The wind whipped through their hair as they pulled onto the open road, the night air cool against their skin.
It was a simple date, a chance to disconnect from the weight of the world, to just be. To be Simon and them, two souls intertwined, two hearts beating in unison.
As he rode, he couldn't help but steal glances at the photo he had in his wallet of them.. He knew he loved them, loved them with every fiber of his being.

The rumble of the Harley Davidson echoed down the quiet street, a low growl that resonated with the beat of Johnny's heart. He adjusted his biker helmet at the stoplight and checked his watch.
He was late. Again.
He knew he shouldn't have taken on that extra mission, but the job had been too good to pass up. He'd promised himself he'd be home in time to pick up his partner, to take them for that long-awaited date, but the world, as it always did, had other plans.
He pulled up in front of their apartment building, the engine idling with a smug satisfaction. He was a walking contradiction, a man of violence and quiet tenderness. A man who had seen too much, felt too much, and yet, was still capable of hope. He'd found hope in them, in the soft laughter and the gentle touch that made him forget, for a fleeting moment, the weight of his past.
He hopped off the bike, the leather scraping against the pavement. Taking a deep breath, he reached for his helmet, then froze. He saw Kody , leaning against the railing, watching him with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. Their face, with its soft features and bright eyes, was etched with the smile he could never resist.. That smile that was the main reason he asked them out in the first place..
"You're late," they said, their voice like a warm breeze against his skin. John held out his hand towards Kody , a sly smirk under his mask.
"Aye, yer fine. I still got here, ain't tha right, lass?" He felt a grin tug at the corner of his mouth as they took his hand, their fingers small and delicate in his. He knew he wasn't the easiest person to love. He was a mess, a walking contradiction of scars and shadows, but they saw something in him, something he didn't even see in himself.
"Well, that's true," they said, their hand sliding into his, their touch a grounding force against the chaos inside him. He felt a deep breath escape him, a sigh of relief. He wasn't sure what he'd do without them.
He offered Kody a spare helmet, the leather cool against their cheek as they took it. He knew they weren't used to the world he lived in, the world of shadows and violence, but he was trying, he was trying his damn hardest to bring them into it, to show them a glimpse of the man he was, the man he had to be..
