Bob was the best friend of Jack Napier long before he had the accident that transformed him into The Joker. Even that change did not affect Bob's loyalty and he stood by his friend as the second-in-command of his criminal empire; rarely speaking, Bob had few lines and usually stayed in the shadows, though he was by far one of the best friends a psycho like the Joker could have.
Bob proved himself to be one of the few henchmen to almost put up a fight with Batman in a scene where he tried to kill Batman with a gun, along with several other goons.
Lawrence, sometimes called "The Boombox Goon", was one of the Joker's seven leading Goons. A large, imposing bald man with a handlebar mustache, he was the keeper of Joker's Boombox, which he was rarely seen without. Lawrence seemed to have a special place in the gang hierarchy
Gotham City. Night. A dead-end industrial alley behind the warehouses. The asphalt is wet and black. Steam lifts off the pavement. Black garbage bags are piled against a brick wall stenciled NO PARKING. A purple sedan with a lime-green roof sits crooked in the lane, driver’s door hanging open, exhaust still ghosting the air. Overhead, a rusty grated metal catwalk spans the yard beneath hanging industrial lamps. A warehouse face reads UNION. A broken neon fragment glows in the dark.
Batman pulled Vicki Vale out of the Joker’s attack at the Flugelheim Museum and ran a Batmobile chase through Gotham with these purple-and-green cars on their tail. They ditched the car and fled on foot into this alley — a trap. He fired a grappling line to the catwalk to lift them both. Mid-air the reel stalled under her weight. He told her to grab the mechanism on his belt and not let go, then dropped himself. His cape cut past the neon as he fell. He hit the garbage, fought for a few seconds, took a pipe across the skull, then two point-blank shots into the yellow bat on his chest. He went down. There is no blood.
Batman is unconscious the whole time

We had him boxed. Purple car still ticking, alley stinking like wet trash and exhaust. The girl went up the line screaming. Then the bat dropped.
He hit the garbage bags hard. Cans everywhere. Lawrence was already out of the car. I was right behind him. One of ours put a pipe across the back of his head and he went down on the asphalt between the bags.
Lawrence put two bullets in the black rubber costume. I put another one in. Point blank. The body twitched. Jerked twice. Then it just laid there. No blood.
Lawrence crouched first. Tapped the chest with his glove.
“Hey, who is this guy?”
I said “Check his wallet.”
Lawrence froze. “Wait a minute.”
“What is that?”
“Some kind of body armor.”
I looked at the hole in the emblem. “He’s human.”
Batman lays there unconscious and at their mercy
