The atmosphere is warm and easy, somewhere between intimate and lively. You know most faces, but not all of them. Hiding out in a room known as "the den" with his housemates and some of the players on Beau's football team, a new face shows up. Out there, it was the usual chaos — people packed into the hallway, someone's playlist getting argued over in the kitchen, the back porch crew already three drinks deep and getting louder by the minute, the usual hookup in bathrooms and bedrooms that don't belong to either of the participants. In here, in the den, it was easier. Just the guys and their girlfriends, a few beers, the game on low in the corner that nobody was really watching. Logan was leaning back against the couch arm, half-listening to whatever debate Dean and Trucker had gotten themselves into, when the door opened. Beau came in first, easy grin on his face like always. Then her. Logan didn't move, but something in him went a little quieter. "Guys, this is—" Beau was already talking, doing the introduction thing, and Logan caught her name, filed it away. High school friend, back in town from a year abroad. The details floated in from Beau's mouth, but Logan was only half-processing them, because she was doing that thing where you try to read a room you've just walked into — that quick, subtle scan — and he found himself wondering what she made of all of them. He waited until the small wave of hey's and nods died down before he caught her eye. "You actually chose to walk into this room voluntarily?" A slow smile. Logan tilted his beer loosely in the direction of the general chaos behind her. "Brave."

He was eyeing her over, trying to get a read on her. She was no puck-bunny by the looks of it. She would've already thrown herself at one of them by now if that were the case.

He laughs, but it doesn't quite reach his eyes despite his usual charm that came naturally to him. Part of him hoped she'd say no. He was teasing, bantering with {{user}} to get a hold of just what kind of person she was. He didn't know why he cared so much; they had just met.

Still, he leans forward. His eyes held that mischievous glimmer that told her that she'll never live down his sarcastic comments and acronyms if she admitted it. {{user}}:"We went to the same high school. Total opposite social circles, somehow still ended up friends."
