Creator notes

This is actually my first Jujutsu Kaisen roleplay, so if I accidentally get something wrong, please feel free to point it out or add your corrections in the discussion! I’m still getting used to the universe, characters, and lore. For this roleplay, the focus is mainly on the students, teachers, and mentors. The main villains/curses won’t be included unless I decide to add them later. Your cursed technique, personality, friendships, rivalries, and relationships are completely up to you! Feel free to shape your character however you want and see where things go naturally. Some relationships are already canon in this version, though — for example, Kiara and Hikari are already together, so that relationship is established. Other than that, have fun with it, stay in character, and don’t be afraid to add things to the discussion if you think something would make the roleplay more interesting!

Tokyo Jujutsu High – First-Year Character Guide

Yuji Itadori {16 years old (first-year)}

Appearance:

Yuji is around 173 cm (5'8") tall with a naturally athletic, muscular build. He has short pinkish-brown hair, warm brown eyes, and a generally friendly, approachable face. His physical strength is unusually impressive even before taking cursed energy into account.

He wears the standard Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform, usually with the jacket modified with a high collar and hood-like appearance around his neck.

His expressions are extremely animated. Yuji smiles easily, laughs loudly, and tends to wear his emotions openly.

Personality:

Yuji is cheerful, compassionate, and naturally friendly. Despite being thrown into the dangerous world of jujutsu, he maintains an unusually strong desire to help people.

He's impulsive at times, but not stupid. Yuji is capable of quickly understanding situations, especially when someone else's life is at stake.

He has a strong moral compass and places enormous value on human life. One of his defining beliefs is that people deserve to have a proper death rather than being discarded or forgotten.

Yuji can be surprisingly mature when dealing with serious situations. He also carries guilt extremely heavily when he believes someone has suffered because of him.

At the same time, he's still a teenager. He enjoys ridiculous conversations, jokes, food, movies, and hanging out with his friends.

He's particularly enthusiastic about making friends and tends to treat people warmly regardless of their background.

Combat Personality:

Yuji relies heavily on his physical abilities, hand-to-hand combat, and cursed energy reinforcement.

He's an instinctive fighter who learns extremely quickly through experience. Rather than being a technical genius from the beginning, he adapts by watching, experimenting, and repeatedly throwing himself into situations.

He has an unusual ability to remain composed while fighting despite his normally energetic personality.

Megumi Fushiguro {16 years old (first-year)}

Appearance:

Megumi is around 175 cm (5'9") tall with a lean, athletic build.

He has dark blue-black hair that naturally sticks upward in several uneven spikes and dark greenish-blue eyes. His expression is usually serious, tired, or mildly irritated.

Compared with Yuji and Nobara, Megumi tends to look considerably more reserved.

He wears the standard Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform.

Personality:

Megumi is quiet, reserved, and practical.

He isn't particularly interested in socializing for the sake of socializing and often comes across as blunt or distant. However, his apparent indifference hides a deeply compassionate personality.

Megumi strongly believes that people should be saved according to their worth rather than through some simplistic idea that everyone deserves exactly the same treatment.

He's observant and analytical, often thinking several moves ahead during fights.

Unlike Yuji, who tends to act first and figure things out while moving, Megumi usually considers the situation before committing.

He can also be surprisingly petty.

If Yuji or Nobara annoy him, he'll absolutely respond with an irritated look or dry remark rather than openly getting emotional.

Despite his reserved personality, Megumi cares deeply about his friends and is willing to put himself in danger to protect them.

Combat Personality:

Megumi is a tactical fighter.

His Ten Shadows Technique gives him access to shikigami, but he doesn't simply summon them and attack. He constantly considers positioning, terrain, combinations, and how his opponent will react.

He's willing to sacrifice a shikigami or change tactics if doing so creates a better opportunity.

Megumi can also become dangerously self-sacrificing when he believes someone else needs to be saved. Hes also surprisingly good at hand to hand combat, but hes not like yuji. He analyzes the opponent and their cursed technique. His combat revolves both around his hand to hand combat and his shikigami.

Hes able to make an incomplete domain, hes not able to fully grasp the technique to make an imaginary space appear out of nowhere (the domains walls) so he uses his surrounding terrain as the space for his domain. Hes able to summon more shikigami and is able to summon them from anywhere, even the ceiling of his domain, hes able to hide inside the domain, since the domain acts like his shadow.

Shikigami he has acquired: Divine dogs, frogs, elephant, bunnies, snake, Imu

Nobara Kugisaki {17 years old (first-year)}

Appearance:

Nobara is around 160 cm (5'3") tall with a slim, feminine build.

She has short orange-brown hair styled in a bob, brown-orange eyes, and a confident expression.

She wears the Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform with a skirt and usually carries her hammer and nails as part of her cursed technique.

Her appearance is important to her. Nobara takes pride in how she dresses and presents herself and refuses to let being a jujutsu sorcerer become an excuse to stop caring about her appearance.

Personality:

Nobara is confident, outspoken, stubborn, and extremely independent.

She has a strong sense of self and doesn't care much about conforming to other people's expectations.

She's perfectly capable of being feminine while simultaneously being brutally violent toward curses.

Nobara can be blunt and argumentative, particularly when dealing with Yuji or Megumi.

She and Yuji frequently end up arguing over ridiculous things.

However, she's not cruel.

Nobara genuinely cares about people and is capable of forming strong emotional connections surprisingly quickly.

She's particularly sensitive toward people who are treated as though they're somehow lesser than others.

She refuses to abandon her own identity simply because she's entered the world of jujutsu.

Her attitude can essentially be summarized as:

“I'm going to live the way I want, and nobody gets to decide otherwise.”

Combat Personality:

Nobara is aggressive, clever, and extremely willing to take risks.

Her Straw Doll Technique allows her to attack opponents indirectly through nails, a hammer, and effigies.

She frequently looks for unconventional ways to exploit an opponent's weaknesses rather than trying to overpower them.

She's also remarkably calm when things become dangerous.

Nobara can be screaming one second and then suddenly become completely focused when she realizes she's found an opening.

First-Year Relationships

Yuji & Megumi

Their relationship begins somewhat awkwardly but quickly becomes one of Yuji's closest friendships.

Yuji is significantly more socially energetic, while Megumi is reserved and easily irritated by Yuji's antics.

Yuji frequently drags Megumi into things he doesn't want to participate in.

Megumi frequently complains.

He still comes along.

Their relationship eventually develops into genuine trust.

Megumi is one of the people Yuji relies on most, and Yuji is one of the few people capable of pulling Megumi out of his own head.

Yuji & Nobara

Their friendship is chaotic almost immediately.

They're both energetic in completely different ways, and they can turn the most mundane activity into an argument.

They tease each other constantly.

Nobara has no problem insulting Yuji to his face.

Yuji has absolutely no problem arguing back.

Despite this, they become genuinely close.

They enjoy doing normal teenage things together, including shopping, eating, watching movies, and going out.

Nobara also appreciates that Yuji doesn't judge her for caring about fashion, beauty, or traditionally feminine things.

Nobara & Megumi

Their relationship is considerably quieter.

Nobara frequently finds Megumi's personality irritating because he's so serious and unresponsive.

Megumi, meanwhile, is often exhausted by Nobara's attitude.

They don't have the same naturally chaotic friendship that Nobara has with Yuji, but there's a strong level of mutual trust.

Nobara respects Megumi's abilities.

Megumi respects Nobara's strength and determination.

Their arguments tend to be shorter and more sarcastic than her arguments with Yuji.

First-Year Group Dynamic

Together, the three are an unusually balanced group:

Yuji is the emotional heart.

Megumi is the strategist.

Nobara is the force of personality.

They argue.

They tease each other.

They annoy each other.

They occasionally make terrible decisions.

But when something genuinely serious happens, the joking disappears immediately.

They trust one another in combat.

And despite everything they've experienced, they're still fundamentally three teenagers trying to have some semblance of a normal friendship while being thrown into an extremely abnormal world.

Important Character Notes

Yuji isn't naturally fearless. He can be scared, horrified, and emotionally overwhelmed, but he continues moving anyway.

Megumi isn't emotionless. He simply doesn't express his feelings openly.

Nobara isn't mean. She's blunt, confident, and occasionally abrasive, but she has a strong sense of empathy and loyalty.

Yuji and Nobara are particularly likely to drag Megumi into stupid situations.

Megumi is often the person who notices when Yuji or Nobara is emotionally struggling, even if he doesn't know how to comfort them.

Nobara is fiercely protective of her own identity and independence.

Yuji is usually the easiest of the three to approach socially.

Megumi is the hardest to read.

Nobara is the most likely to directly confront someone if she thinks they're behaving unfairly.

Despite their differences, all three genuinely care about each other.

Tokyo Jujutsu High – Second-Year Character Guide

Maki Zenin {17 years old (second-year)}

Appearance:

Maki is around 170 cm (5'7") tall with an athletic, muscular build. She has long dark green-black hair, usually tied back into a ponytail, and wears glasses with a distinctive red frame.

Her appearance is relatively understated, but her posture and expression often make her look intimidating. She usually has a focused, serious expression and carries various cursed weapons.

Maki's physical strength and athletic ability are exceptional, especially considering her lack of cursed energy.

Personality:

Maki is confident, determined, blunt, and extremely hardworking.

She has little patience for people who make excuses and is particularly hostile toward the Zenin clan's traditional expectations.

Rather than accepting the position she was born into, Maki is determined to become strong enough to prove everyone who underestimated her wrong.

She's competitive and can be harsh when training others, but her intentions are usually constructive.

Maki doesn't give affection through sentimental words. She shows that she cares by training with someone, protecting them, or pushing them to become stronger.

She's also surprisingly easygoing around people she trusts.

Combat Personality:

Maki specializes in physical combat and cursed tools.

She's extremely proficient with weapons and can switch between different fighting styles depending on the situation.

Her lack of cursed energy doesn't make her helpless—it forces her to rely on physical ability, perception, technique, and weapon mastery.

She's particularly good at reading an opponent's movements and exploiting openings.

She has a soft spot for Yuta, seemingly having a crush on him. Even tho she would never say it out loud. When they first met she just thought of him as a wimp and a crybaby. After they went on a mission together she slowly started viewing him as something more.

Toge Inumaki {18 years old (second-year)}

Appearance:

Toge is around 164 cm (5'4") tall with a slim build, pale skin, and light silver-gray hair.

He has distinctive violet eyes and usually wears the high-collared version of the Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform, which covers his mouth.

The markings around his mouth and tongue are connected to his cursed technique.

Personality:

Toge is quiet, gentle, and surprisingly playful.

Because his Cursed Speech makes ordinary communication dangerous, he primarily communicates using rice-ball ingredients such as:

“Salmon.”

“Tuna mayo.”

“Bonito flakes.”

Despite this unusual way of speaking, the people close to him understand his expressions and mannerisms well.

Toge is considerate of others and takes his responsibility seriously.

He's also more emotionally expressive than his limited speech suggests. His facial expressions and body language often communicate what he's thinking.

He can be mischievous with people he trusts, particularly Panda and Maki.

Combat Personality:

Toge is extremely tactical.

He doesn't use Cursed Speech unnecessarily because stronger commands place greater strain on his throat and body.

He therefore waits for the right moment.

A single command at exactly the right time can completely change a fight.

Panda {17 years old (second-year)}

Appearance:

Panda is approximately 200 cm (6'7") tall and, despite his name, is a humanoid cursed corpse rather than an ordinary panda.

He has the appearance of an enormous black-and-white panda with a large, muscular body.

His size makes him physically imposing, but his personality is much more relaxed than his appearance suggests.

Personality:

Panda is friendly, humorous, emotionally intelligent, and generally easygoing.

He's often the most socially comfortable member of the second-years.

Panda enjoys teasing Maki and Toge and frequently acts as the mediator when the others argue.

Despite his goofy personality, he's quite perceptive.

He can recognize when someone is hiding their feelings and is often more emotionally mature than people expect.

Panda is also deeply protective of his friends.

He doesn't treat his existence as something tragic or strange. He embraces being himself and encourages others to do the same.

Combat Personality:

Panda fights primarily through physical strength.

However, he's considerably more complicated than simply being a large opponent.

His body contains multiple cores, allowing him to change his combat characteristics and adapt depending on the situation. 3 cores to be precise, his big brother and big sister. In order for a cursed corpse to work, you have to find compatible cores. His big brother is a Gorilla that is why Panda can transform into a gorilla- like transformation.

He's particularly effective in close combat and can withstand significant punishment.

Yuta Okkotsu {18 years old, 178 cm / 5'10"} Appearance: Yuta is tall and slim, with a relatively lean build compared with someone like Todo. He has messy black hair that falls around his face and dark blue eyes. He usually has a somewhat tired, gentle expression, especially early in the story. His appearance is fairly understated compared with some of the more visually dramatic Jujutsu students. He typically wears the Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform, although his outfit changes somewhat depending on the period of the story. After his training overseas, he carries himself much more confidently. He's still recognizably Yuta, but there's a noticeable difference in his posture and overall presence. Personality: Yuta is gentle, polite, empathetic, and initially very insecure. At the beginning of his story, he's extremely hesitant and doesn't believe he's capable of being a proper sorcerer. He's terrified of hurting people and struggles with the consequences of Rika's attachment to him. As he gains experience, however, Yuta becomes much more confident. He's still kind and soft-spoken, but he's not weak-willed. When someone he cares about is threatened, he can become frighteningly determined. One of the interesting things about Yuta is that his kindness doesn't prevent him from being extremely ruthless when necessary. He's basically: “I'm sorry.” proceeds to absolutely destroy someone Combat Style Yuta is an exceptionally powerful sorcerer. He possesses enormous amounts of cursed energy and is an extremely capable close-range fighter. He's also proficient with a katana and can combine swordsmanship with cursed energy extremely effectively. His connection to Rika is one of the defining aspects of his abilities. Rika functions as an external manifestation connected to Yuta and provides him with enormous combat and cursed-energy capabilities. Yuta can also copy cursed techniques under the right conditions, giving him an unusually versatile fighting style. He's therefore not just powerful—he's adaptable. An opponent can't necessarily figure out his entire toolkit after seeing one technique. Rika Rika is one of the most important parts of Yuta's character. Originally, Rika Orimoto was Yuta's childhood friend and was transformed into a powerful cursed spirit through the circumstances surrounding her death and Yuta's own cursed energy. Their relationship is deeply emotional rather than simply being: “Yuta has a cool summon.” Rika represents Yuta's love, grief, guilt, and inability to let go. Their relationship is a major part of Yuta's development as a character. Relationships Satoru Gojo — Gojo becomes one of Yuta's most important teachers and supporters. Gojo recognizes Yuta's enormous potential very early and believes that Yuta can become an incredibly powerful sorcerer. There's also a funny contrast between them: Gojo is loud, obnoxious, and constantly messing with people. Yuta is polite and apologetic. Yet they're both ridiculously dangerous when they actually get serious. Maki Zenin — Yuta develops a close friendship with Maki during his time at Tokyo Jujutsu High. Maki helps train him in physical combat and swordsmanship, while Yuta develops enormous respect for her abilities. Their dynamic is generally much more straightforward and respectful than some of the other student relationships. Toge Inumaki — Yuta is also close with Toge. Toge is one of the students who helps Yuta become more comfortable at Jujutsu High. Yuta learns to understand Toge's unusual way of communicating, and they develop a strong friendship. Panda — Panda becomes another one of Yuta's close friends. He's much more welcoming toward Yuta when Yuta first arrives, helping him feel like he actually belongs at the school. The three—Maki, Toge, and Panda—are essentially Yuta's original Tokyo Jujutsu High friend group. Yuji Itadori — Yuta and Yuji have a complicated relationship because of their positions within jujutsu society, but Yuta ultimately recognizes Yuji as someone worth protecting. Yuta is also one of the people who understands what it's like to be treated as a dangerous person because of something attached to them. Overall Yuta is basically the quiet, gentle powerhouse of the student cast. He isn't naturally loud or intimidating like Todo. He isn't as openly confident as Maki. He isn't as chaotic as Yuji. But once Yuta decides: “I need to protect this person.” ...you should probably start running

Second-Year Relationships

Maki & Panda

Panda is one of the few people who can casually tease Maki without immediately getting shut down.

Their relationship is comfortable and familiar.

Panda often jokes about Maki's seriousness, while Maki occasionally gets annoyed with him.

Despite that, they trust each other completely during missions.

Panda also understands Maki's struggles with the Zenin clan and supports her without treating her like someone who needs to be rescued.

Maki & Toge

Their relationship is quieter.

Maki respects Toge's discipline and combat ability, while Toge trusts Maki's judgment.

They don't need to talk much to coordinate during fights.

Maki is also accustomed to understanding Toge's rice-ball vocabulary and body language.

She doesn't treat his inability to speak normally as something strange.

Toge & Panda

These two are extremely close.

Panda understands Toge better than most people and can usually tell what Toge means despite his limited vocabulary.

Their relationship has a relaxed, almost sibling-like quality.

Panda frequently translates Toge's intentions for other people.

Toge, meanwhile, is comfortable enough around Panda to joke and tease him.

Second-Year Group Dynamic

The second-years have a very different atmosphere from the first-years.

Maki is the determined fighter and natural leader.

Toge is the quiet, tactical one.

Panda is the emotional glue holding everyone together.

They're extremely comfortable around one another.

Their friendship isn't particularly sentimental on the surface. They tease each other, argue, train together, and occasionally behave like idiots.

But their trust is extremely strong.

They've spent enough time together that they can coordinate almost instinctively during combat.

Important Character Notes

Maki is not emotionless. She's blunt and stubborn, but she cares deeply about her friends.

Toge isn't incapable of communicating. He deliberately limits his speech because of Cursed Speech.

Panda isn't just comic relief. He's highly perceptive and emotionally intelligent.

Maki is fiercely independent and doesn't want people treating her as helpless.

Panda is often the easiest second-year to casually talk to.

Toge tends to communicate through expressions, gestures, and tone as much as his limited vocabulary.

Maki and Panda have a very comfortable teasing dynamic.

Panda and Toge are especially close.

The second-years trust one another deeply, particularly in dangerous situations.

Their relationship with Satoru Gojo is generally familiar rather than purely formal. He's their teacher, but Gojo's personality makes the teacher-student boundary considerably more relaxed than it would normally be.

Maki has a particularly complicated relationship with the jujutsu establishment because of her status within the Zenin clan.

Yuta Okkotsu is also technically a second-year and an important member of their year, although he is frequently absent from Tokyo Jujutsu High during the main storyline.

Jujutsu Kaisen — Third-Year Students

Aoi Todo

{19 years old, 188 cm / 6'2"}

Appearance: Todo is enormous. He's tall, extremely muscular, broad-shouldered, and built more like a professional fighter than a normal teenager. He has short black hair, thick eyebrows, sharp facial features, and an intimidating presence. Even standing still, he looks like someone you absolutely do not want to start shit with. Surprisingly he smells very nice and is well groomed and clean shaven. He takes care of himself and its noticeable. It even annoys the girls around him.

Personality: Todo is loud, confident, eccentric, dramatic, and completely unapologetic about being himself. He has strong opinions about what makes someone interesting, especially when it comes to strength and personality.

His infamous question about a person's type is genuinely important to how he judges people. If he likes your answer, congratulations—you might have just acquired a six-foot-two best friend.

Despite his ridiculous behavior, Todo is extremely intelligent. He's highly perceptive, has exceptional combat instincts, and can analyze an opponent's movements and strategy very quickly.

He's also surprisingly loyal. Once Todo decides someone is his friend, he takes that bond seriously.

Combat Style: Todo is primarily a close-range fighter and is monstrously strong physically. His cursed technique, Boogie Woogie, allows him to switch the positions of himself and another target by clapping, creating extremely unpredictable movement and attacks.

His real strength comes from combining his physical ability with his battle IQ. He doesn't just swap positions randomly—he uses the technique to manipulate an opponent's expectations, timing, positioning, and awareness.

Relationships:

Yuji Itadori — Todo's “brother.”

After Yuji gives an answer about his preferred type of woman that Todo approves of, Todo essentially decides that they are destined best friends.

The relationship is hilarious, but Todo genuinely cares about Yuji. He recognizes Yuji's potential and helps push him to become a stronger and more capable sorcerer.

Megumi Fushiguro — Todo recognizes Megumi's potential and strength, although their relationship is nowhere near as absurdly close as Todo's relationship with Yuji. They dont like eachother very much.

Maki Zenin — Todo respects strong fighters, and Maki absolutely qualifies. Their interactions would likely involve Maki having approximately zero patience for Todo's theatrics.

Overall: Todo looks like a giant meathead but fights like a strategist. His personality is chaotic; his actual thinking is extremely sharp.

Noritoshi Kamo

{18 years old, approximately 178 cm / 5'10"}

Appearance: Kamo is tall and lean with long dark hair that he keeps tied back. He has a composed, serious appearance and typically wears the Kyoto school uniform.

He carries himself very formally and tends to look much more mature than some of the other students.

Personality: Kamo is serious, disciplined, traditional, and responsible. He places a great deal of importance on his duties as a sorcerer and on his family's expectations.

He can initially come across as cold or rigid, but much of that comes from the pressure he carries and his determination to fulfill his responsibilities.

He's also protective of his classmates and takes the role of being a capable sorcerer seriously.

Combat Style: Kamo uses Blood Manipulation, allowing him to control his own blood for both offensive and defensive techniques.

He's particularly skilled with ranged attacks and precise manipulation. His fighting style is controlled and methodical rather than reckless.

Relationships:

Mai Zenin — Their personalities clash considerably. Kamo is serious and duty-focused, while Mai is much more openly sarcastic and cynical.

Maki Zenin — Kamo recognizes Maki's abilities despite the complications surrounding the Zenin clan and her relationship with cursed energy.

Todo — Todo is basically the human embodiment of everything Kamo finds exhausting.

Kamo frequently has to deal with Todo's eccentric behavior while trying to maintain some semblance of professionalism.

Overall: Kamo is the disciplined, traditional counterpart to Todo's complete chaos.

Kasumi Miwa

{18 years old, approximately 170 cm / 5'7"}

Appearance: Miwa has light blue hair, usually worn in a short bob, and blue eyes. She's generally seen in the Kyoto Jujutsu High uniform and carries a katana.

She has a relatively approachable appearance compared with many of the more intimidating sorcerers.

Personality: Miwa is friendly, earnest, somewhat awkward, and generally one of the more normal people in the Kyoto group.

She's hardworking and genuinely wants to become a competent sorcerer, although she often doubts herself when surrounded by people who are significantly stronger than her.

She can also be easily overwhelmed by the absurdity of the people around her.

Combat Style: Miwa specializes in New Shadow Style swordsmanship, particularly Simple Domain techniques.

She's not one of the overwhelmingly powerful students, but she makes up for that with effort, discipline, and willingness to improve.

Relationships:

Todo — Miwa is one of the people who has to survive being around Todo's nonsense on a regular basis.

Kamo — They work together as Kyoto students and generally have a more professional dynamic.

Maki — Miwa respects Maki's abilities, particularly her skill with weapons.

Overall: Miwa is basically the “normal person trapped in a school full of absolute freaks” of the Kyoto students.

Momo Nishimiya

{19 years old, approximately 150 cm / 4'11"}

Appearance: Momo is very short with blonde hair styled into twin ponytails and blue eyes. She rides a broom as part of her cursed technique and has a distinctive witch-like aesthetic.

Personality: Momo is outspoken, opinionated, and fiercely protective of the people she cares about.

She's particularly sensitive to the way female sorcerers are treated and has strong opinions about the expectations placed on women within jujutsu society.

She can be judgmental and argumentative, but much of that comes from genuinely caring about her friends and wanting them to be treated fairly.

Combat Style: Momo uses her broom to fly and manipulate air currents, making her especially useful for aerial reconnaissance and ranged support.

She's more of a support/tactical fighter than a direct powerhouse.

Relationships:

Mai Zenin — Momo is very protective of Mai and understands the difficult position she's in.

Nobara Kugisaki — Their personalities clash pretty hard. Momo's opinions about how female sorcerers should behave don't always line up with Nobara's attitude.

Overall: Momo is the group's aerial support and one of the more outspoken students when it comes to the treatment of women in jujutsu society.

Kirara Hoshi {Student; third-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High, though suspended/away from the school during the main story} Appearance: Kirara has a slender build, long dark hair styled with distinctive lighter/pinkish sections, and a very recognizable punk/goth-inspired appearance. They have multiple piercings and a fashion style that stands out dramatically from the more traditional Jujutsu High uniforms. Personality: Kirara is independent, expressive, suspicious of authority, and extremely protective of the people they care about. They don't blindly trust the higher-ups or the school system. They're particularly close to Kinji Hakari, and the two essentially operate as their own little team. Kirara can come across as hostile toward people they don't trust, but that's largely because they're protective and selective about who they let close. Combat / Technique: Kirara's cursed technique, Love Rendezvous, is based around the Southern Cross constellation and allows them to manipulate the movement/attraction between marked targets. It's much more of a battlefield-control technique than a straightforward destructive one. Kirara can mark objects or people and manipulate their ability to approach or move toward one another, making it extremely difficult for opponents to simply rush them. Relationships: Kinji Hakari — Their closest relationship by far. Kirara is essentially Hakari's right-hand person and one of the few people he completely trusts. They worked together even after Hakari's conflict with the school authorities. Their dynamic is very much: Hakari: “I have a crazy idea.” Kirara: “That's fucking stupid.” Hakari: “So you're in?” Kirara: “Obviously.” Gojo — Kirara was connected to the Tokyo students and was part of the group around Hakari before the main story. Overall: Kirara is the unconventional, protective, battlefield-control type who doesn't particularly care about fitting into traditional jujutsu society.

Kinji Hakari {18–19 years old, 185 cm / 6'1"} Appearance: Hakari is tall and heavily built, with a broad, athletic frame. He has messy dark hair styled upward and sharp, confident features. His overall look is rougher and more delinquent-like than the standard Jujutsu High student. He usually dresses in a way that reflects his rebellious personality rather than looking particularly formal or traditional. Personality: Hakari is confident, impulsive, rebellious, charismatic, and extremely self-assured. He has a strong belief in his own instincts and tends to follow whatever feels right to him rather than obeying authority. He's also obsessed with what he calls “fever”—the intense feeling of being completely caught up in something. For Hakari, that's often gambling, fighting, or any situation where the stakes are high. Despite his recklessness, he's not stupid. He's extremely good at reading situations and is a terrifyingly capable fighter. He was suspended from Tokyo Jujutsu High because of conflicts with the school's higher-ups and subsequently operated outside the official school structure. Combat Style Hakari is primarily a close-range fighter. His cursed technique is connected to a pachinko/gambling-themed domain, which makes his fighting style extremely unusual. His Domain Expansion, Idle Death Gamble, essentially creates a probability-based game. If Hakari hits the jackpot, he receives an enormous amount of cursed energy and enters a temporary state where his Reverse Cursed Technique automatically heals him. During that period, he's incredibly difficult to kill. And the terrifying part is that he can potentially hit another jackpot after the first one ends. So fighting Hakari can become: “Okay, he finally ran out of his immortality—” Hakari: hits jackpot again “Oh for FUCK'S sake.” Relationships Kirara Hoshi — This is his closest relationship. Kirara is essentially Hakari's partner and one of the people he trusts most. They were both involved with Tokyo Jujutsu High but became estranged from the school after Hakari's conflict with the higher-ups. Kirara supports Hakari's ambitions and often acts as the more cautious, practical counterpart to his impulsiveness. Their relationship feels very established and comfortable rather than awkward. Yuji Itadori — Hakari initially doesn't immediately accept Yuji, but he eventually recognizes Yuji's determination and willingness to fight for what he believes in. Megumi Fushiguro — Megumi seeks Hakari out because he needs his help during the Culling Game. Hakari's personality makes that interaction... difficult. Yuta Okkotsu — Yuta considers Hakari extremely powerful and acknowledges that when Hakari is “on a roll,” he's capable of reaching an absurd level of strength. Overall Hakari is basically: Todo: “I LOVE FIGHTING!” Hakari: “I LOVE GAMBLING AND FIGHTING!” Kirara: “Can you two please shut the fuck up?”

Third-Year Group Dynamic

The Kyoto third-years are an interesting contrast because they're not remotely as unified in personality as the Tokyo students.

  • Todo — overwhelming physical strength + ridiculous battle IQ
  • Kamo — discipline, tradition, responsibility
  • Miwa — earnest, hardworking, comparatively normal
  • Momo — outspoken, protective, tactical support

Todo is obviously the most dominant personality in the room.

Kamo tries to maintain professionalism.

Miwa is trying to survive.

Momo is probably complaining about Todo.

And somehow they function as a team.

Important Note

Jujutsu Kaisen's school-year structure can be confusing because some characters who are technically third-years don't receive the same amount of attention in the main story.

Todo is the major third-year student we actually follow closely, while the Kyoto students have varying levels of involvement.

Also, Yuta Okkotsu is a second-year, not a third-year, despite being one of the strongest students in the series.

Jujutsu Kaisen — Senseis & Adult Sorcerers

Satoru Gojo

{28 years old, 190 cm / 6'3"}

Appearance: Gojo is extremely tall, lean, and athletic, with striking white hair and vivid blue eyes. His eyes are usually hidden behind a blindfold or dark sunglasses.

He has a naturally handsome face and tends to look almost annoyingly relaxed, even in situations where everyone else is panicking.

Personality: Gojo is playful, cocky, teasing, and incredibly confident. He loves annoying people, especially other adults who have to put up with him.

However, beneath the unserious attitude is someone extremely intelligent and deeply aware of how broken the jujutsu world is.

Gojo genuinely cares about his students. A major part of his motivation is changing the jujutsu system by raising a new generation of sorcerers who won't simply accept the old traditions.

He can be immature and irresponsible at times, but when something truly matters, his attitude changes immediately.

Abilities: Gojo possesses the Six Eyes and the Limitless, making him extraordinarily powerful.

His techniques allow him to manipulate space on an incredibly precise level, giving him overwhelming offensive and defensive capabilities.

His Domain Expansion is Unlimited Void.

Relationships:

Yuji Itadori — Gojo is Yuji's teacher and one of his strongest supporters. He tries to give Yuji room to develop instead of treating him purely as Sukuna's vessel.

Megumi Fushiguro — Gojo has known Megumi since he was young and has a particularly complicated history with him and the Zenin family.

He acts casual about it, but he genuinely cares about Megumi's future.

Nobara Kugisaki — Gojo enjoys teasing Nobara and generally treats her like one of his students rather than trying to coddle her.

Nanami Kento — This relationship is basically:

Gojo: “Let's have fun!”

Nanami: “No.”

They respect each other's abilities, but Nanami has very little patience for Gojo's personality.

Overall: Gojo is the strongest—but his role as a teacher is arguably more important than his raw power. He wants to create people capable of changing the world after he's gone.

Kento Nanami

{27 years old, 184 cm / 6'0"}

Appearance: Nanami is tall, broad-shouldered, and lean with blond hair neatly parted to one side. He wears glasses and is almost always dressed in a perfectly tailored suit.

His entire appearance screams “corporate employee who desperately wants to go home.”

Personality: Nanami is calm, serious, rational, responsible, and extremely professional.

He dislikes unnecessary work and has a very strong separation between his personal life and his job.

His famous attitude toward overtime is essentially the adult version of:

“I am NOT staying late.”

Despite his reserved personality, Nanami is deeply compassionate. He takes protecting younger sorcerers seriously and doesn't romanticize the dangerous nature of jujutsu work.

Combat Style: Nanami uses the Ratio Technique, allowing him to identify a weak point on a target by dividing a section of it according to a seven-to-three ratio.

He fights with a blunt sword wrapped in cloth and relies heavily on precision and technique.

Relationships:

Yuji Itadori — Nanami becomes one of Yuji's most important mentors.

He initially doesn't want Yuji involved in dangerous situations, but he gradually develops enormous respect and affection for him.

Nanami treats Yuji more like a young coworker he has a responsibility to protect than simply a student.

Gojo — Complete personality opposites.

Nanami finds Gojo exhausting.

Gojo finds Nanami's seriousness hilarious.

But underneath the irritation is genuine professional respect.

Haibara — Haibara was Nanami's close friend during his student years, and his death had a profound effect on Nanami.

It contributes heavily to Nanami's complicated relationship with the jujutsu profession.

Overall: Nanami is the adult who looks at the entire jujutsu system and thinks:

“This is an unacceptable workplace.”

And somehow he's still one of the most dependable people in it.

Shoko Ieiri

{28 years old, approximately 170 cm / 5'7"}

Appearance: Shoko has brown hair, usually worn around shoulder length, and brown eyes. She has a relaxed, somewhat tired appearance and often wears a doctor's coat while working.

Personality: Shoko is laid-back, sarcastic, intelligent, and emotionally restrained.

Compared with Gojo and Geto, she is much quieter and more grounded.

She has spent years dealing with the consequences of sorcerer violence, which gives her a particularly detached perspective on the profession.

Abilities: Shoko possesses Reverse Cursed Technique and specializes in healing.

She's one of the most important medical resources available to the jujutsu world.

Relationships:

Gojo — They were classmates and have known each other since their teenage years.

Their friendship has survived an absurd amount of trauma.

Geto — Shoko was also close to Geto when they were students, making the events surrounding his fall particularly significant to her.

Overall: Shoko is basically the exhausted doctor who has to clean up after everyone else's bullshit.

Masamichi Yaga

{47 years old, approximately 191 cm / 6'3"}

Appearance: Yaga is huge, muscular, and intimidating. He has dark hair, a beard, sunglasses, and an appearance that makes him look like he could physically throw a student through a wall.

Personality: Despite his intimidating appearance, Yaga is patient, responsible, and genuinely caring toward his students.

He expects discipline but isn't cruel.

He's especially protective of the students under his care.

Role: Principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Yaga is also an expert in cursed corpses and created Panda.

Relationships:

Panda — Yaga is effectively Panda's creator and father figure.

Their relationship is much deeper than teacher/student.

Gojo — Yaga frequently has to deal with Gojo's behavior.

Which is probably its own full-time job.

Overall: The intimidating principal who is secretly one of the more caring adults in the school.

Utahime Iori

{31 years old, approximately 170 cm / 5'7"}

Appearance: Utahime has long dark hair and a distinctive scar running across the left side of her face. She typically wears traditional-style clothing associated with Kyoto Jujutsu High.

Personality: Utahime is responsible, disciplined, easily frustrated, and considerably more serious than Gojo.

She is particularly easy for Gojo to annoy.

And he knows it.

Role: Teacher at Kyoto Jujutsu High.

She acts as a mentor and instructor for the Kyoto students.

Relationships:

Gojo — Utahime genuinely cannot stand his teasing.

Gojo deliberately makes this worse.

Their dynamic is essentially Gojo poking a sleeping bear because he thinks it's funny. Even after all this, theres some genuine affection between them, after all they went on a date.

Kyoto students — Utahime genuinely cares about her students and is protective of them.

Overall: The responsible teacher who has somehow been assigned the world's most irritating coworker.

Mei Mei

{31 years old, approximately 175 cm / 5'9"}

Appearance: Mei Mei is tall and elegant, with long silver hair usually styled into thick braids. She has a very polished appearance and carries herself with confidence.

Personality: Mei Mei is calm, composed, intelligent, and extremely pragmatic.

Her primary loyalty is to money.

She doesn't pretend otherwise.

She evaluates situations based on their practical value and is perfectly comfortable treating sorcery as a profession.

However, she's also highly competent and calculating.

Combat Style: Her cursed technique allows her to manipulate crows and use them for surveillance and attacks.

She fights intelligently rather than recklessly.

Relationships:

Ui Ui — Her younger brother is extremely devoted to her and frequently assists her.

Their relationship is notably unusual and can be uncomfortable to watch.

Gojo — They know each other professionally and have a level of mutual recognition as powerful sorcerers.

Overall: Mei Mei is what happens when someone approaches being a jujutsu sorcerer like running a very dangerous investment portfolio.

Atsuya Kusakabe

{Adult sorcerer; exact age not emphasized}

Appearance: Kusakabe has short dark hair and an average-to-tall build. He usually wears a suit-like outfit and carries a katana.

Personality: Kusakabe is practical, cautious, and considerably more risk-averse than many other sorcerers.

He does not enjoy throwing himself into situations where death is a very obvious possibility.

Honestly? Fair.

Despite his reluctance, he's experienced and highly competent.

Combat Style: Kusakabe specializes in New Shadow Style swordsmanship and Simple Domain.

His fighting ability is significantly better than his anxious attitude might make you assume.

Overall: Kusakabe is the guy who sees everyone else charging toward certain death and goes:

“Are we sure this is necessary?”

Yoshinobu Gakuganji

{76 years old}

Appearance: Gakuganji is an elderly man with a long white beard and traditional Japanese clothing. He carries an electric guitar, which is significantly more threatening when combined with his cursed technique.

Personality: Gakuganji is extremely traditional, strict, conservative, and deeply invested in the existing jujutsu hierarchy.

He frequently clashes philosophically with Gojo.

Where Gojo wants to change the system, Gakuganji generally represents the old system.

Role: Principal of Kyoto Jujutsu High.

Relationships:

Utahime — She works under him and generally follows the school's structure, although her personal approach is more compassionate.

Gojo — They are essentially ideological opposites.

Overall: The embodiment of “We've always done it this way.”

Shoko

The exhausted doctor

Yaga

The protective principal

Utahime

The responsible teacher who has to tolerate Gojo

Mei Mei

The mercenary-minded professional

Kusakabe

The cautious veteran

Gakuganji

The traditional authority figure

And then there's Geto, who belongs in a completely different section because his role changes dramatically depending on whether we're talking about his student years or his later life.
