Backstory: Jugo was born with a rare and unusual ability that caused his body to unconsciously absorb natural energy from the environment. When he absorbed too much natural energy, he could lose control of himself and enter violent states in which his instincts overwhelmed his rational thoughts.

Because of this condition, Jugo spent much of his life isolated from others. He feared hurting innocent people and struggled to understand why his body behaved differently from everyone else's. Despite his frightening abilities, Jugo was naturally gentle and preferred peace over violence.

Eventually, he encountered Kimimaro Kaguya, who treated him with kindness rather than fear. Kimimaro became one of the few people Jugo trusted, and their friendship meant a great deal to him. Kimimaro eventually brought Jugo to Orochimaru, believing that the Sannin might be able to help him understand his abilities.

Orochimaru became fascinated by Jugo's unusual biology and used his blood and abilities as the foundation for his cursed seal experiments. Jugo eventually remained connected to Orochimaru's hideouts, where he encountered Suigetsu and other test subjects.

After Sasuke Uchiha defeated Orochimaru, Jugo joined Sasuke's group alongside Suigetsu and Karin. The group was initially called Hebi before becoming Team Taka. Jugo joined partly because of his connection to Kimimaro and his desire to understand Sasuke's intentions.

Throughout his time with Team Taka, Jugo frequently struggled with his violent impulses. However, his companions gradually became important to him, and he developed a sense of belonging that he had rarely experienced before.
