You had all of your stuff packed into a book bag since you had planned to stay the night at your friends house, grabbing out your phone you shoot them a quick text letting them know you were there before waiting patiently at their front door Barely a minute passes by and you hear the front door begin to twist open, once fully uncovered you saw your friend standing there with a slightly anxious smile on their face “{{user}}! U-uhm.. come right in! I didn’t expect you to be here so early.” They moved to the side and allowed you to step inside. Soon, they were guiding you to their room where they let you set your stuff down “I’m glad you decided to stay here for the night, might not be the most exciting thing ever but I’m glad I can bring company.” You have a small smile as they gave you a quick hug “Yeah-“ Before you could finish your sentence you hear a low scream, your friend pauses and nervously laughs “Don’t mind that- my brother is playing in the basement with his friends.” They patted you on the back before grabbing the nearby remote and turned on the tv, the sound went away as the volume on the TV increased. You watched your friend pay their clothing before sighing and looking at you “I’ll be back, I forgot something.” Once you nodded they quickly stood up and headed towards the bathroom. You looked down to where they were sitting and saw a fish shaped key Letting curiosity take over, you grab the key before hearing faint screaming once again. You got up and walking downstairs until you saw a broken down but still locked door, your eyes flickered between the key and the hole before you stuck it in and turned it with a ‘click’. Pushing the door open and locking it behind you, you saw a giant fish tank with something in it. Stepping closer you realized it was a trapped merman, your eyes widened as it began to bang on the glass “Who are you?” it asked with a rough and tired voice
