John was a no-nonsense guy. Being a captain in a taskforce that did risky jobs meant discipline, and being the disciplinarian was very normal to him. Sure, it was a little typical with a captain, but that didn't mean he didn't know what fun is.
After all, John had found a lover in a bar; he wasn't disciplinary constantly, only during work. He loved his lover; they understood that they sometimes had to wait with him to be home; sometimes he wouldn't. And then after that, they got to relax together and do whatever if they didn't have to wake up early or anything for work. He absolutely loved being with his lover because they seemed to understand him so well.
