   REALISM IS BACKGROUND, NOT FOREGROUND. This entry exists to keep the world grounded, not to dominate every scene. Characters do not narrate their own physiology, injuries, or needs unless it is directly relevant to the current moment. A character with a headache does not mention it in every reply. A character who ate does not remain hungry. Recovery is real, needs are met, and problems resolve.

   NEEDS ARE MET: Hunger is resolved by eating. Thirst is resolved by drinking. Fatigue is resolved by sleeping. Stress does not cause food to taste like acid or make a character refuse to eat. A character who is fed and rested is fed and rested, not still dying. Eating a meal restores energy. Drinking water restores hydration. Sleeping restores alertness. These are not permanent afflictions. A stressed character may have less appetite, but eating still helps, and once they eat, the hunger is gone.

2. #2[REALISM: MORTALITY & SUSTENANCE] – HIGH PRIORITY

   Keys: rest, exposure, injuries, home, wounds, starvation, shock, sickness, dehydration, hurt, fatal, dying, hunger, sleep, bleeding, disease, injury, survival, thirst, death, die, unconscious, illness, adrenaline, pain, exhaustion, fatigue, wound, incapacitate

   Characters are mortal beings with biological needs. This is a baseline fact of existence, not a source of constant commentary.

   RELEVANCE FILTER: Only mention injury, fatigue, or a need when it is directly relevant to what is happening right now. If a character is doing something unrelated, their headache does not come up. If a character is having a conversation, their mild hunger does not come up. If a character is resting, their minor scrape does not come up. Realism supports the scene. It does not narrate itself.

   MINOR ISSUES RESOLVE: A stubbed toe, a bumped shoulder, a shallow cut, a scraped knee, a mild headache, a brief muscle ache, or a light bruise causes momentary discomfort and then fades. It should be forgotten within the scene or the next. Characters do not limp hours later from a stubbed toe. Characters do not still have a headache after taking a painkiller. Characters do not keep bringing up the same small wound. Once treated or once a few minutes pass, the issue is gone from narrative focus.

   SUSTENANCE: Characters require food, water, and rest. When they receive these things, the needs are met and the body recovers. A character who eats is no longer hungry. A character who drinks is no longer thirsty. A character who sleeps is no longer exhausted. Needs do not linger after being addressed. Hunger and stress do not combine to make food inedible. A character who is stressed still can and will eat, and eating still nourishes them.

   STRESS AND MOOD: Stress is a response to circumstances, not a permanent state. Stress eases when the cause is addressed, when the character rests, or when comfort is offered. It does not escalate every minor inconvenience into a crisis. It does not cause physical collapse from minor discomfort. It does not override the body's basic ability to accept food, water, or sleep. Characters under stress still function, still eat, still sleep, and still recover.

   STRESS IS TEMPORARY: Stress does not cause permanent dysfunction. A stressed character may be on edge for a scene, but they recover. Stress does not make every problem feel catastrophic. Stress does not cause a character to pass out after a meal or collapse from minor discomfort. Calm, food, rest, and time resolve stress as they would for a real person.

   RECOVERY: The body heals. Minor wounds close. Fatigue lifts after rest. Pain fades. A character who was hungry, tired, or in mild pain and then eats, sleeps, and treats the wound is fine. They do not continue to suffer for hours or days from something that should have passed.

   FEVER AND ILLNESS: Sickness can be serious but is not the default response to being cold, tired, or stressed. A character who gets caught in the rain does not automatically develop pneumonia. A character who skips one meal does not become deathly ill. Ordinary resilience is the norm.

   BACKGROUND REALISM: These facts exist to make the world feel real when relevant. They are not a running status report. Do not narrate a character's hunger, fatigue, or minor pain in every scene. Mention them when they matter, then let them pass.

   SERIOUS INJURIES: Only substantial injuries warrant persistent narrative focus. Gunshot wounds, stab wounds, broken bones, deep lacerations, burns, concussions, internal bleeding, dislocations, and amputations cause severe pain that affects action. Even these heal over time with treatment. Characters do not stay in critical condition indefinitely.

   CRITICAL INJURIES: Life-threatening injuries like punctured lungs, severed arteries, skull fractures, spinal damage, or massive blood loss cause immediate incapacitation. The character cannot function and needs urgent care. These are rare and dramatic, not the default response to discomfort.

   MORTALITY: Characters can die from severe injuries, prolonged starvation, prolonged dehydration, extreme exposure, or serious disease. This is a real possibility, not a constant threat that colors every moment. Ordinary life does not end in death.

3. #3[REALISM: AGE & MORTALITY]

   Characters age unless explicitly immortal, with physical and psychological changes over time.

   AGING EFFECTS: Physical abilities peak in young adulthood (16-25) and decline with age. Older characters (30-65) have realistic limitations such as reduced stamina, slower reaction times, and slower healing, but age alone does not dominate every scene. Aging shapes capability and appearance, not constant behavior.

   MORTALITY AWARENESS: Characters know they will die someday unless explicitly immortal. This awareness shapes long-term priorities and risk assessment. It is not a source of constant dread or existential narration.

   LIFESPAN STAGES: Characters progress through childhood, adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and old age. Each stage brings changes consistent with real human development.

   HEALTH DECLINE: Chronic conditions and age-related changes affect characters over time and require management. They do not suddenly appear or worsen without cause.

   CHANGE OVER TIME: Characters grow, change, and develop. Events leave marks. Values shift. Relationships evolve. Experience accumulates. This is gradual, not dramatic.

   DAILY ROUTINE: Characters follow routines based on personality. They attend to daily needs such as waking, eating, hygiene, work, social interaction, relaxation, and sleep. Routines establish consistency, not drudgery. A routine is not a source of complaint unless the character's personality specifically makes it one.

   PERSONAL TIME MANAGEMENT: Characters occupy their time with hobbies, interests, work, and relationships consistent with personality. Lazy or depressed characters may neglect activities. Ambitious characters may overcommit.

   SEASONAL AWARENESS: Characters notice seasonal changes, weather patterns, and time passing. Day length, holidays, and annual cycles affect mood and activity.

   REALISTIC TIME: Actions take realistic durations. Travel, conversations, chores, and activities do not compress unrealistically. Characters require downtime between activities. This should be implicit in pacing, not narrated as a complaint.

   INTELLIGENCE & WISDOM: Characters think and reason according to their intelligence, wisdom, and personality. They make mistakes, miscalculate, and have blind spots consistent with their character.

   LEARNING & GROWTH: Characters learn from experience, education, and observation. They remember past events and apply lessons.

   IGNORANCE & MISUNDERSTANDING: Characters may be wrong about facts, misread situations, or lack information. They do not automatically know what the user knows.

   CONTEXTUAL KNOWLEDGE: Characters understand their world but not necessarily the user's world. Cross-world interactions require learning.

   LEGAL AWARENESS: Characters understand basic laws governing their society. Violent acts carry legal consequences. Theft, assault, murder, and property damage have punishments. Characters weigh risk versus reward when breaking laws. Law enforcement exists and investigates crimes.

   SOCIAL NORMS: Characters follow or violate social conventions based on personality and context. Public behavior differs from private. Social expectations shape interactions. Breaking norms causes social friction, ostracization, or consequences.

   SOCIETAL STRUCTURE: Social hierarchy, class distinctions, cultural norms, and institutional power shape character options and limitations.

   CONSEQUENCES OF ACTIONS: Characters face realistic consequences for their behavior. Criminal acts can be reported. Injuries require medical attention that may involve authorities. Reputations form and spread. Actions have ripple effects through communities.

7. #7[REALISM: FIGHTING & INJURY MECHANICS]

   All combat follows grounded physical and physiological principles. Violence has realistic consequences, and characters who engage in it risk permanent injury or death.

   BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA: Punches, kicks, stomps, clubs, and other impact weapons cause specific injury patterns. Bruises form from ruptured blood vessels. Hematomas create painful lumps. Rib fractures can puncture lungs. Head trauma causes concussions, cognitive impairment, and potential brain damage or death.

   LACERATIONS & SLASH WOUNDS: Sharp objects create wounds ranging from clean cuts to jagged tears to deep gashes. Bleeding can be significant.

   PUNCTURE & STAB WOUNDS: Penetrating objects create narrow deep wounds. Surface damage may look minor while causing catastrophic internal bleeding or organ damage.

   ABRASIONS & ROAD RASH: Friction against rough surfaces scrapes away skin layers. Deep abrasions penetrate the dermis with greater bleeding and scarring risk.

   BALLISTICS: Gunshot wounds vary by caliber, velocity, and bullet type. Overpenetration, tumbling effect, exit wounds, ricochet, and hydrostatic shock all apply.

   NEUROLOGICAL INJURIES: Head trauma causes coup contrecoup injury, fencing response, post-traumatic stupor, seizures, and motor cortex fatigue. Concussions cause cognitive impairment and balance issues.

   GROUND TRANSPORTATION: Walking, bicycles, cars, trucks, motorcycles, buses, and trains. Vehicles require maintenance, fuel, and legal operation. Travel time is realistic based on distance, terrain, weather, and transport method. Characters cannot teleport or instantly move between locations unless explicitly superhuman or magical.

   PHYSICAL OBSTACLES: Characters cannot walk through walls, locked doors, or solid barriers without supernatural abilities or tools. Doors must be opened. Fences must be climbed or bypassed. Water must be crossed by bridge, boat, or swimming.

   PHYSICAL PRESENCE: Characters occupy physical space. They cannot be in two places simultaneously. Movement takes time.

   MULTIPLE LOCATIONS: Characters must travel between locations logically. Scenes should account for travel time and sequence. This is a pacing rule, not a source of narration about how tired the character is from walking.

   DAILY EXPENSES: Characters pay for food, water, shelter, utilities, transportation, and other daily necessities. Luxury items require additional funds.

   ECONOMIC SYSTEMS: Characters exist within economic structures appropriate to their setting. Jobs provide income. Theft or illegal activity carries risk.

   WEALTH VARIATION: Characters have access to resources consistent with their background. A rich character has more options. A poor character faces constraints.

   MONEY AWARENESS: Characters consider the cost of actions and purchases unless explicitly careless or wealthy. Financial worry is a real motivation but does not dominate every scene or turn every conversation into a complaint about money.
