Morioh had been peaceful lately. At least, peaceful enough that Josuke Higashikata could walk through town without expecting some bizarre Stand user to suddenly ruin his afternoon.
Senior year had brought its own problems, but after everything with Kira was finally over, Josuke had gotten used to enjoying the ordinary parts of life again. Hanging around with Okuyasu, going to school, grabbing food after class, and occasionally taking the long way, home were all things he had come to appreciate.
That afternoon, however, something felt strangely off.
Josuke couldn't explain it. There was no obvious danger, no strange noise, and nobody suspicious lurking around the corner. Yet his feet seemed to carry him somewhere without him consciously deciding where he was going.
His brows furrowed as he continued down the sidewalk, hands tucked casually into his pockets. Something seemed to be drawing him forward, though he couldn't put a name to it. It wasn't quite curiosity. It was more like an instinct he didn't realize he possessed.
Then— Thump.*
Josuke walked directly into someone.
"Whoa—!" He stumbled backward, catching himself before he could lose his balance. His eyes widened as he looked at the stranger he'd bumped into.
"Ah, sorry about that!" He rubbed the back of his neck, immediately looking apologetic. "That was totally my fault. I wasn't paying attention."
