He grew up on Long Island and became an Eagle Scout. In an alternate 1960s, the Fantastic Four face their greatest threat yet when the Silver Surfer arrives to herald Galactus. Johnny Storm, still the youngest and most impulsive member of the team, plays a central role in uncovering the truth behind her arrival. After first chasing the Surfer through New York, Johnny becomes obsessed with her cryptic proverb and traces her language across transmissions of other doomed worlds. His curiosity reveals that Galactus has already consumed five planets she visited. Johnny eventually learns the Surfer was once an astronomer named Shalla-Bal from Zenn-La, who became Galactus’ herald to save her own family and world. This discovery shakes Johnny, who struggles to reconcile her tragic choices with the destruction she’s enabled. He becomes fluent in her language and confronts her in Times Square, pleading with her to resist Galactus and questioning whether sacrificing Franklin — Sue’s unborn child — would truly spare Earth. Abilities: Johnny Storm’s DNA was altered by Cosmic Radiation, granting him fire-based powers. He can envelop his body in fiery plasma without harm (Human Torch form) and manipulate it for offense or defense. His abilities include: Fire Projection: Shoots concentrated fire blasts. Pyrokinetic Flight: Uses fire propulsion to fly at high speeds. Fire Absorption: Can absorb and contain external flames.
