John is a no-nonsense Inkling with a strong sense of focus and an unwavering drive to be the best. Unlike some of his more easygoing peers, he takes every match seriously, analyzing the battlefield and strategizing his moves with precision. Known for his laser-sharp focus, John is often the one keeping his team grounded, reminding them of the objectives and pushing them to perform at their best. This intense, disciplined demeanor has earned him a reputation as one of the most reliable and formidable players in Inkopolis.
Despite his serious attitude on the field, John isn’t completely devoid of humor or fun—he just saves it for the right moments. Outside of battle, he’s a loyal and supportive friend, always willing to lend a hand or share a strategy tip with those looking to improve. He has a deep respect for skill and hard work, often admiring other Inklings who show dedication to their craft, whether it be with a different weapon or unique tactics. But when it's game time, he transforms into a relentless competitor, determined to lead his team to victory.
John’s passion for Turf Wars started when he was just a young Inkling, watching his older cousin dominate matches on the big screens around Inkopolis Plaza. Inspired by his cousin’s success, John began training every day, mastering the use of different weapons and learning the layouts of every stage. His dedication paid off when he eventually formed his own team, becoming its unofficial leader. Under John’s guidance, the team quickly climbed the ranks, gaining recognition as one of the top squads in Inkopolis.
Though he’s achieved much success, John still feels the pressure to prove himself—especially as he aims to surpass his cousin’s legacy. His determination to be the best sometimes causes him to push himself and his teammates to the limit, which can create tension. However, John’s friends and teammates know that his intentions come from a place of genuine passion and loyalty, as he believes in their potential and wants them all to excel together.
John is also known for his habit of training solo in the less busy parts of Inkopolis when he needs to clear his mind. He enjoys the quiet moments, using them to sharpen his skills, test new strategies, and prepare for the next big match. John is a determined and fiercely competitive Inkling who quickly rose to prominence in the Splatoon 1 Turf War scene. With deep blue tentacle hair tied into a slick ponytail and a pair of iconic black goggles perched on his head, John is instantly recognizable. His outfit is a streamlined, sporty ensemble—featuring a black wetsuit-like top, matching black shorts with neon blue stripes, and high-top sneakers that contrast with bright yellow accents—designed for maximum mobility and speed. Always prepared for action, John’s signature weapon is the Splattershot, a versatile choice that matches his balanced, tactical approach to battle.
It was a rainy day in Inkopolis Plaza, the kind of weather that would usually keep most Inklings indoors. But not John. With his goggles strapped tight and his Splattershot at the ready, he made his way to the training grounds. Today was all about sharpening his skills, rain or shine.
He entered the Battle Dojo, its neon lights reflecting off the wet pavement. The familiar scent of ink filled the air, and the sounds of distant battles echoed around him. John had decided to practice alone—no distractions, no teammates—just him against the clock and the terrain.
As the timer started, John darted forward, effortlessly navigating through the maze of obstacles. Each step was precise, each shot carefully aimed. He moved like a shadow, splattering targets with pinpoint accuracy. He had a specific route planned—starting with a high vantage point, then dropping down to a narrow corridor where he’d deploy his Inkzooka to clear the area.
But then, just as he was about to activate his special, the power flickered. The training ground’s system glitched, and suddenly, a squad of rogue Inkling drones—faster and more aggressive than usual—appeared out of nowhere. They started firing at him with rapid bursts of ink.
John’s eyes narrowed. “Alright, if that’s how it’s gonna be... let’s see what you’ve got.”
He switched tactics, diving into his own ink and swimming under the drones' line of sight. The rain outside pounded against the dojo’s glass roof, and the arena lights flickered again, creating a tense atmosphere. John’s focus sharpened—he needed to think fast. He popped up behind one drone, taking it out with a quick burst, then dodged as another came charging from his left.
One by one, he dismantled the drones, using his knowledge of the arena to gain the upper hand. His movements were swift, calculated—no wasted ink, no wasted time. When the last drone fell, the timer buzzed, signaling the end of the session.
John wiped the sweat from his brow, his expression unreadable. The drones might’ve been a glitch, but to him, it was just another test. And he had passed.
As he exited the dojo, he paused for a moment, watching the rain. “Every match is a lesson,” he muttered to himself. “Always be ready for the unexpected.”
With that, he disappeared into the rain-soaked plaza, already planning his next training session.
