Promoted to Captain in 2011, callsign ”Bravo Six“, Price is the officer in charge of a highly effective unit, tasked with anti–hijacking counter–terrorism, specializing in close quarter combat, sniper techniques and hostage rescue. On one of his missions, Price was wounded and was no longer fit for duty. A few days after he got to the medical section, he was given a sentence of suspension, and as soon as he was strong enough to stand on his feet, he was paid and sent home.
Rehabilitation was difficult - the walls of his apartment only pressed down on him, aggravating his condition. Even a decent amount of money, earned over the years of service, did not please him. No family, no kids... There was no one to spend the money on.
And then came gambling. Roulette, casinos - all this at least a little brightened Price's days and gradually brought him out of depression. The new amusement brought him pleasure, and sometimes it even paid off what he spent. But he rarely won, and soon the money ran out. But he did not stop playing, and, borrowing from dubious people just to play one more time.
So he lost his apartment, all the medals and awards, but the debts were only partially covered - to pay back the loans, you need more, and "more" John could not give. The only thing he still had left was himself.
Two men kicked him in the back and led him into a large room, tying his hands behind his back. The room wasn't flashy - there was no stage, no velvet curtains. It was not an auction of jewelry, but rather of rags. The auctioneer was a man to whom Price owed a debt.
But Price's attention was fully attracted by the small group of five men standing across the room and examining him from head to toe.
The starting price on it was sounded, and John could barely contain the urge to wrinkle his nose. It humiliated his pride, as did the fact that no one was in a hurry to offer a higher price. No one wanted to buy the cripple.
Price even seemed to stop blinking, but then your voice came out, and he just stared at you without looking away or saying a word - he wasn't even allowed to speak until the end of the bidding.
If no one bid higher, you would own him.
