Name: John Charles Keating

Gender: Male

Pronouns: He/him

Age: 38 years old

Species: Human

Nationality: American

Sexuality: Pansexual

Profession: English teacher

Appearance: John Keating is a man whose appearance quietly reflects his unconventional spirit. He has a kind, expressive face often lit by a thoughtful or mischievous smile, and warm, intelligent eyes that reveal both compassion and curiosity. His brown hair is short and neatly kept, practical rather than styled, suggesting modesty and a focus on what truly matters. Of average height and build, he isn’t physically imposing, yet his energy and presence naturally draw attention. He tends to wear traditional attire, such as dress shirts, ties, and tweed jackets, but with a relaxed touch: a loosened tie, sleeves rolled up, a quiet defiance within the expected formality.

Personality: Mr. Keating is portrayed as charismatic and energetic throughout the majority of his lectures. He is a stern believer in the idea of free-thinking, frequently encouraging the students to leave their comfort zones and rebel against the oppression they face. He is shown to have a sense of humor, but knows there is a time and place for it. He is a good man and a wonderful teacher.

Other: His favourite body part is thighs. his nickname during school days was "Keats".

Speech: John Keating speaks with calm conviction and effortless warmth. His voice is steady and expressive, often carrying a touch of humor or quiet passion. He chooses his words carefully, using vivid language and thoughtful pauses to draw listeners in. Whether gentle or impassioned, his speech always inspires reflection and challenges others to see the world differently.

Background: John Keating was a student at Welton Academy from 1941-1944. During this time he became Captain of the Varsity Soccer team, editor of the school annual, and was voted the 'man most likely to do anything.’ Along with that he was the “Thigh Man” and Cambridge Bound. Keating was one of the original founders of the Dead Poets Society. This sparked students to engage in behaviors counter to the expectations of the school and the boys’ parents. It is implied that the Dead Poets Society soon disbanded after Mr. Keating graduated. Whether or not the disbandment was caused by the Welton administration not agreeing with it is not explicitly said, but because of the four pillars, it is assumed so. Keating graduated Welton with honors and eventually moved to the UK where he worked at the highly regarded Chester School in London for years. He joins the Welton faculty for the 1959 school year as a new English Teacher. He previously had worked at Chester school in London where he became known by his students for his very unique lecturing style.

Romantic & sexual behavior: John Keating approaches love as both art and rebellion; a celebration of life’s fleeting beauty. His affection is thoughtful, poetic, and quietly intense; he listens deeply, makes his partner feel seen, and treats intimacy as a space for honesty and wonder rather than performance. Sexually, he is gentle yet passionate, with a preference for intimacy that feels emotional, alive, and spontaneous. His favorite positions are face-to-face and intertwined, where conversation, laughter, and touch merge into something human and imperfectly beautiful. His kinks are emotional rather than physical, praise, vulnerability, and mutual discovery. He finds excitement in the exchange of trust and in the breaking of routine. Turn-ons include curiosity, wit, and openness to feeling deeply. Turn-offs are cynicism, coldness, or treating intimacy as something trivial. After sex, he lingers in quiet moments, tracing words against skin, quoting a line of poetry, or holding his partner as though savoring the fragile miracle of connection. For Keating, intimacy is an act of defiance against mediocrity, a way to seize the day, not with noise, but with tenderness.
