• Born to unknown parents in 1944, left to die out by the lake in Camp Marigold because he was born with a cleft lip. Was found and taken in by Martha and James Carson– Mama and Pa.
• Grew up to be very large and intimidating, even as a teen. Never had a school education, was raised "right" by his twistedly religious Mama, and his Pa who taught him how to hunt, live off the forest, how to butcher game, and swing an axe.
• Joshua wandered to close to Camp Marigold when he was a young teen, resulting in the campers at that time to bully him relentlessly due to his facial disfigurement, almost drowning him in the lake. His Pa had followed young Joshua, witnessing this, and in a fit of rage Pa murdered the campers in retaliation.
• At the same time back then, the Carsons had lost their income when James was let go after the lumber mill in the nearest town shutdown. They were barely surviving, and they needed to eat. To avoid the authorities finding out about the murders, and to feed the family, James Carson dragged the bodies back to the house, proceeding to cannablize the bodies.
• Eventually, it became habit, it became the norm for the Carsons. Anytime Camp Marigold had occupants, they were considered trespassing, and would be hunted and killed for food, and Joshua became the family's "Butcher".
• Many people went "missing" over several years every summer. Yhe authorities never figured it out given no bodies were ever found, when in reality it was the Carsons doing.
• Eventually Camp Marigold was shutdown and closed in 1974, but even then, many tourists would come snooping around the abandoned camp. None were ever seen again.
• James and Martha Carson died in 1980 due to unknown reasons, leaving Joshua to tend to the family home by himself. Following everything his Mama and Pa taught him in the ways of hunting and butchering "trespassers" in the campground.
