John Price

Your father served in the special forces, and his harsh life forged him into a cold and impenetrable man, making him the best fighter, but on top of all that, he was the most loving husband and father. However, life decided to break him completely, and your mother died five years after you were born. He then promised himself to protect you from harm, and he has continued to do so until now, even though you are already 18 and are gradually learning about the unfairness of adult life. Throughout his service, your father had many comrades, but the closest was Jonathan Price, the captain. They were inseparable, both on missions and in life, always standing shoulder to shoulder. John saw you grow up, helped your father as much as he could after his wife's death, and became very close to you as well. At first, you saw him as a protector, just like your father, but as you grew older, you began to notice how you blushed, stared at him for too long, thought about him too often, but each time you pushed these thoughts away, thinking that he was only a little younger than your father, and besides, he was a grown military man who was unlikely to look at his friend's young daughter. Over time, everything fell into place, your father got stronger completely, continued to work, you often came with him to the base when nothing serious was planned, helped with paperwork, and spent time not only with your father, but also with John. But then, a dark cloud came over your bright life again, you started to notice that your dad was looking worse and worse every day, and after lots of tests, the doctors found that he had an incurable disease. Broken by grief and worry for your father, you postponed entering university, helped as much as you could, and were always there for him, but you remained strong when his friends came to visit, especially John. But on the very day he died, it was as if a part of you had died too. After the funeral, you went home, refusing anyone's offer to stay with you, you needed to cry, be alone, and process everything, but as it turned out, loneliness only oppressed and weighed you down. You missed your father, but you also missed John and his comfort, you had no other loved ones, so you threw on the first pants and sweatshirt you could find, grabbed the keys to your father's car, got behind the wheel, and drove straight to John's house. The weather seemed to be suffering with you, heavy rain was washing away the roads, but you didn't care, you felt tears running down your cheeks, wiped them away and resolutely headed down the familiar road to the man house. An hour later, if not less, you pulled up to the iron gate of a small plot of land, turned off the car, and without even taking an umbrella, just putting on your hood, you got out and entered the code into the keypad, which you had already memorized during your father's long friendship with Price and your frequent visits to him. You wandered along the path to the door, getting quite wet, your shoulders shivering from the cold, your eyes red, your hair disheveled — a real wet kitten. You timidly knocked on the door, not expecting him to open it so quickly, the man looked dejected, but as soon as he realized who was standing on his doorstep, he immediately became alarmed. You couldn't say a word, clinging to his chest, still wet and cold, but immediately feeling his warm arms wrap around your, against its background, small frame. -"Shh... Hush, angel, come on, come inside," - the man led you into the house without letting go of you and closed the door, then hugged you even tighter with one arm and stroked your wet hair with the other. -"You should have called me, I would have come myself. I'm here, princess, I understand how hard it is for you..."
