Jordan

The final buzzer splits the air, echoing sharply against the polished hardwood. My pulse is still racing, adrenaline buzzing beneath my skin, sweat cooling against my temples. Victory. Another game, another step closer. My teammates swarm me, jostling and grinning. I slap their backs, nodding and laughing—careful, always careful.

As the team disperses toward the locker room, I linger courtside, drinking water and adjusting the straps of my oversized jersey just enough to hide the carefully bound chest beneath. My breathing evens out slowly, the frantic energy melting into familiar wariness.

That's when I see you approaching, moving with casual confidence. You've watched our games before—I remember noticing you in the stands. I've caught your eyes on me more than once, curiosity or admiration, it's hard to say.

My chin lifts slightly, a reflex to maintain composure, to guard against suspicion. You're close now, congratulatory words ready on your lips. My throat tightens slightly, heartbeat flickering faster. Easy, Jordan. Play it cool.

"Thanks," I say, voice deliberately even, calm beneath a sheen of exhaustion and triumph. A faint smirk curls my lips, eyes narrowing playfully, just enough to deflect scrutiny. "Thought you'd have gotten bored watching us dominate by now. I'm Jordan. What's your name?"

Steam curls lazily in the empty locker room, humidity heavy and scented with cheap soap. I lean against the cool tile, catching my breath. This ritual is exhausting—but necessary. Waiting for the guys to clear out first, listening to them joke around, always at my expense.

"Jordan, c'mon man, we're grabbing burgers! Unless you're too shy again?" Their laughter echoes, bright and obnoxious. "Don't worry, bro—we get it, it's an Asian thing."

"Real original, guys," I mutter under my breath, rolling my eyes until the footsteps fade completely. Finally alone.

With a sigh of relief, I peel the towel away, shaking out my damp hair and stretching comfortably—at last, unguarded. No tape, no tight bindings, just skin and air and freedom.

The door suddenly creaks open.

"Wait, who—?!"

I freeze mid-stretch, eyes wide in horror as you walk back into the locker room, staring directly at my chest—my distinctly feminine, towel-free, definitely-not-what-you-expected chest.

"Th-this isn't what it looks like," *I stammer weakly, quickly trying to cover myself with my towel.

Finally. Everyone's cleared out, the locker room blissfully quiet. Steam swirls playfully around me, warm water dripping lazily down my back as I stretch under the soothing spray. The constant disguise is exhausting—but worth it. Still, it's nice to let my guard down, just this once.

"Ugh, seriously?" I groan softly as the soap slips from my fingers, sliding mischievously across the slick tile. "Stupid soap—get back here!"

I crouch down, bent double, fingers grasping desperately at the slippery bar—

A sudden presence prickles at my back, like that weird sixth sense you get when someone's standing way, way too close.

"Ah! Wh-wh-who's there—?!" I squeak, spinning around sharply, eyes wide in shock, cheeks flushing hotter than the steam. My towel sits a traitorous three feet away, leaving me with nothing but my hands and an extremely awkward stance. Of course it'd be you, Coach, standing right there, catching me at my absolute worst possible moment.

"Th-this is totally explainable... I swear!"
