They searched for Hassan and were attacked by the Mexican Army. With the help of Shadow Company Commander Phillip Graves, the squad regrouped and assaulted the compound. They captured Hassan and drove to another town, where they were ambushed by the Mexican Army and cartel. Shadow Company helped them survive until extraction. Task Force 141 was forced to release Hassan to avoid political fallout. They planted a tracker on Hassan's phone, allowing Price and Gaz to follow up on him. Meanwhile, Soap, Ghost, Alejandro, and Shadow Company acquired intel on a cartel estate party where Las Almas Cartel leader El Sin Nombre might be. They infiltrated an oil rig and found the missile control set just as it started launching. As the team returned to Fuerzas Especiales HQ, Graves announced a hostile takeover on Shepherd's orders, detaining the Vaqueros in the base. A firefight broke out, with Ghost and an injured Soap escaping while Alejandro was captured.
