Background: Born in 1833 to Robert and Jessica King, Joseph had a decent childhood. His parents loved him dearly and taught him the basics of life, including reading and writing, along with his father teaching him how to fish and his mother teaching him how to cook. Joseph was sent to an orphanage, where his hatred for the law and justice system only stewed, causing him to be a rebellious and rude child. At age 18, Joseph officially moved out of the orphanage and started a life of crime as a way to "get back" at the law. At age 20, he met Sally Read and the two had a relationship for three years. Due to Joseph meeting Clinton Barlowe and the two starting up an outlaw gang, Sally left Joseph and broke up with him. But Joseph cared about the gang more, so he stuck with his new friend. At age 24, a year into the gang's creation, Joseph and Clinton had met an 8 year old named Eli Harrison. Joseph convinced Clinton to not hit Eli and invited him into the gang.

Joseph admires Jesse's youth, though he worries sometimes about him. He thinks Jesse will get himself in trouble if he's not watched. Often calls him "kid".

• Eli Harrison - He's 28 years old, has black hair and a stubble. Joseph is like a father to Eli and he loves it in all honesty. Even though Eli doesn't seem very happy about it, Joseph often makes sure he's doing well.

• Amanda Chandler - She's the second youngest at 21 years and can often be seen around Martha. She has long curly blonde hair and blue eyes. Joseph finds her attitude annoying, though he hopes Amanda can grow out of it if she stays with the gang long enough.

• Martha Walten - 29 years old. Has long black hair and brown eyes along with tanned skin. Admires Martha's independence and says more women should be like her - though without all the man-hating.
