly akin to a black hole. He can also move the point of gravity at will, augmenting its destructive capabilities greatly.

   Cursed Technique Reversal: Red: Being an inversion of Blue, Red has the opposite effect. Using his reversal technique to invert the properties of Blue, Satoru activates the divergence of his infinity and causes an extremely powerful repulsive force, repelling all matter in its vicinity. Being an ability that is powered by positive cursed energy and formed as a reverse curse technique, the ability has two times the destructive ability of Blue.

   Hollow Technique: Purple: An advanced technique that collides the Lapse and Reversal of the Limitless, resulting in an imaginary mass that is launched at the target.

   Reverse Cursed Technique: At first, while a first and second year student of Jujutsu High, Satoru was unable to grasp the complex nature of reverse cursed technique, but after being put on his deathbed during his first fight with Toji Fushiguro, Satoru, tapping into the core of cursed energy, was finally able to unlock the ability to not only heal himself, but also make the positive energy flow into the Infinity, giving him access to his Red and Hollow Purple attacks. While he has yet to master the skill of healing others, which is something that few like Sukuna and Shoko can do, by the time he became a third year student, Satoru had mastered reverse cursed technique to the point where he developed the unprecedented ability to keep a reverse cursed technique flowing through his body constantly as to keep his brain fresh despite making constant use of the Six Eyes and the Limitless at a scale that would normally fry his brains, which also served to heal him should any attack pierce his Infinity, the maximum output of his reverse cursed technique capable of allowing him to even survive the effects of Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine by healing himself as quickly as the rapid-firing slashes of Sukuna's Domain. Satoru's mastery over the personal applications of reverse cursed technique is such that he even had the skill to use a reverse cursed technique to replenish his burnt-out cursed technique after.

   Enrollment method: Family lineage. He doesn't have any hobbies (he can do almost anything). Favorite food: Sweet things. Least favorite food: Alcohol. Cause of stress: Higher-ups involvement. He started eating sweets to stimulate his brain but ended up with a sweet tooth. He can do anything he tries, so he tries not to get too involved with anything. According to him, this is all for the sake of the next generation. Principal Yaga was Gojo's teacher when he was a student.

   Jujutsu Sorcerers are individuals secretly trained and employed by the government in Japan to defend humanity from cursed spirits. The race of humans capable of using jujutsu are colloquially known as Sorcerers, and the jujutsu prefix is often used to signify their alignment to Jujutsu High. Jujutsu sorcerers who use their powers for criminal purposes, such as murder, are called Curse Users while humans who cannot use jujutsu are called Non-Sorcerers.

   History: Jujutsu sorcerers have existed for thousands of years. It is currently unknown for exactly how long humans have been able to use jujutsu. Over a thousand years ago, Sukuna was a human sorcerer who, after eventually dying, split himself into cursed objects and reincarnated through Yuji Itadori. The King of Curses claims jujutsu sorcerers have been an issue in every era. As a result of the ongoing conflict between sorcerers and curses that has spanned thousands of years, a society of sorcerers have organized themselves to work in the shadows to suppress curses in an effort to protect humanity. In the modern era, the Big Three Sorcerer Families and the jujutsu higher-ups control the landscape of the jujutsu community.

   Biology: The primary difference in basic human biology between a normal human and a sorcerer is their brain. The connection between the brain and cursed energy is mostly unknown, even to seasoned medical professionals in the jujutsu community. Sorcerers have brains that differ from non-sorcerers which allows for their capacity to use jujutsu. Only Idle Transfiguration can adjust the brain stem in such a way that those who were meant to be non-sorcerers can gain cursed techniques. If the opposite is enacted and a sorcerer's brain is adjusted to remove their cursed technique, they would die as a result.

   Profession: A team of sorcerers working together to investigate curse related deaths. The bare minimum for any person to be considered a sorcerer is the ability to see cursed spirits. To be a jujutsu sorcerer as a profession, one generally possesses high levels of cursed energy and is born with the innate talent to use cursed techniques. This normally composes over eighty percent of a jujutsu sorcerer's skillset. However, there are many exceptions to this, those without an innate technique (i.e. Yuji Itadori & Atsuya Kusakabe) and even those without the ability to control cursed energy at all can become professional jujutsu sorcerers (i.e. Maki Zenin) with the aid of cursed tools. All jujutsu sorcerers are trained in their youth at one of the two jujutsu educational facilities in either Tokyo or Kyoto. There they are taught about jujutsu and how to use their abilities to exorcise cursed spirits. After graduating, alumni sorcerers who remain aligned with the schools generally use one of the two facilities as a home base. They serve as the cornerstone for the jujutsu sorcerer community. They mediate issues, assign missions, and officially establish a payroll for all their employed exorcists. The higher-ups are in charge of the schools and by extension all jujutsu sorcerers. A professional jujutsu sorcerer's primary duties are to execute missions assigned to them. These tasks involve investigating cursed related deaths and disappearances that leads to a culprit whether it be a cursed spirit or curse user. All jujutsu sorcerers are to abide by strict jujutsu regulations and those branded curse users can be treated like curses and marked for exorcism as well. Jujutsu High also secures special grade cursed objects that can't be destroyed as a means of suppressing cursed spirits like Sukuna, who is split into twenty different fingers.

   Stigma: Being a jujutsu sorcerer is a demanding occupation that requires one to constantly face fear-inducing curses and risk their life. Naturally, there are several drawbacks to working as a professional exorcist. During their interview, Masamichi Yaga explains to Yuji that being fearless to the point of being even slightly insane is absolutely essential to being a jujutsu sorcerer. This is later confirmed by Satoru Gojo, who explains to Megumi Fushiguro, that even very talented, skilled and promising people, if they have a weak willpower, they are unable to deal with the trauma caused by grotesque monsters and the brutal scenes caused by cursed spirits and quickly give up working as sorcerers. According to Satoru Gojo, a person who is killed by a curse but dies a normal death, such a person is considered lucky. And even if the corpse is totally mutilated, as long as the body is found, it's still considered acceptable. Some humans who are capable of using jujutsu choose to become curse users simply because it offers a much easier life compared to being a jujutsu sorcerer.

   As a result of their difficult life path, jujutsu sorcerers detach themselves from normal society and genuine compassion. This makes it difficult for some jujutsu sorcerers to feel compassion in any curse related situation. Despite being a victim, the higher-ups were quick to try and execute Yuta Okkotsu, a cursed human just because of the threat his curse presented. Yuji was also immediately sentenced to a secret execution much like Yuta after becoming Sukuna's vessel.

   Other than Aoi Todo and Kasumi Miwa, the students from Kyoto during the Goodwill Event see Yuji as nothing more than another curse and a symbol of fear. They're influenced by Principal Yoshinobu Gakuganji and the jujutsu higher-ups who are set in their traditionalist mindsets.

   Even Satoru Gojo is willing to make certain sacrifices to ensure what he believes is the greater good, but his mindset is much more progressive than the higher-ups and the major sorcerer families, often causing him to bump heads with authority. The other major sorcerer families other than the one man Gojo Family embody traditionalism. In the Zenin Family, the women are treated unfairly compared to the men and cursed techniques are valued above anything else without any presence of a modern loving family dynamic.

   Jujutsu High is always short on sorcerers and the one they do have are always busy. Suguru Geto originally believed that jujutsu sorcerers existed to protect non-sorcerers, but following years of service, he compared it to running a marathon with no end in sight. If a sorcerer were ever to reach the end the race, Suguru believed they would only find a hill made of their friend's corpses.

   Yuki Tsukumo believes that Jujutsu High is simply fighting the "symptom" and not the root cause of the cursed spirits. Suguru twisted this ideology into a strong desire to eradicate the non-sorcerer "monkeys" as a means to destroy the existence of cursed spirits as well. He was able to build alliances with like-minded sorcerers turned curse users who believed in his same vision. They all felt that the strong were being oppressed by the weak because the lives of sorcerers were dictated by non-sorcerers without any true appreciation or reward for their actions.

   Clans of jujutsu sorcerers are considered to be highly regarded figures in the jujutsu community. The Big Three Sorcerer Families hold the most influence due to the powerful inherited cursed techniques that are passed down in their families for generations.

   There is a ranking system in place for all jujutsu users and related items that scales them from Grade 4 to Special Grade. A jujutsu sorcerer's grade will correspond with the level of difficulty assigned to the associated curse on any mission they're assigned. Professional jujutsu sorcerers earn more money as they grow in rank, which can be achieved with a recommendation for a higher ranking sorcerer and approval from one of the higher-ups.

   Most jujutsu sorcerers combat curses directly and exorcise them with jujutsu. A sorcerer armed with a cursed tool or close combat skills reinforced with cursed energy manipulation can achieve the same goal as well. There are as many ways to exorcise cursed spirits are there are jujutsu sorcerers. Shikigami users, cursed tool users, and cursed speech users are just three of many different possible examples for jujutsu sorcerer combatant types.

   Non-combatants can be valued sorcerers as well with their supportive abilities. Jujutsu High managers are capable of casting Curtains and Windows are utilized solely for their ability to see curses and notify others. Shoko Ieiri is also a valued sorcerer because of her talent as a doctor coupled with her ability to heal sorcerers with reverse cursed technique.

   A Grade refers to the power scaling system that ranks jujutsu ranging from grades one to four, and special grade. It is used to categorize the strength of jujutsu sorcerers, cursed spirits, cursed objects and cursed tools.

   Description: Jujutsu High assigns their sorcerer's grades to assess their skill level ascending from Grade 4 to Grade 1. Students generally start at Grade 4 upon joining the school, but this depends on experience. Cursed spirits are ranked on a similar scale but not exact. The higher-ups can be particular when it comes to ranking cursed spirits. The distinct difference between a grade 2 and a semi-grade 1 curse is whether or not it is capable of using cursed techniques. Jujutsu sorcerers are expected to take on missions involving curses of the same level. A Grade 2 sorcerer should be able to defeat a Grade 2 curse because their skill level is closer to the strength of a Grade 1 curse.

   Cursed tools are also categorized from grades 1 to 4 based on power and potency. The higher the grade, the greater advantage they provide in battle. All Special Grade cursed tools except for Playful Cloud are imbued with a cursed technique.

   Cursed objects are also classified according to the grade of the curse they contain. However, when a cursed object is used for incarnation, the incarnated individual would not necessarily have the same grade as the cursed object. For example, despite the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings being special grade cursed objects, Choso, Eso and Kechizu are not ranked as special grade.

   Ranks: Following rankings are used to classify jujutsu sorcerers, cursed spirits, cursed tools and cursed objects in general:

   Grade 4 Grade 3 Semi-Grade 2 Grade 2 Semi-Grade 1 Grade 1 Special Grade 1 Special Grade

   If traditional weapons were used against curses and sorcerers measured their effectiveness as a gauge: Grade 4 - "A wooden bat is enough." Grade 3 - "If you have a handgun, you can rest easy." Grade 2 - "Close call with a shotgun." Grade 1 - "Even a tank might be insufficient." Special Grade - "Cluster bombs might work."

   Promotions: Jujutsu sorcerers can be promoted up in rank by receiving a recommendation from a sorcerer of a higher rank. The higher the rank, the more a sorcerer is paid for the more dangerous jobs that come with it. When it comes to students, their teachers are not permitted to submit a recommendation for their promotion. A sorcerer submits a request for promotion based on their recommendation to one of the jujutsu higher-ups, such as Kyoto school Principal Gakuganji. When it comes to being promoted to Grade 1, upon receiving recommendations from two or more sorcerers of that rank, the nominee will accompany a sorcerer of that level on several missions. The one who accompanies the nominee can't be the same person who put in the recommendation. If they perform well on these missions, the nominee will be granted a Semi-Grade 1 rank and be assigned a mission to exorcise a Grade 1 alone. Based on the outcome of that, the decision to permit or deny Grade 1 status will be decided. A special grade sorcerer is someone capable of wiping out a nation singlehandedly.

   Grade Registry Known Grades Grade 4 Grade 4 is a rank meant for weak and inexperienced sorcerers. Maki Zenin is the only known Grade 4 but this is due to the Zenin Family holding her back from promotion.

   Grade 3 Grade 3 is an average rank for jujutsu sorcerers to have, especially students.

   Semi-Grade 2 Little is known about the purpose of this intermediate rank.

   Grade 2 Grade 2 is an above-average level for a sorcerer. Most great sorcerers are between Grades 1 and 2, so they are not by any means weak. It is exceptional for a student to be Grade 2, a status which allows them to take on solo assignments. A student receiving a Grade 2 rank upon enrolling is considered to be a genius.

   Semi-Grade 1 Semi-Grade 1 is a rank for sorcerers who have completed their accompanied missions following their recommendation for Grade 1 with satisfactory results.

   Grade 1 Grade 1 sorcerers are the ones who uphold the standards of what a sorcerer should strive to be and are the ones fit to lead society. It is the highest status a sorcerer can hope to achieve through the natural progression of ranks, as Special Grade is something of a misrepresentation. The level of danger on missions, the amount of confidentiality entrusted to them, and the compensation are far greater than Semi-Grade 1 and below.

   Special Grade 1 Special Grade 1 is a rank that refers to sorcerers outside of the technical school system (ungraded active sorcerers) whose power is considered to be on the level of a Grade 1 sorcerer. Naobito Zenin, former head of the prestigious Zenin Family, was referred to as a Special Grade 1 Sorcerer. Other elite members of the Zenin Family carry this rank as well.

   Special Grade Special Grade is a rank reserved for anomalies within the jujutsu community. It is reserved for sorcerers with such immense strength that their destructive potential is immeasurable, making them very exclusive and unique cases, hence the title "special". As a testament to its rarity, as of 2018, there are only four registered sorcerers with the Special Grade rank. Sukuna, a powerful curse user from the Heian Era, is recognized as the King of Curses, with his fingers and himself being collectively categorized as Special Grade.

   Grade 2 Compared to the lower grades, cursed spirits that are Semi-Grade 2 or higher possess a lot of cursed energy. They must be exorcised by experienced sorcerers of a higher grade, since some of them have a high level of intelligence.

   Semi-Grade 1 Semi-Grade 1 curses have been a benchmark for danger on several occasions, as they can use cursed techniques and attacks with cursed energy, which in turn makes exorcising them even more dangerous. Generally, cursed spirits that can communicate are automatically considered to be Semi-Grade 1 at the lowest. Curses of this rank or higher can have their techniques extracted and utilized by Cursed Spirit Manipulation.

   Special Grade The most dangerous cursed spirits. Many possess a level of intelligence that is equal to or higher than a human being’s and can use cursed techniques. In the world of jujutsu, those with a classification superior to Grade 1 are considered Special Grade, but the individuals within this category present very varied combat abilities. A sorcerer must be Special Grade or at the very least Grade 1 in order to exorcise a Special Grade cursed spirit. In 2017, there were 16 confirmed registered cursed spirits. Many of them are Imaginary Vengeful Spirits feared by sorcerers. Other Vengeful Spirits such as Rika and Tamomo-no-Mae were registered as special grade as well.

   Unregistered Special Grade In 2018, following Sukuna's reincarnation, several unregistered special grade cursed spirits began appearing. The first was a Finger Bearer born from a Cursed Womb spawned from one of Sukuna's fingers. Satoru Gojo first took notice when he was attacked by Jogo. Following their fight, another unregistered special grade, Hanami, came to help Jogo, showing their intelligence and capability of working together. Along with Mahito and Dagon, these curses formed a faction to work against sorcerers.

   Sorcerer Clans are clans of jujutsu sorcerers that pass down inherited cursed techniques through generations. These attributes make sorcerer clans prominent figures in the jujutsu world. This is especially true for the Big Three Families who hold the most prestige and influence due to their bloodlines' innate talent for jujutsu.

   Big Three Families: The three great sorcerer clans of the jujutsu world are the Zenin Clan, the Gojo Clan, and the Kamo Clan. They are three distinguished clans that have existed for over one thousand years, having already existed by the Heian Era, the Golden Age of Sorcery. Their members possess an exceptional talent for jujutsu and they pass down powerful inherited techniques through generations.

   The Big Three Families possess great influence and political prominence in the jujutsu world. Alongside jujutsu headquarters, they are in contact with the Japanese government and were key in establishing the memorandum regarding the obligations of jujutsu sorcerers. The head of Jujutsu Headquarters is appointed by the Prime Minister based on nominations from the Big Three. The principals of both Jujutsu Highs are appointed by the head of Jujutsu Headquarters also based on nominations from the Big Three.

   The Big Three are very proud to be distinguished, but each clan has a rivalry with another. There is especially bad blood between the Gojo clan and the Zenin clan, whose former heads are said to have killed each other in the past. Each of the Big Three keeps tabs on each other, including information on their inherited techniques. The prior head of the Zenin clan, Naobito Zenin, has stated he wouldn't mind the Gojo clan going out of power despite Satoru Gojo being the deterrent from Japan falling into chaos.

   Other Sorcerer Families: There are various other sorcerer families as well. One such clan is the Inumaki Clan, who are cursed speech users who inherited the technique. While not on the same level as the Big Three, the Inumaki clan is respected and their signature technique has existed for generations. A prominent sorcery family of the past was the Fujiwara Clan, whose members were among the strongest sorcerers of the Heian period.
