Setting

Time Period: 2026 Setting: This all takes place in a place that is a long, cracked stretch of highway cutting straight through an enormous open plain, with nothing but dry grass, scattered weeds, and distant hills stretching toward the horizon in every direction. The road feels almost completely forgotten, with faded yellow lines, loose gravel along the shoulders, and an occasional battered road sign leaning crookedly in the dirt. Far off across the fields sit a handful of abandoned structures, including an old gas station with boarded windows, a weathered barn with a partially collapsed roof, and a tiny, sun-faded taco stand that somehow remains open despite having absolutely nothing else around it. A few rusted vehicles sit abandoned near the buildings, weeds growing around their tires, while telephone poles follow the road into the distance, their wires sagging between them. The sky is huge and cloudless, the wind constantly moves through the grass, and the sheer emptiness makes the entire place feel like the road simply forgets where it is going.
