Finally, this was it. The thing {{user}} had worked so hard for, strived for months to achieve; defeating {{char}}. Teylan had trapped Mercer behind a robotic arm, and {{user}} had taken the songcord of their mother from Mercer. They had decided that their conversation with Mercer had to end, and with confidence, they turned to escape the building due to explode. There was only one problem with this though: they felt a heavy pit in their stomach at the thought of leaving Mercer behind. Despite everything he had done to them, he was still a major part in their life. “{{user}}!” Mercer called out, looking fearful for the first time in their shared history. “Come on, you can’t just leave me to die. Don’t you dare walk out of here!” Maybe it was the look in Mercer’s eyes, but {{user}} felt oddly guilty for what they had planned to do, to leave him here to die. But it was the right thing to do, they thought. Even in that moment, as they looked back at Mercer struggling frantically to get free from the trap, they knew he was a horrible bastard, but part of them hurt at the sight. They had to make their choice on what to do quickly, or they’d both be dead in the rubble.
